My opinion? We won't replace Ade

It seems that the Togonator is off to sunny Manchester. And that is the real reason for his move. Because it has been scientifically proven that Manchester is more sunnier than London. It has nothing to do with money. I promise. (fingers crossed)

When the deal finally happens every striker in the world of football will be linked with a move to Arsenal. I'm gonna try my hardest not to believe any of it. Actually, I won't try. I will refuse to believe it. And I'll wear a blindfold and ear muffs.

I can't spend all my summer, and my holiday to Lanzarote, getting all excited with the news that David Villa or Klaas-Jan Huntelaar are set to wear the Arsenal shirt. I don't want to wet my knickers in excitement only to find that Villa has signed for Barcelona and Huntelaar has ended up at Stuttgart.

I don't actually believe we will sign a striker to replace Ade. I reckon that Wenger will look at the current squad and see that we have enough talent at his disposal already. That could be dangerous but when you look at who we have available upfront I could understand why Arsene wouldn't feel the need to sign a striker.

With Adebayor's departure we could use Arshavin in his favourite role behind the front-man. Holy shit I'm looking forward to that!

The worrying thing for me though is I'll now turn my attention to Arsene signing a defensive midfielder so instead of wetting my knickers despairing over us not signing a front-man I'll probably be pissing my pants over that instead!

It's going to be a long summer. And an expensive one. I'm gonna be buying a lot of knickers and pants.

Keep it Goonerish........

Yeah i agree i think he would of thought from last year that bendtner had done a good enough job therfore cash in on Ade. I also think it will be put upon him to buy dm but hey we shall wait and seee....

I think wenger will pocket the money, trust Bendnter ( who got around 15 goals last season while missing loads of chances, maybe he can turn that into 30 goals) i would buy anyone, plus we have Eduardo.....

hopefully he goes and gets a defensive midfielder with the money maybe Matuidi or Cana for about 7 million and pocket the 18 mil. and we are all happy

i agree wrighty. good post again

we dont need to replace ade... we have enough strikers who can do the job and it gives more playing time to vela, theo and nikki...

lets use the money to rebuild the midfield...

buy a CM and a wideman...and play AA up top...

watch out PL wengerballs back...none of this long ball lets all get caught offside happy horseshit thats been part of our game for the past few seasons....

i agree. our midfield is rammed so maybe he will push arshavin and theo up top and trust bendtner and buy another winger.
1 other thought, with downing going to villa, where does that leave ashley young?

Jonjon or anybody else too,

How would you feel about Robben?

Lack of chances at Madrid. I think he is class,

JonJon said...

robbens a good player but his he creative enough to play our system????

if we are going to take part in the real madrid jumble sale what about sneijder???

We do need to sign another experience striker to replace Ade. Simply because Ade is an experienced Striker and once he leaves and that would leave us with the inexperienced Bendtner (so to speak), Vela. The experienced strikers left would be Eduardo and Van Persie who are likely to be injured at some point expecially Van P, that would then leave us with Eduardo and the inexperienced players to pair with Eduadro. This is why we need another experienced player to replace Ade

I agree and think Wenger should get a quality CB and DM instead because there isn't any good strikers for the money Arsenal are prepared to pay. I don't think Bendtner is good enough for Arsenal but if he played more games woul probably get 20-25 goals with the chances we create and he helps defend set pieces with height which is something we're lacking. I prefer a natural goal scorer like Eduardo but would love to see Arshavin off the striker like you say, but off who? i don't think RVP leads the line very well he goes down too easily but still a class player. Huntelaar could be the answer and would link well with RVP.

JonJon said...

i think huntelaar is a quality finisher...

not really a wenger ball type player but a proper finisher is what wengerballl needs to kill those moves off and kill off teams... i think huntelaar would be a good buy but id rather see more midfielders first...

and if its a choice between the two i chose the midfielders...

hate to jump on the bandwagon but we definitely need a midfield enforcer in the flamini mould. was watching some youtube vids of him and realised what he brought to our team. I miss mad dog matthieu dearly.

Our attacking midfield options have to be the best in the premiership with fab, rosicky, arshavin, nasri and co, I dont think we need a winger, especially if wengerball returns. If we do, we have walcott and vela, both far from finished products I know but both have plenty of promise about them.

Do you think we'll see kolo or billy leave now? will ade's exit spark a chain reaction?

We do not need to replace ade, but we should definitely use the money to drag in a flam/essien/diarra (cringe) type player...

JonJon said...

agree

we dont need a 'winger' as such but we could use another creative wideman...in the rosicky mould...

vela and theo arent really cut out for the wide role...

Could this be a masterstroke by Adebeyor? If he turns round now and says "I want to stay at Arsenal, to repay the fans" Would all be forgiven and forgotten?

hopefully the signing of arshavin has shown wenger that money can buy quality and that he goes out and spends 18m on huntelaar. then maybe the rest on flamini lol that would be a dream come true. i read somewhere the spuds were gettin him for 7.5m... WTF is up with that someone please tell me?!?!?

why does evryone think bendtner is so good? he is clumsy and never scores league goals. I do think ade leaving is good for us as it gives us money for a class DMF like Diarra, Cana or maybe even resign Viera. I also think selling ade will mean Arshavin can play as a SS behind either Eduardo or RVP. We could also use some of that money to buy a new Cb and a understudy for Sanga because we had loads of defensive injuries and were left vulnersble at times.

