Gallas is a superb captain, a winner AND only human, thats why he reacted like he did.....

Many people are jumping on the back of William Gallas after his display on Saturday after the Birmingham game. It could be seen by many as petulance and a show of self-indulgance. It's even been said that he should be stripped of the captain's arm band and that he is everything a skipper should not be. What a load of SHIT!!!!

I'm sorry but I dont feel like this. I felt every bit of anger that he showed. I think that it showed how much it means to him to win football games, and I'm happy that he showed his emotions and didn't bottle them up inside.

Footballers are not robots. They are human beings just like you and I. They have emotions and after that game on Saturday emotions would have been running extremley high. He had seen one of mates leg snapped just yards away, seen his side concede two goals from very debatable decisions and seen his side throw away two very crucial points in the title race. I'm glad that he showed how much it meant to him and isn't afraid of showing his emotion in public.

You could say that he should have waited until he got into the changing room but he didn't. I'm sure there has been plenty of times when you or I have lost our temper and let it go, regardless of where we are. It wasn't a case of "look at me, I'm upset" it was a genuinely upset man who let his feelings out.

And what of the people who appaulded the decision to make him captain? It that a poor decision now? He has led by example all season and has bonded this young Arsenal team together in a big way. He is a winner and that is rubbing off on the squad. Henry's departure has helped, but lets not forget the contribution of Gallas this season.

The man has been a true help to this young squad and will inspire to win. He is the right man for the job and for me is doing a great job. People may or may not agree with me on this, but that is how I see it.

Keep it Goonerish..............

  1. Indeed.

All the press can sod off or suck it, whichever they prefer.

Now, let's go win some silverware this season and dump the champagne (or vomit) inside on the critics.

    Go Gunners!

  2. Have it! At last a blog that says how most Gooners feel. U have big bollox Wrighty7, at least u haven't joined 'anti-Gallas' brigade, fuck 'em all. C'mon Arsenal, win some silverware and fuck the critics.

  3. I have to say Wrighty7, you've said it very well. To be honest, before the season started and when I heard that Gallas was going to be captain, I was pretty sick about it - didn't think he was deserving of the privilege. But as the season's gone, he's shown his leadership qualities, and what really impressed me was when, after the 2-2 with Utd earlier in the season, he said that the team "would have died on the field to get a result". That was class, and the sign of a good captain.

Not sure he's a Tony Adams yet, but I for one am very happy with him!

    Cheers,
    JC

  4. Couldn't agree with more. Very well put Wrighty7. Gallas is a winner pure and simple and inspires this team to fight. Something we didn't do before he became captain.

  6. Well said mate..

After seeing Gallas on saturday, I can surely say that He surely cares about the club like us(the fans).

I'm having a feeling that this team will have a very good run till the end of the season and will win the league. And as Flamini said 'Lets do it for Eduardo'.

  7. Gallas will be the reason you Goons end up with no silverware this season. He thinks he's God the same way Henry and to a lesser extent Vieira did and as soon as you start acting and thinking you are bigger than the rest of the team and the club it's the beginning of the end. If he was a striker I hate to think what his attitude would be like, he'd be worse than Drogba.

Don't get me wrong, a bit of arrogance isn't necassarily a bad thing in a player but there is a line and Gallas is so far past the line, the line is now a dot, he probably can't even see it from where he is!

  8. Mabbs, fuck off u numpty.

  9. Whats that Mabbs? Is that the same way that Dimitar Berbatov thinks he is bigger than your muggy club? His head is so big that when Ramos ordered the squad lose 100 kgs between them Berbatov's bonce accounted for 78 kgs for it!

  10. Wrighty7..Berba wouldn't think he was bigger than the team if he was playing for Accrington Stanley..

i think he's proved himself to be the type loyal and down to earth guy that anyone would want their team.. not even you could argue with that Wrighty7 but i'm sure you'll try..

i think after Sunday's win and also with the influence of Ramos, we will still see Berb in a white shirt next year..

and if he wants to go then i don't think any Spurs fan would hold him back coz he's been very loyal..

as for Gallas..he was an absolute joke of a captain against Brum..don't let anyone else tell you otherwise..what would have happened had Almunia saved the keeper but Gallas was down the other end unable to clear the ball coz he was kicking hordings down the other end..

and afterwards...when his team clearly needed some moral support and encouragement..he sits down and crys in the middle of the pitch until Wenger comes out to get him...i'll accept that it was an emotional day but that is just poor form..

i don't think Arsenal will win anything this year.. the champions League will be their best bet coz Europe suits their style of football but can't see them getting over AC Milan.. and i think Utd are on too much of a roll to be stopped..and remember you still have to go to Utd this season..

but what do i know i'm just a lowly Tottenham fan with pointless opinions and one trophy in the bag..

