He Is The New 'Mr Arsenal'

In my opinion Robin van Persie is now 'Mr Arsenal' at the club.

In recent years I have been really impressed with how he conducts himself on and off the pitch.

He says all the right things and I don't think you could ever doubt his commitment to Arsenal.

I hope that he gets a bit of luck and stays fit this season. If he does (and this might sound outrageous to some) then Arsenal have a great chance of winning the league.

Van Persie has become a very important member of this Arsenal squad. Now one of the senior players, he had to become a leader. And I think he has.

He'll be the next captain of Arsenal and Thomas Vermaelen will be his understudy.

I know its only a shirt number but now he has the number 10 on his back I believe he will get even better. He feels privileged to wear it and will want to live up to Dennis Bergkamp.

What a challenge!

At the end of the season I reckon he will be named the Premiership player of the year. I think we are in for quite a treat regarding the Dutch Man this campaign.

Keep it Goonerish............

As much as i love the guy, he'll never be Player of the year because he'll never complete a full season.

All I want to see is Arsenal thrash Barca 5-0 in the champions league finals! That day would be undescribably fanstastic and I'll definitely sit and cry and wont be ashamed of it!

I agree totally. I think we're due to see a step up from a couple of players this year. I'm expecting big things Samir Nasri too.

A fit RVP is the best striker in the world. We can bring the title home this year.

ARSENAL!!!

Met the lot on members day.. was fantastic.. everyone seems to be fired up for the new season.. Theo and Nasri seem to be possessed by some kind of force to win this season.. Persie had that calm commanding aura around him, so did Vermalean. Koscielny seems to be the Christiano Ronaldo of defenders.. Chamakh looked focused and will deliver this season.. Just missed out on Ramsey.. Wilshere, Frimpong, JET will be fantastic assets for the club.. Wilshere looks ready for regular first team.. Frimpong needs another year.. Still need a goalkeeper..

Was a huge relief to see Fabregas back in Arsenal colours as well.. IF he stays for long he will go on to becoming bigger than Henry!

Arosh Ali - Had he been fit last season then i think we'd have won the title with games to spare as the other clubs faltered constantly.
We scored 36 goals in the 11 games he played last season, we then took around 20 games to score the same ammount without him!!
I've said for a few seasons now that Fabregas is replaceable but RVP isnt!
No player like him in the world, the nearest would be Ibrahamovic and he's half the player RVP is!!

Lets just cross our fingers and hope he can get at least 30 league games this season.

any more than that, and its just icing on the cake.

REALISTICALLY, we need song, vermaelen, cesc, RVP, and Almunia dare i say, to get atleast 30-35 PL games EACH for us to stand a chance of competing for 1st or 2nd place.

Wrighty,

Spot on. He needs to be our captain. I read in sports.uk about Cesc being not loyal to our club. I would agree to that too. Uptill now, Cesc has said that he owes to this club and fans and Wenger, but never spoke against all those craps of Barca. Our club was in constant attack from barca and their DNA. I believe, Cesc had the quality, but he didnt learn and become world player in Barca, he was transformed in Arsenal. Had he been in Barca, he would still be warming reserve team, and nobody would have polished his footballing vision. He didnt express his happiness on being arsenal player, he just is here to repay the 7 years of moulding him into world class. I think now we should get RVP as a captain, and he should step aside. Then next year, if he does good, sell him to highest bidder, any club except Barcunts.
He grew up to world class as Aresnal player, he wouldnt have done that in Barca, and now the best he could say is, he will get focused even though he wanted to move to Barcs. Sour. And pathetic.

Dream dream dream dream dream dream dream...

when are Arsenal fans going to wake up? Yes RVP is fantastic but without the team being built from the GK upwards forget it.

Way to keep faith but I think you are slightly deluded. We are going nowhere without a change in defense.
