Don't laugh when I say this. Adebayor could be one of the most dangerous footballers on this planet. I really mean it. No, I haven't been smoking da cronic or sipping on some hennessy. The Togo Kid could be one of the most feared players in the universe, but he has to want it.

It's no good him thinking he has made it already. He hasn't. Sure he has cash in his pocket but should that be enough for a man who could go on to become one of the best? I think he believed he had made it but has come round to the fact he hasn't. And that he could. Cuckoo.

I've given Ade a lot of stick this season. And rightly so. The money-grabbing basta.....I was one of his staunchest supporters last season though. And I want that Ade back. The one who grafts and chases a lost cause. The Ade who shits the life out of John Terry and makes him cry. The Dancing Ade.

Yes, Ade has been a bit of Togo Tosspot this campaign but I'm starting to think that he has turned the corner. Maybe putting ice on his swollen head has helped but there is no doubt an in-form Adebayor is a massive plus for Arsenal.

Maybe Ade has seen the light. He got his £4,890,732 a week contract but perhaps finally he has got the message. Strolling round the Emirates, arms flying everywhere will not win him many friends but the hard-working Ade we saw last season will.

Seeing his Cro-Zillian team-mate may have hit home some truths for Ade. While he appeared to take his talent for granted Eduardo was busy trying to save his career. And he is loved for it. Ade could do with some of Eduardo's humility, perhaps he has.

I hope we see more of the Adebayor we saw on Saturday. Believe me, he could become the biggest threat in world football. But he has to want it. And not just make his wallet fatter.

Keep it Goonerish............

first? wow. I'm still not convinced he's turned the corner. Adebayor hasnt progressed beyond the grafting. I'm surprised to think you believe he can be the best footballer in the world. What HAVE you been smoking wrighty?

I don't think he can become the best footballer in the world but he can become one of the biggest threats.

Ferdinand and Terry have already said he is the hardest player to play against in the Premiership.

when I first heard of Wenger getting Ade I was like Ade-WHO? He was tall, not the most skillful and sometimes didn't look very bright on the field. But he was a trier (if thats a word) and his goal at OT cemented his place temporarily in gunners hearts. since then he has strutted around like its the adebayor show. The man needs to realize he needs Cesc killer balls to make him look half as effective, but I see what you mean. There aren't many players that offer what Ade on his best day can.

Can we please stop linking to this northlondondivide blog? It's rubbish and not worth our time.

This blog, however, is fantastic. Good post.

wrighty

you forgot when he learns the offside rule and learns how to finish, then he can be dangerous...

adebayor can not play with van persie simple as that it will never work

Nice wish - will never happen.

1. No first touch
2. No positional sense
3. No left foot
4. No concept of offside rule
5. No one-chance-goal ability
6. No way

Carlos Vela on the other hand.....

2 chances 2 goals saturday though better than the other forwards at arsenal apart from eduardo

i agree with wrighty. he has scored 30 goals a season. who is to say he cant do it again?
drogba was useless at adeybayors age. adeyaboyr has like 3 to 5 years to reach his best. i actually think he has quite good first touch.

Was it at Fulham last season when he and Rosicky were vs 1 defender and Adebayor kept offside the whole move?.... even Rosicky was shouting at him telling him to get onside... lol! we lost the ball...

Give him credit.COMPARE him to £30m Berbatov, any spurs striker and realise how silly ur hate 4 him is.With all his eye catching skills,Van-perse is not prolific. would a van-persi-Eduardo partnership work?i dont see it with 2 left-footed players taking same space. AWESOME footballer going through hard spell but getting countless abuse frm own fans(sad fans). Remember he's young as well hasnt even reached his peak yet.

Adebayor will prove his worth, if he scores a vital away goal against the Yellow Submarines. He'll win everyone back if he does.

Ade is feared when he has good work rate. When he plays hard, he runs tirelessly and puts pressure on defenders. He is even willing to track back and defend. However, that is when he plays hard, which he was v. Man City but not most of the game this season. If he keeps his work rate and improve on his finishing, then yes, he can be very dangerous.

