Why?

I can't work out what Samir Nasri has to gain by having a pop at William Gallas. I think it is a stupid move by him and Arsene Wenger needs to clamp down on players giving these idiotic interviews.

Personally I couldn't give a shit whether Nasri and Gallas hate each other more than I hate Harry Redknapp's twitchy face. It should have been kept in-house. All this does is give the haters out there more ammo to have a go at Arsenal.

Revealing a number of players do not speak to Gallas isn't the brightest thing Nasri has done and in truth it just shows that the defender was right. Samir has shown a lack of respect to a man who has achieved a lot more than he has in the game. Just as he did on the team-bus with the French national squad.

I admit that William Gallas isn't the most popular player amongst Gooners but in my opinion the man deserves a gee because he has been brilliant this season. Highly professional and I think it will be a shame if he leaves the club.

Can you say the same about Samir Nasri? Personally he has disappointed me this campaign and how he can have the audacity to air our dirty laundry in public baffles me. There was no need. If he has a problem with Gallas then just get on with it and not whinge.

Arsene Wenger needs to be stronger with his players and not let them say things to the media that will bite Arsenal on the arse. Andrey Arshavin does it a lot and needs to be curbed too. I understand that it's difficult to keep a leash on a fully-grown adult but he is their guvnor after all!

The media don't need an excuse to dig Arsenal out but maybe we aren't exactly helping ourselves are we?

Keep it Goonerish...............

Its a 2 year old interview re-hashed. Its what lazy hacks do on a slow news day.

Agree Wrighty.

At first glance its easy to cast Gallas as the villain, but on a second inspection it is Nasri who has stepped out of line. The boy is a boy, he has proved nothing yet he thinks he can come out and criticise a senior player.

Forget what Gallas is like off the pitch, on the pitch he has been 5 times the player Nasri has, Nasri is a spoilt kid who needs to get real.

He has been caught up with the hype around him in his early years. Yes he has potential but he has achieved zilch so far. Why does our club have so many young players with big egos?

This is not the first time we hear our youngsters speak out. Wenger has created an environment at Arsenal which has massaged the egos of these young losers, and losers is what they are until they win something.

Wenger needs to get tough and shut these boys up, it shows a complete lack of respect to club officials, fellow players and fans.

Remember when Gallas was finally stripped of the Arsenal Captaincy? Did he not give specific details about two players fighting in the dressing room following the 4-4 home fiasco with the Spuds? Did he not mention the bus incident with Nasri then as well? Criticize Nasri if you like - he certainly has had an indifferent season - but Gallas does not have the moral high ground here. I shall go further and state I will be happy to see the back of him. He may be a good defender, but he was a terrible captain and a rotten leader. When we needed a leader the most (Eduardo game at St. Andrews), Captain Gallas was hiding and having a strop!! Personally, I think all these comments are undignified - what happens in the dressing room should stay in the dressing room - but is seems that Gallas betrayed that confidence first.

Slow down, he hardly revealed Gallas has been grooming Tom Huddlstone for late night video game sessions. Just they don't talk and that it is not an issue. It's not big news and while we do get bad press, the players overall behave well. Don't go out like 16 year olds tasting their first supple of beer and women. The English press have little to report on us and it shows. The French press similarly are struggling and the chance to promote a bitter world cup absentee story could not be missed on the back pages when half the squad, find themselves on the front pages in the latest shameful sex scandal. No Gooners included. No story, no brainer. Just ignore. Cole and Sheringham hardly hid their dislike. Again non story.

Agreed. Wenger needs to do all he can to keep hold of Gallas next season. He's been a rock.

Mexes would be a good replacement if the one of the many reports are true

FUCKING HELL!!!!!

Thats two posts that I 100% agree with you on.

You starting to scare me now!

its an article thats been reproduced from 2 years ago. trying to make there "gallas is leaving" articles seem more genuine ...

gallas is a loser, he was a bench warming left back replacement at chelsea when they were with ourinho and i dunno what wenger thought he would achieve by employin the gumshield wearing ponce to man our defence

It's not 2 years old, but it's major tabloid sensationalism for sure. I heard the interview here in france, really nothing to get worked up about. He just said no, they're not best pals but so what? 'You don't need to be 11 best friends on the pitch, as long as you are all fighting for the same shirt' is what he actually said. It was quite funny when they asked him later though if he had any recent news on Gallas's injury. He just smiled and said 'er......no I don't' while everyone laughed.

