Lay Off Aaron Ramsey

The abuse I've seen thrown at Aaron Ramsey lately has been a sick joke.

Some of it has even bordered on things I wouldn't even wish on my worst enemy.

I couldn't believe my eyes at some of the stuff I've seen. I mean death threats?! Over a game of football?! Come on behave yourself.

That kind of shit has no place anywhere, let alone football.

Putting that aside he also has taken a lot of stick for his performances in a very unnecessary way.

People saying he is 'shit' isn't going to get him very far is it?

Aaron is a young man of 21 years of age. Just a baby really.

There is no need to destroy him. A little bit of constructive criticism is fine. But don't make him into a scapegoat because of your frustrations.

Take the game against Swansea, I thought he was below-par. But I tell you something, he certainly didn't hide and still wanted the ball despite not playing well.

That says a lot for me. The best players don't hide and although I wouldn't rank Ramsey alongside the best in the world, yet, he certainly has the character of one of them.

Some people forget he suffered a career threatening injury and was out for a long time with it. Just for him to actually be playing football again is a miracle.

We need to remember that and we need to remember he is a year behind in his progression as a footballer.

I think some people are annoyed that Cesc Fabregas left the club and that Ramsey is his supposed replacement.

But they are two completely different types of player. You can't compare them because Cesc was a one-off. Cesc is a genius.

Lately some of us Gooners seem to love someone to have a pop at. Eboue, Bendtner and even Arshavin have been victims. I've even seen Per Mertesacker get unfair stick.

Lets not start to dig Aaron Ramsey out too. People need to lay off him because he has all the attributes to be a top player.

Trust me, Aaron Ramsey is a gem and I am glad that we have him at Arsenal Football Club.

I'd hate to see him go somewhere else and become the talent I'm sure he will be.

I think Ramsy is a great player and with him and our Jack with Artetta is agood midfield. Remember we have Song also who don't stop running. But I can't see why people are on Aaron's back, heis young and not long come back from a major leg break so give the lad a break.

the issue with Ramsey is that he is not a team player he wants to score most of the chances he gets then he ends up not seeing who is in a good spot to score....he should see wider and create chances...pass the ball to the striker...if he stops being selfish then he will be supper

let him be a team player...stop being selfish....and rem your not a striker to be so hungry for goals, create chances and pass the ball...be more tactical...

I think that Ramsy is a good footballer and one for the future. The trouble with Arsenal at the present time is that we introduce new and young players too quickly and expect them to carry the team, when the reverse should be the case. We have very few solid and seasoned campaigners to share the burden and this is the fault of AW and his penny pinching ways.

Patrick is right, Ramsey is a good player and it is not his fault, it is the manager who doesn't let players grow slowly becuase he has sold all of the winning experience. If he hadn't sold the Vieras and Henry's of this word the young players would have had role models and wouldn't have had to play every game becuase there are no other options.

Does Ramsey have talent? absolutely. Will he be a great player? Probably. Has he done much to contribute to Arsenal's recent demise? Certainly! Not only does he take on too much on his own, he often makes unwise passes that puts other players under unnecessary stress; he gets himself off the hook but does not care too much about what happens to the ones he passes to.

Ramsey is good when it comes to ball retention, but sometimes he hold onto the ball for too long.
Even though he controls the tempo REALLY well sometimes its too slow. We play at a high counter attacking tempo, that is the arsenal way!

ramsey is a good player but is not a prem player wenger and his purchases have been a disgrace but then you have yo look at the board and the american kroenke, they have proven what their success is and it is not what we have seen the team at present has proven most of the players would not make a championship team as first team players wenger, kroenke and gazidi have to go and it is about time supporters stood up for the club they support not sit their and except what is happening and waiting to it is to late enough is enough we py high price to watch this crap and it is not on grow up and start supporting a team that is committed not a team who taake home huge wages and perform like school children

I would he has been under par lately. However, expect that to happen when he's not getting enough rest. We have no cover for him and for a player in his FIRST full season, we should let him get his mind right, his body right and he'd be much better.

