Lukas Podolski Would Be Ideal For Arsenal

I keep seeing these rumours Arsenal are in the hunt for Lukas Podolski and I have to admit that it excites me a little.

Of course, they are only rumours, but if there was some truth in the talk around town, then he would be an ideal acquisition to the squad.

He has plenty of experience at the top-level in football and can play as striker or as a wide player.

Whenever I have seen Podolski play he has always impressed me. That left foot of his is sweeter than honey. With sugar on top.

He has played nearly 100 times for Germany at the ripe old age of 26 so he has undoubted quality.

The man himself has bigged up Arsenal recently too. Flirting and batting his eye-lids away like a good 'un.

Now, whether this flirting is a come-and-get-me plea I don't know, but I have seen that he has only 18 months left on his contract with his club FC Köln.

So, like many others in the past, Lukas could be using the good name of Arsenal Football Club to get a new deal with Köln.

That is the sceptic in me. However, he could actually like Arsenal and want to move to us.

Lukas Podolski is, by all accounts, a boyhood FC Köln fan. It could prove difficult for him to leave them.

He has done in the past though, leaving for Bayern Munich.

It is all ifs and buts, and the main question is whether Arsene Wenger actually wants the player.

I have no doubt Wenger admires him but who knows what goes through the bonce of the gaffer?

In my opinion, not that it is worth much mind, I think that the German would be a fantastic signing for us.

He is high-profile, high-quality, would be a purchase of intent, and lastly show that Arsenal mean business.

I'm very interested in seeing the Podolski links too. I think he would be great if we sold both Chamack and Arshavin. He can be a bit a git at times but i think he will get us goals

Podolski for Germany is world-class. A dynamic and dangerous predator.

Podolski for a club team is laidback, unmotivated, inconsistent andunreliable.

Mentally he's also not the brightest spark. He's a fairly primitive Polish-German chav. There's a big Polish community in London though so he'd settle in and Chesney would obviously help too.

He could finally prove himself at club level, but it would definitely be a gamble and an expensive one at that.

Give it a month and we'll be seeing quotes from Arry about how Podolski is a triffic player and how he'd love to sign him.

Got a feeling he's gonna go all out for Mario Goatze and not an out and out striker in January. I guess he's banking on VP staying fit which is a bit risky if you ask me.

Up the Arse!

As good as goetz potential is, reus or poldolski would be ideal. Reus is dynamic, very van persie like in the fact that for a striker he creates goals for other. Poldoski would be great too he has grit andis combatitive. for me those are the two that would be ideal cover for van persie

podolski would bb a ideal replcement for arshavin .... but not a cover ffor rvp... i think saldado is a way better option....
or if we could sell nikkki b chamak arshavin nd get dese 22 in it wouuld b some good business.... for me the ideal replacement foe arshavin still is carlos vela..... he needs games under his belt to prove wht he is worth

I like the look Emile Heskey....

Heskey, why not?A rare talent, not many forwards can hit the corner flag when shooting at goal.

you might be right steve, but goetze is a class player. secondly this team creates chances galore, take the carling cup defeat to city as an example. a fantastic couple of saves from city's third choice keeper and the woodwork plus other chances show that we can create the chances and on other nights those chances go in. look at fulham van persie did everything in his power to score but saves and goal line clearances denied him a goal even good strikers get denied sometimes. the 4-4-2 looked good at city and that formation with van persie and chamakh at ethiad in 11-12 days time is an exciting prospect especially if you want to change things around after 60 minutes.