OllyinFrance said...

By the way; Mexes and Toulalan? Please no! Second rate.

Paulie says,
Its not too often I find your posts very good. In general I think you're too pro wenger and afraid to upset the numerous "Arsene knows" morons that stalk these sites due to the fact they've got no life, but on this ocassion I agree with you, however I would go so far as to tell Nasri to shut the fuck up and do more of his talking on the pitch instead of the newspapers. This guy would probably shit himself were he locked in a room with Gallas but hes a mouthpiece who can never back up what he says. Keep up the good posts and I just might start reading you more often.
ps. Wenger out

Oh dear

These sad angry little brats who think calling a Gooner an AKB, or arsene knows twat simply because they wont follow the mindless media fed herd in calling the manager a cunt all the fucking time, all day long.

How fucking boring is that? And how sad an existence must they have to need to spout the same old shite every day of their poxy lives?

as opposed to the morons who have nothing better to do than go scrawling through these sites slagging off people who don't share his opinion?

As for wenger out i think thats a fairly ridiculous comment

This is water under the bridge, and a non story. Players not liking each other is just the way it goes at top level football. That's why they are called pros because when they wear the shirt everything is put aside. Which to Nasri's great credit is all he said. If Gallas caused Toure to want to leave and he has a rift with others then he should go. His injury record is there for all to see. Also he is a bit mental not in a good Lehmann type way but in a bad, nervous Fabianski type way. Bring in a starting CB to partner Vermaelan for 5-15 million, who can be at the club for five or more years. Sorry to disagree Wrighty, but they are not robots and should have a personality to them. If all pros were fucking cardboard twats where's the fun in that.

What a heap of crap..... haven't any of you noticed the decline in our defence since Gallas arrived, plus he has not had a good season he has made countless errors and mistakes plus we all know he is a major disruptive influence, if he had been that good then Chelski would never have traded him!!!! Another bad Wenger decision.

Bring in some fkin English players Arsenal ffs.

If Denilson was from Croydon would he ever get in the Arsenal team?

Essentially though is he not the reason Toure finally decided to leave. Toure stating that he tries to play the senior while giving no respect to those around him. Nasri should not air this stuff in public but this is the first time we have heard of Gallas' ego getting in the way of his relationships with other players.

i normally agree with you Wrighty .but not this time ,Nasari is a very good p;ayer and the type of bloke we need more of.Unlike Gallas

yes this Interview is old and re-published by the newspapers / whoever has just to annoy arsenal fans and have a dig at our club. I would like to add something quite interesting actually, im a friend of emmanuel Eboue yes eboue, i was talking to him last week before he headed off to africa for pre world cup training, i asked him whether he thought fabregas was leaving and he gave me a straight and honest oppinion that he isnt only due to the fact wenger has promised him and others in the dressing room some very highly remarked signings during this summer and if so fabregas is willing to see his whole contract out. i would like to hear your views , but in my opinion i see us having a very busy transfer window and i have high hopes for next season.

no offense wrighty, i've never had a problem with you at all, still don't.

but before you go on and slag my favourite player, you should probably realize what sami did on the bus.

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/2973830/Samir-Nasri-lifts-lid-on-William-Gallas-snub.html

there's nothing of malice in any of it. just read a bit more before you write your blog man

gallas especially, given his history has no moral highground like someone said. if five players don't speak to him, he's gotta be out.

and given the huge respect i believe arsene has for sami as a player, i think gallas is out for sure

enjoy the summer guys

maybe it doesnt give "the haters" new ammo.

-Maybe it just confirms to thoose of us living in realitty that so many things are STILL wrong and Wenger has ONCE AGAIN not been able to keep this in house...

Gallas has unsettle Chelsea, and now Arsenal. He forced Toure out of Arsenal and i truly believe Toure is a much more better player and person than Gallas. Toure has shown so much passion and love for Arsenal, the way he hugged Pires after a CL match really touched me. Gallas is simply overrated and he is only good but not great. Sol has just shown how much better he is compare to Gallas, only a pity he is already 35. Gallas-TV partnership is not that great either..

....AND ARSENE WENGER DID NOTHING ABOUT IT??? USELESS BARGGER!!

If Denilson was from Croydon he would be too busy fucking corpses to play football :P

Fuck off Gallas. You're not, and never were Arsenal.

My ex worked at Sketch and when the Arsenal lads were celebrating a birthday there a few years back he was the only one smoking and drinking. He also told me Jens footed the bill. What a gent. Gallas is finished anyway, not sure why you're sticking up for him.