Truth be told, he is Load of trash. Why wont you all get behind him? Anyways hez absolute rubbish, the only thing he has is stamina. He cant pass the ball, cant score a gifted chance, hold it without loosing it, tackling is even a problem falling over every time he tackles an opponent. I just wish wilsher was here alredy so he can warm the bench and learn. Nonsence

hahaha, what an excuse. Hes just 21? How old is Hazard? Messi when the world started singing his praise? The list goes on. Wake up dude, man up and say hes not good.

Anonymous said...

Haha hazard what has he ever done in a decent league and on the international.stage for that matter. i would take ramsey over diaby rosicky benayoun lansbury ozyakup henderson denilson any day and that is exactly what wenger is doing. would he pick him over song wilshire arteta i doubt it. but i would change the.formation once.jack returns and rambo has had a little rest. play song as holding with jack rambo and arteta behind rvp and one of walcott or gervinho. coquelin as back up to song chamberlain diaby rosicky benayoun ryo providing the am cover and walcott or gervinho plus chamakh park afobe arshavin providing the strike cover. we have the.players in terms of numbers just probably dont have enough quality 4132 is the way forward for second half of the season if not a 442/4411 we must ditch the current gung ho approach it just doesnt give.enough protection to the.back 4. how about a flat midfield of rambo song arteta wilshire protecting a back 4 of sagna koscielny vermaelen gibbs does that sound so bad? walcott or gervinho or arshavin running left and right of rvp.

I have to agree with the majority of posters here, despite being a very talented young footballer Ramsey is just not ready for the rigors of a full prem season. That is obvious to see

I agree with the critics of Ramsey. He is so selfish bcos he wants to that he is better than Jack Wlshere and a replacement for Cesc. Very slow in thinking and unintelligent in his passes. Doesn't know the essence quick and incisive passes, so he kills goal scoring moves. The only good things which Wenger must train him to use are his stamina and his mobility that gets him into goal scoring positions. I also believe his position as Wales captain gives the mentality of a superstar. We need Mario Gotze and Eden Hazard

21 is not an excuse to play nonsense, if he is not ready let him be loaned out till he is ready. We have risked enough and i think its time we start winning something. We fail to see that those players that left the club left becos the club decided not to move one, the club just want to be behind 2nd or 3rd every year. If we are winning trophies, the players will be happy at the club and will not be worried about pay raise.

Still numb after attending my first game in some time. There was only going to be one winner until that quite appalling substitution. I couldn’t face watching the MOTD highlights but saw news excerpts this morning with Wenger suggesting that Ox might have been injured if he had stayed on for much longer. Who believes him- no-one. Just as he tried to justify the quite correct subbing of Djourou by saying he might have had a slight hamstring problem. Wenger you screwed up yet gain and you’re a total disgrace. The subbing of the Ox reminded me of the often inevitable subbing of Bergkamp for Cygan with 10/15 minutes to go with the inevitable goal being conceded. The atmosphere around me in the Family Enclosure was pure poison- lucky for Wenger that this is not South America, or someone would have taken a pot at him! Seeing Van Persie as he lingered on the pitch after the final whistle went reminded me of Henry’s and Cesc’s last seasons- a look of utter dejection and resignation. Like everyone else, he knows he will win nothing with this megalomaniac at the helm. It’s pathetic for people to say pay him £150k a week. He deserves to win medals, as did Cesc. We have lost one truly world class player who had yet to hit his peak- we will lose another one who is at his peak right now. To blame the Board is naive- did they really refuse Wenger the funds until Cesc and Nasri were sold? Why then did both Cesc and Kroenke say it was ” Wenger’s decision to sell?” Was it the Board’s decision to buy a tubby Brazilian wing back instead of Enrique or Mertesacker instead of Jagielka or Cahill? I want you out Wenger as you are a has-been who has not only lost the fans but also the dressing room.
