I learnt something from Diarra!

Lassana Diarra says he learnt nothing from Arsene Wenger. Well I learnt that Diarra had a dolphin shaped head, a bad attitude and the patience levels of a two year old.

I've tried not to bite over this but I can't help it. He really is a croissant.

Diarra has a lot of talent and potential. Believe me, he would have maximised that at Arsenal and become a world-class player. He has messed up though in my opinion.

Sure, he is happy at Madrid at the moment but it won't be long until he is considered as useful as a third nipple in Madrid.

He isn't a big name and as soon as the next "best defensive midfielder" comes along he will be lobbed out of the club quicker than you can say abracadabra.

I suppose I should just erase him from my memory like the Men In Black but I find it difficult when he launches an unprovoked stinging attack on the gaffer at Arsenal.

Arsene Wenger will probably be too dignified to respond to such slander so I'll do it for him; "Do one, you little dolphin headed munster. "

Keep it Goonerish..........

I live in Spain & saw the original interview. He's a prat. The really funny thing is that the journalist calls him 'Lars', not Lass, the bird-brain name he's chosen for his shirt in Madrid.

When players come back from injury at Madrid, he won't get in the team & then we'll see Lassie try & find a new home. Or maybe he'll return to the mother ship?

diarra is good though and i think you guys should stop hating the kid..... although you are right about being shiped out soon.....maybe to west ham or benfica like reyes

While I believe that he had the ability to succeed at arsenal, he definitely did not have the attitude.
And lets face it, how much can you expect to learn from a manager in half a season?

Diarra is a great talent but he suffers from the very same thing it seems that some young players suffer from today - too much, too soon. This movement of bringing young players into the limelight so quickly has essentially spoiled them and have them believing they have achieved something of significance when they make the senior team. Diarra was never worth the money Madrid paid for them - they were simply desperate and as usual stupid with their money. Madrid is a big club in decline, as their European performances have shown in the past few years and they're still stuck in the Galacticos mindset instead of a winning one. If Diarra cared to give the club more than 3 months chance he could very well be playing in a CL final in a couple months instead of watching Barca destroy everyone in La Liga.

I'm not surprised by the comments...Diarra must be getting bored in Madrid during the weekdays when Arsenal are playing champions league football. If he would have stayed for another 6 months at Arsenal he would have been first choice since Gilberto and Flamini left and I think we would have been a much better team this year. His attitude is bad and thinks he deserves it all right now. I would much rather someone who loves the club play for us.

Well, even it's not quite how he meant it, he IS perfectly correct:

He learned absolutely nothing from AW, and it shows.

I think Le Prof looked at him, saw the same brooding and lack of character he'd seen from a young talented French player a decade before and decided to cut his losses. Turns out that he made a tidy profit from this kid, same as he did with the other one 10 years ago.
Thing is, if Madrid let Makelele go at the height of his powers, what would stop them fom doing the same when a prettier, more marketable face (Xabi Alonso comes to mind) becomes available?
BTW, how long did Anelka take to figure out that leaving the Arsenal was a mistake?

He's talented but impatient and overall seems like a bit of a cunt but it's just as well cause he's at a cunt club. Rules don't apply to Real Madrid and thats why they've got no class.

It's fine for a player to thrive under one sort of coaching regime (or man management) and not another. It's stupid for the player to speak in public about it as though he's the litmus test for whether a coach is good or not. AW probably ignored him to force him to knuckle down and work for his place in the team and achieve his potential.

Well, if Diarra leaves Mourinho after a year and AW after 6 months, what's the difference? He's a prat and has learned very little in fact. What a waste of two years in England. Maybe Harry Rednapp taught him everything he needed to know?

wenger made him suck him off. just like you dad made you

Who? Diarra? Never heard of him mate. Did he play for Arsenal? Sorry, I never noticed him. I have a vague recollection of a guy who played midfield a couple of times and showed a bit of promise but who didn't have enough character to stick around for more than a few weeks and hadn't the heart to fight for a 1st team place. I've totally forgotten about him now. What was his name again?

Totally disagree with this post. The player was excellent in every match he played for Arsenal, and would routinely find himself back on the bench irrelevant of this.

The idea that it was 'good business' to sell him for £4m when he went for £20m less than a year later is also laughable. It used to be Wenger who spotted value like that, not Harry Redknapp.

We had a geniunely world class midfielder on our books, vastly superior to Denilson and Song, who basically was sold for a pittance because he dared to play well and question why he was then dropped.

diarra is a much better palyer than flamini no doubt,if flamini was that good he'd be starting every game for milan and not being kept out by OAPs. Adebayors goals made everyone including hleb, flamini to look good, remember when he stopped scoring?the weakness of arsenal was exposed as NO ONE could hit the net. Remember that Diarra left our rivals and took a PAYCUT to join arsenal.

wrighty, I hate diarra as much as you but I doubt he'll drop by the wayside. He is a class act and although he isnt very mature, he's putting in great performances for real madrid. I agree with you however when you say he would have developed into a better player under wenger than anywhere else.