So here we go again. Cesc has hardly put one foot on Spanish soil and the Spanish media are all over him again with all kind of stories about his move to Barcelona.

Now to understand how things work we must know that in Spain you have newspapers that are almost from the first to the last letter all about football and sports. Those newspapers are fighting a struggle with each other and have to come up with the best headlines possible. Some of the most important ones are Marca and El Mundo and Diario Sport.

You can imagine that a headline: “Cesc stays at Arsenal” does not sell many newspapers in Spain or in Barcelona. What could sell you more newspapers is a headline: ‘Cesc on his way to Spain”. The average Spanish sports fan would buy the paper to see that it possible only says that Cesc is coming in with the plane to join the national team. But the main thing would be that they have sold a newspaper.

You can imagine a headline: “Cesc is on his way to Barcelona” will sell you many newspapers, especially in the neighbourhood of Barcelona. Again when you read the article could find in it that Cesc is on his way to join the Spanish national team and that he is flying in from London to Barcelona to meet his family. But the main thing would be that they have sold a lot of newspapers.

Now imagine for a second that you are another Spanish sports newspaper and you have to make sure that you sell also a lot of newspapers. What would you do? Well you could invent “friends” of Cesc. Or you could invent “family” of Cesc. And you could invent that they have said that “Cesc is coming to Barcelona and that he has agreed a 4 year deal”. Now how about that. I think this will sell a lot of newspapers in Spain.

Now what the Spanish newspapers invent to sell newspapers is one thing. The thing that is frightening is that many bloggers and even main media take this up and reprint it as the truth and nothing but the truth. Even if you have only one brain cell working properly you must take everything that is printed in those Spanish newspapers not with a pinch of salt but with a whole mountain of salt.

Unfortunately some people don’t even have that one brain cell properly working and they believe what is written in those newspapers or should I say tabloids because that is what they are in fact. And so we have the whole summer once again with the same old stories over and over again. I can bet for a few pounds that let us say in 2 weeks time there will be a newspaper or a blog that runs the story all over again and again the same blogs will bring it as new and hot news and declare that Cesc now really will be leaving and that we are doomed and that all is lost.

I think sometimes it must be tiring when you are Cesc Fabregas. Every word you say will be misquoted whenever they can and will be pulled out of the context just to make new headlines.

Anonymous said...

By the way, the story that Cesc has agreed a 4 year contract with Barcelona and now the only thing in the way is a transfer agreement between Arsenal and Barcelona would mean that Barcelona, Cesc and his manager all would have broken the rules. Cesc is still under a contract with Arsenal and Arsenal and Arsène Wenger have on many occasion stated that there are only 3 players allowed to leave this summer and that are: Campbell, Gallas and Silvestre because they are the only one who are at the end of their contract.

I think this was clear enough or should be clear enough for everyone that Arsenal will not allow anyone to even talk to Cesc, let alone let him sign a contract.

So I would just ask to the Arsenal bloggers out there: please don’t fall in the trap from the Spanish media. If they want to spread lies and rumours just let them. If the media in England want to step into the trap set up by the Spanish press and reprint these story there is nothing that can be done about it, but we can be smarter and laugh it away.

To finish up I would just like to add one little story that I heard today from a friend of mine who has been living in Spain the last couple of years. He heard from his cleaning lady who knows someone who is living near the home of Messi that they have seen a car with a French plate driving slowly by and in that car there was a person who looked like Arsène Wenger and who asked they way to Messi’s home.

In his car was a document clearly visible on official Arsenal paper with the words “contract” on it. According to this source it said something like 10 years and had clearly the name of Messi on it.

So what do you make of that? If the Cesc thing would be the truth, maybe it could mean that Wenger has asked Barcelona to swap a Cesc for a Messi.

Don’t believe this? Then why believe the story of the friends from Cesc thing? I can make it up just like they do. Or maybe I do know someone who knows someone who knows Messi? Nothing is easier spread than a lie. Remember this until the next season starts and we will see our captain back in our red and white leading us to victory.

it just goes to show these new generation of players (mostly french players) are just over paid babys thinking they are somthing great soon as they get a tag line like "The Next Zidane / Thierry" ect ect

Nasri has to much swagger about him, and ever since after the porto game his been anonymous and predictable for most parts of the season,

him not getting into the france team is a good kick in the teeth for him, it might teach him to do better