Still think we need another CB and lose Senderos, Silvestre. Get Keown to teach us how to defend because i can't remember the last time i Watched Arsenal not expecting to concede even against shit promoted clubs. We won't find another Thierry Henry but we need someone who just wants to score goals and not pass the ball to death. We need a Torres from somewhere does anyone know where?

What a wanker !!! Now he wants to think his move over because he wont be perceived as money driven and that it could send a wrong signal to people in Togo..........what a wanker,i offically hate him more now then five minutes ago.He is a snake and you cant trust him further then you can throw him.

Abs, i don't think Bendtner is that good either but he probably would get more goals with more games but it would be against shit teams and then he would be made to look crap against good defenders. Didn't Gallas start out as a striker when he was a young lad? he'd be better than Bendtner and it would keep him apart from Toure! only joking i think.

This will be a magnificent deal Wrighty. 25 mill for a good striker, but a troublesome one too. His departure will benefit this young teams unity, and one man in particular, Bendtner. This guy is the real deal, the main reason why I believe Wenger is letting Adebayor leave. We now have a ''war chest'' so to speak, where we can really strengthen the team. 7-10m for Matuidi? Bring him in! Same general fee for Chamakh? Why not!? Then we still have money left over to further strengthen if Wenger feels the need to.

Bring on the new season, this is it for our young guns! They shall not dissapoint! :)

Don't know about Bendtner but Eduardo will step up and Arshavin will be awesome. Think we just need more fight in midfield where our small players get bossed and out muscled at times.

Get Kenwyne Jones, he is better than Bendnter and a handful for Vidic, Terry,Skrtel et al.

I agree with R. Kelly (ha) on this one as well as Wrighty7 indirectly:

I feel with the players we have we are looking good to play a 4-3-3 next season. Eduardo or Bendtner can spearhead the front 3 with Arshavin and RVP playing as wing forwards. Walcott and Vela can be considered wing forwards as well with Walcott possibly considered to spearhead the attack at times. It may even be the best system to accomodate Diaby who could be best as a wing forward. With all these just mentioned that makes 7 players to fill a front 3. I think we shouldn't buy another striker as sometimes too many options complicates things.
I would prefer AW to spend it on a quality DM. The deeper lying trio in midfield could be combinations of Fab, Nasri, Denilson, Song, Rosicky and maybe Diaby. I think one more DM would set our squad up nicely. That would make 13 players to fill the 6 available positions of midfield and up front. This doesn't even take into account other emerging youngsters like Ramsey, Wilshere, Simpson e.t.c. I hope he doesn't buy another striker to placate the fans and I hope the fans are tolerant and smart enough to look at what we already have. It is always thought that you buy like for like when you lose a player, but in this case I think we should lose a striker but gain a quality DM.

Chamakh's a done deal since June but that Togo-Twat was supposed to join city on July 1st but he's squeezing for more cash. The Cunt! But he'll join sooner or later 'cos there's no-where else for him to go and Chamakh will join arsenal on the bvery next weekend for 8.2m

Matuidi will sign in August.

i think wenger will put his trust on bendtner's shooting to get it right this season. last season bendtner missed a lot of easy chances and he could easily be our top goalscorer. we all know wenger trust bendtner with his life so it is very likely arsenal won't sign another striker. we also got better finisher in eduardo. one area wenger might think to strengten is defensive. wenger might think seriously about it with now we got lot of cash from adebayor sale.

I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE NIKKI SHUT YOU GUYS UP!!! Just watch him this season. He guys crapped on Ade before he score 30 goals. Bendtner is better then Ade was at his age. Every season he score more and this season he will score more then 15 goals. Just wait

Bendtner will replace Twatdebayor. Formation changes too 4-3-3.
The Danish national team always play 4-3-3 and nick has done quite well.
First XI: almunia, sagna-gallas-vermaelen-clichy, new dmf-fab-nasri, arsh-bendy-RvP
(my national bias would recommend Christian poulsen for the vacant dmf role, plus he's cheap and a great player)
second XI: fabi, eboue-toure-djourou-gibbs, song-denilson-rosicky, walcott-eddie-vela
and that still leaves diaby, ramsey, wilshire, traore and many more. There really is an amazing deepth to this arsenal team.

Emmanuel Adebayor has taken even longer to pass a medical than he did to pass an opponent.

I'm not suggesting he's idle but how come Arsenal have never needed a work permit for him? The world's most overrated striker is on his way, medical permitting, to Manchester City, whose stars were this week presented by mega-rich club owner Sheikh Mansour with £168,000 watches - they don't tell the time, only how much the players have earned in the last half-hour.

Emmanuel, named after a porn star and, with kit on, even more pointless, is 25-1 with Corals to be the Premier League's top scorer next season and 12-1 to score in both fixtures against Arsenal.

Yesterday I asked a friend who hires salesmen how he can tell whether a guy is good at his job. He told me if you want to hire a good salesman, look for an ugly man with a beautiful wife.

I've no idea what Roy Hodgson's missus looks like but I wouldn't mind betting she's a stunner. Hodgson has proven first-class at selling turkeys to Phil Brown, a man with several already.