  11. Is that the same Dimitar Berbatov who has by his own admittance stated that he wants to play in the Champions League and who wants to win trophies regulary? Dont think he'll be happy with a mid-table finish and then having to wait for a trophy every 9 years mate! Talking of poor form, look at your own first. After beating us (luckily, I might add ha ha) didn't Robinson sulk away and not join in your OTT celebrations? What about Chimbonda? Didn't he storm down the tunnel when subbed on sunday? Get your own house in order before slating ours mate!

  12. even you would have to admit that things are looking good for Spurs at the moment Wrighty7.. all joking aside..

and that in Ramos, Spurs finally have a manager that can, at the very least, be able to compete with your good selves..

Robbo and Chimbonda will be gone in the Summer..

I wonder if Gallas had done what Chimbonda did on Sunday..would you be defending him..i'd bet you would just coz he wears a red shirt and because he's "a superb captain, a winner AND only human"

just giving my honest opinions anyway Wrighty7...thought i might help you out with your low amount of comments left on here..

  13. Thanks for helping me out with my 'low comments' Bimitar Derbatov. I really appreciate it. Must admit Ramos is a good manager, but all jokes aside, don't get above yourself and claim that you can compete with us now. I almost took your comment seriously until I read that!

    ReplyDelete
  14. we can of course compete..i didn't say beat ye every time but 3 out of the 4 times we've played ye this year we've outplayed ye and only ended up with one win..sweet and all as it was..

  15. The games between us are on the most part, pretty tight. In a way, I'm glad that when u finally did beat us it was in the cup and not the league. I hope that this "trophy" you have won can help to stop the obsession with Arsenal that Spurs seem to have developed over the years. It shouldn't matter to u, what we achieve, but just concencrate on your club winning a trophy every 9 years instead. There is no comparing the clubs, we have moved into a new era that u may try to emulate, but will not succeed in doing so.

  17. I hold my hands up where Chimbonda is concerned, he's a prize prick too, I'd be more than happy for him to leave WHL.

I don't think you can compare Berba to Gallas though. Berbatov may look moody sometimes but he doesn't have that aggressive 'I AM GOD' arrogance like Gallas does and Henry had before him. Wenger obviously likes this type of player as his Captain or is it just to keep these Prima Donnas at the club and not bad mouthing you in the press like Gallas was at the start of the season?

    ReplyDelete
  18. Mabbs, I'd rather take Gallas's so-called "I AM GOD" attitude than Berbatov's "I'LL ONLY DO IT WHEN IT SUITS ME" attitude. Gallas has an arrogance about him I agree. But its a winner's one. Berbatov only seem's to try when he feels like it. When I saw him play at the Emirates in the league, he didn't want to know. He was throwing his arms around and went into a deep sulk for much of the match. Showing his true colour's. He believes his own hype too much and thinks he's bigger than Spurs.

  19. you couldn't be more wrong about Berba Wrighty7..just look at his celebration after scoring on Sunday

he wanted it badly even though it was only a "mickey mouse cup" as you've called it..

he's a loyal down to earth player..listen to any of his interviews and you will understand this...if he wanted to go, believ me he'd be gone already..

furthermore it was his pr*ck of an agent, for the most part, that started all the rumours about him wanting to move clubs in order to play Champions League football..

who's to say he can't achieve that with Spurs.. there's no longer a big 4...it's now a big 3 what with Liverpool being an absolute joke so there is a gap for someone to slip in there..

btw sorry for turning you're arsenal blog into a discussion on Spurs!! ;)

So in order to make it up to you here's more on Gallas..

  21. Love it win the tin pot cup and again spuds fans are talking about the big 4! all i heard last summer was how spuds would finish above the gunners and be a big four club! give you a clue the big fours aim at the beginning of a season is to win the league, not finish 4th. looking forward to another summer of big clams from a small club (spuds)!
Lets face it if Man u offer the cash Dimatar will be off. Spuds keep your silly comments to yourselfs till at least christmas next year and if you are with in 10 pts of the top of the league then start with the big four shit! will you never learn you are a avearage cup side who win very little!

  22. i would rather have one berba to ten cheating wankers like that tosser adebeyor. two yellows for diving in two games. what a wanker, no wonder fans sing that song about him. he is a vile cheat in the drogba mould. do you lot even care, does he embarass you.

whats all this bollocks about a small club. there is more to a club than the last ten years, retards.
your gonna be 4 years without a trophy soon as are fullham, bolton, wigan etc. does that make you a small club? PRICKS

  23. Guess that makes Preston, Pompey, Burley and Derby big clubs, there all there winning the league a massive twice!