Well he's right, he didnt learn a thing from Wenger. Because the first thing Wenger would've taught that little cunt was that he should be dignified. True he shouldn't ave left when he did, he's a decent player, but the guy himself is an absolute Arsehole. Fuck him, one of the ones who wern't good enough, and now he's gone to a club that suits him, a club with no morality whatsoever. Fuck him, the man's a cunt.

Well said Wrighty,

I normally agree with your opinions concerning the Arsenal, but I think you are a bit off this time.

I think Diarra is a cracking player, and would have filled the void left by Flamini better than Denilson and Song. It's a shame he wasn't a bit more patient, but when players moan to the papers as much as him, they have to go.

I think Song has come on leaps and bounds this season, I had written him off, but he's proved me wrong. I don't think Denilson will ever be a holding player, he's more of a passer and creator like Cesc. I think Diarra is better than both of them though.

The way I see it Diarra is a great player and we should've kept him.

Trust me you Gooner fans, like him or hate him, Diarra would have taken Arsenal to another level.
There is absolutely no one in your current squad that provides you with what Diarra would have given you in the middle of the park. The kind of stuff that Vierra provided you.
Flamini was the next option and although not as good as Diarra, he did all of the clean up work , chasing, defending , tackling that you just can't get with any degree of effectiveness out of Song, Dijorou(sp) on any one else that you play there.
You lost over the two legs to Chelsea because they just wore you down in the middle of the park. Men against boys.

WC--Real Madrid have learned from the mistake of letting Makelele go because they didn't want to meet his salary requirements.
They have all (players, coaches, managers and Board) gone on to publicly state that it was huge mistake and that he was the GLUE!!!!
Vierra was Arsenal's glue--not Henri, not Berkhamp, not Pirres--Vierra!!!
Fabregas, as good as he is and I like him, cannot function without the Flamini's and Gilbertos around him. Would be 30% better with a Diarra along side him.
Denilson,Nasri and the others give you the same qualities as Fabby (touch players, nice tight ball control, good movement off the ball, great supporting runs and angles (if players don't track them !!). Arshavin, Eduardo,Rosicky(sp)Walcott, Adebayor,VanPersie are cut from the same piece of cloth.
Eboue and Sagna are similar--and offer some defensive ability but they are better going forward.
Dijorou wants to be Fabgregas and Song is average at best.
Average Teams that make the commitment to deny Arsenal space and get physical, tend to have some success against Arsenal.
Good teams have a bit more success when they apply the same tactics.
Chelsea and United not only match them with pure football ability but are physically stronger and have real success against Arsenal because they combine the silky football with toughness and Chelsea completely wore them down in the FA Cup semis, employing the above.
O'Shea or maybe even Brown or Evans, Rio, Vidic, Evra will get stuck in. The brazilians twins as good as they are going forward, make a tackle.
Fletcher or Anderson or Park will get stuck in and harass them into bad passes.
Rooney and Tevez will track back and force Toure and Sylvetsre into bad passes and Rooney will play wide and stop Sagna going forward. Walcott will be denied the ball into his feet.
Now how do arsenal stop Berbatov? Sylvestre and Toure or Dijourou just can't live with his strength and great touch, allowing United to play him up front by himself. The qualities just alluded to allows United to play over the top to him and he maintains possession and brings the MF into the game.
Rooney will be to much for Sagna and Ronaldo will destroy Gibbs.Remember now, Sagna and Gibbs looked confused and twitchy against Chelsea last week. The stage was to big for them and this is a bigger stage
Over two games --united by 1 or 2 goals.
Don't get carried away with this ridiculous hype about the 19 games unbeaten. There where 11 draws in the mix and the games that you won where against teams that average 11th place standing in the league.
Chelsea brushed you aside in the FA semis and Pool imploded. They should have had the game won in the first half, such was their dominance and clear cut chances. They opened up your back line with scary ease. You scored four goals -all from unbelievable defensive errors and the guy that scored them will be watching the CL semis from the stands.
Experience factor in games of this magnitude:
Van Der Saar--been there many times
Rio--same
Vidic--has a few big ones under his belt and lives for these matches
Evra--same
O'Shea-been there many times
Scholes-veteran at his stuff
Giggs-veteran at this stuff
Carrick--been there a few times
Rooney--as young as he is--is a veteran of this stuff
Ronaldo--loves this stage
You won't get a nervous bunch--what you will get is a group of men that shine on this type of stage.
Will your boys have the nerve and toughness to match up? Game on-- I can't wait!!!!

Well said---there was a time that arsenal could battle on all fronts with the top teams. They had balance and they had a swagger that was based on earned admiration for their attractive football and for their ability to mix it up when things got a little rough. In fact with Keown, Parlour, Adams, Vierra and Pettie teams complained about how physical they where. Ok, they complained that they where thugs and having a library full of those matches, let's just say, I pine for any one of them in the current set up. We have become all style and while that gets you 4th place, it doesn't win you trophies. It's been 4 years now--4 long and painful years.
In the meantime Fergie continues to fill up the united trophy case , like they need more, Chelsea picks up the rest and then there's pool who have even won another European Cup and if they pick up one or two more players will likely be the top dog next season.
Arsenal seems to get younger, more skillful and pleasing on the eye.I thought that the ultimate reason for participating was to win trophies.
Brazil figured this out and it's time for Wenger to do the same.