Quite frankly your so-called praise of Ade is hypocritical. Ade struggled when the whole team struggled. At the time the players needed an arm round their shoulders but instead bloggers like you turned like vipers on the likes of Ade, Song, Denilson, Eboue and Gallas. AW tried to rebuild his midfield when the true mercenaries like Hleb and Flamini decided to ship-out. Fabregas came back from the Euros truly knackered and was never able to deliver the passes that Ade feasted on in the past. Now that AW's faith in his young players is beginning to pay-off, you come with this mealy-mouth attempt to on one hand sing the big-man's praises and, on the other, fault Ade for your becoming part of the early-season lynch mob.

Spot on wrighty totally agree with you ade hasn't been fantastic this season and so does the team now the team is in shape and i think so is ade that is the philosophy a single striker at his age will not play when his team is woeful even messi will struggle ade is back in form and deserves the praise hey guys check out my own blog http://www.arsenalspeak.blogspot.com its a new blog and i'll like you to read my post thanking you for commenting in advance

I also was one of Adebayor's biggest fans last year. Me and my fellow Gooners always have a pound on the first goal scorer when we are watching together. Last season I won so many times I thought it would be a good idea this season to put an extra pound of my money in if he missed a chance (thank god not if he strayed offside) I'm regreting it but I still have faith in his overall abilities in what he brings to the side. 30 goals in all comps last year was a fantastic acheivment. Lets just hope he can continue his goal scoring exploits from the weekend! I really feel we can come away with a big win and put the tie to bed 3-1!

21 Premiership starts and 10 goals.
Van Persie, 21 Premiership starts and 9 goals.

His job is to score goals right? He's done better than 'wonderboy, can't do not wrong' van Persie so far this season.

Comparing Van Persie and Ade is pointless. RVP is becoming more like DB while Ade is the only one who can give defenders a tough time with his strength and height.

Havent posted here in a few months. Back then i was calling for Arshavin. The man has coome in and the mood around the Emirates has completely lifted.

He's been a breath of fresh air,it shows what difference spending money can make. We were in big trouble but now theres a sense of much needed optimism. I said the perogative of this year was to qualify for the CL next year and to show signs of a title challenge also. And thankfully i think were ok on both counts.

The likes of Denilson and Song have matured, i still want a DM but they are now good squad players. At the start of the season there was a sense of despair and worry and it was proven on the field.

Cant help but think by the start of next season there will be a resemblence to the start of 07/08 where despite losing Henry there was still a feeling of hope and excitement.

I'd take a score draw here all day long, I think a lot of people are taking Villarreal very lightly indeed, which is exactly the mistake our supporters made last time.

I remember coming out of the ground after that 1st leg in 06 and everyone was complaining that we had only won 1-0 and that complacency could and should have bitten us in the arse for the second leg where Villarreal should have won by three clear goals at least.

They are an excellent side, with an unrivalled home record and they are in the same position in La Liga as we are in the Premiership, so we have no reason to feel over confident. If we won 3-0 or 2-0, I'd be absolutely astounded quite frankly.

REMEMBER THAT ITS NOT EASY TO PLAY AS A LONE-STRIKER ARSENAL FANS,YOU CANT ECPECT HIM TO CHASE AND BE AT END OF CROSSES. CANT BE 2-PLACES

Ade has been complacent this season. Knowing he have no rival with Eduardo injured and Bendtner yet to establish as a great striker. But there is a change after he is injured. Chances are given to Bendtner for the starting spot and ,I think, he really give Adebayor a food for tought with his tiredless display, the run he made, his positioning except his goal scoring ability. He really lift the side when there is no Adebayor. His partnership with Eduardo is better compared to Adebayor and RVP. With Eduardo scoring 3 goals in 3 appearance really will make Ade work hard for his money. After the injuries where he saw a another striker capable of replacing him, now he getting the ball in the net with 4 goals in 3 appearance (1 with Togo). And so is Cesc. Wathing the side unbeaten during his absent really rejuvenate him. He now knows that Arsenal can with even without him playing like how he replace Vieira when PV injured. Sometimes I do think there is a good for some player if they are injured and the team doing really well. It will make them return to the side with more rejuvenate display.
