Salomon Kalou-Oo To Be A Gooner?

Twitter (Follow me on @_Wrighty7) and the interweb is buzzing like a bumble bee today that Chelsea man Salomon Kalou could be on the move to Arsenal.

Now I believe this is the sort of deal that will be like Marmite to Gooners. Some will like it, and some will hate it.

I happen to think that Kalou would be a very good signing for the club. And if the reported fee of £3m is true then we have got a real bargain.

Of course I concede that the Ivorian isn't the 'Galactico' transfer that a lot of Arsenal fans want Wenger to make, but he is a proven EPL player. And a decent one at that.

Arsenal's style of play would suit Kalou as much as a sarong suits David Beckham. Very well indeed.

He is rapid, works hard, can score goals, and is very versatile. Kalou wouldn't need time to adapt to England, and from what I have read in the past, would love to join us.

What more do you want?

The fact that Chelsea want him to sign a new contract with them speaks volumes to me. They clearly still want him there, so if they rate him surely he isn't the 'shit player' I've seen him called?

This is the sort of signing I can see Wenger making. Yes it may appear like another stingy deal, but Kalou is a player that the Arsenal gaffer has admired from afar for a long time.

Kalou has six months left on his current Chelsea deal. Arsene is not being 'tight' nor is he hunting round the bargain bucket again.

This a real opportunity to gain a decent acquisition to the squad at a very good price.

Put it this way, if S*urs signed Salomon Kalou for £3m then I would be very pissed off and would question why Arsenal didn't.

Wouldn't you?

Keep It Goonerish.......

he's a decent player and could play upfront or on the left in Gervinhos/Arshavins position. However he is from the ivory coast so he'll be at the african cup of nations so if we sign him this month then he wont be able to feature until the competition is over.

I heard he is going to PSG

I think he's shit

My problem is his wage demands are more than he deserves, and will use up alot of our wage budget which could be used for a better player, also although he scored he can score his finishing is not great like most our forward like, he is also another African, so no back up wen we need it, I don't mind kalou I just think he's another which will b good if we get the great player we need! We nee someone that will majorly improve th first 11 not squad

Absolutely terrible signing! Ask any Chavsea fan, they all want shot of him. WTF are we doing even considering a player like Kalou, another 'squad' player in a mediocre Chelsea team?

Its signing like these that make the 'wenger Out' brigade stronger. Henry & Kalou.... Here's a question, would Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern, ManU, Milan, etc., sin Henry & Kalou? It's like we're holding up a white flag and saying we're no longer an elite club.

I think that, whether we end up signing Kalou or not, there is a real goal scoring machine inside this player just waiting to be released under the right manager and playing with the right team.

He's one of those players that can blossom, and who hasn't even reached his peak yet.

If this proposed deal happens, it'll be a good bargain for Arsenal.

he is hopeless

I've always rated Kalou. Wages of 90K/wk shouldn't be a problem if his transfer costs 3 million or so.

never seen him play a game where i went, GOOD LORD WISH HE WAS WEARING AN ARSENAL SHIRT
we have enough rubbish in the squad already, and sadly he is a wenger type player

Wrighty mate ;

what a truly great signing that would be...kalou..oh yes !!..
just the signing the americans wants us to do...cheap..no good..and leading to the further demise of Our Beloved Arsenal..

then again we dont have any money so i guess we should be fine with it..

We are being RIPPED off, time to get rid of the henchman nazidis and the hollywood hooker kroenke..

how long are we going to accept the demise...like wenger himself says..we're not in it for winning anymore the FA Cup is worht shit..Shame on You Wenger..!!!!!

His agent has planted this story, all part of negotiating a better deal for his client.

The difference between him and Chamakh is minimal.

If Chamakh has been at Arsenal for all this time why not Kalou????

AOC aside, I've been totally underwhelmed with all of our signings over the last few seasons, I'm praying its agent-talk to get a larger fee.

What we don't need is another average squad player like Kalou! some genuine quality please, not Chelsea rejects.

Of course Wenger likes him... French-African... plays 'anywhere' up front... not a good finisher... available on the cheap. Ticks every Wenger box going. We may get him if no one else goes in for him, thus allowing Gazidis and Wenger to haggle over the pennies and stretch the transfer out until the end of Jan.

you can't argue with his stats while at Chelski - 230 apps, 57 goals, 39 assists considering he's usually a player who comes off the bench. I think he could be a great asset for the club - better than Park!

Please God! Nooooooo!!!!! Why? As a replacement for Arshavin?, then fine, but not if this is our big signing. Whats the point? Another Wide forward who doesn't really score goals. He's not good enough for Chelsea so why would he be good enough for us? WQenger should be aiming higher than this. I hope he goes to PSG. Barge pole is springing to mind.

guaranteed to score goals, as opposed to chamakh and park.

wenger has always liked him...maybe he thinks he can get some better use out of him than chelsea. chelsea aren't exactly great at getting good players to produce the goods. *Cough* *Torres* *Cough*

he could be a good signing actually.

probably won't happen though.

i still want hazard in the summer.

There he goes again forever signing discards. If they deliver, well and good. What happens if they can't perform? Then it will be a waste of time. Yeah I know Wenger is a genius at spotting talent and reviving failed/injured players.
Campbell,Silvester,Suker, etc. If he has the funds and he doesn't use them to strengthen Arsenal with quality players and the gunners fail to clinch 4th place,I believe
Wenger has exceeded the time given to ignite the gunners challenge for trophies.
It seem to me the gunners are going back to their old tippy tappy way against leeds.Don't be surprised they get beaten by Swans and the red faced. It's very easy.
When the gunners attack breaks down as all attacks have to inevitably, the cue for the counter strike will be on. Yeah I know the gunner defence is better.I will believe it if they can get the better of these two teams.

kalou is a great player...none of you can play football so you are bigger shit a matter of fact you are all a load of shit.We would be lucky to get him. You so call fans disgust me, if arsene doesn't make a signing you mumble if he does you cry just shut the fuck up

Demba Ba was at West Ham last season and now he is on fire at Newcastle....Injury Prone but would you take now?

If Wenger signed him last summer you would of yelled "Another cheap signing"

Arteta was a last minute pick up and everyone was screaming at Wenger. Dont hear too many complaints now.

When Yaya Toure came over from Olympiacos for trials at Arsenal everyone was saying who? Take him now?

Its not an exact science but leave the recruiting to the professionals. Kalou is young, not injury prone and can be a real find for Arsenal.

PS: TH12's goal today could not have been scripted any better.....!

Arshavin or Kalou? Kalou any day of the week. I know Arshavin is technically superior, but it's not all about that....

I'd take him as a squad player any day of the week...but he's not the type of player who's going to convince RVP to stay

what a dick! man u have resigned paul scholes and milan signed david beckham on a short term loan not too long ago. people dont know what they are talking about.

I like him as player, he is not amazing but he will be cheap and will be much better than Chamakh. Unfortunately Chamakh lost his touch, i don't really know why...i rather have Kalou on the team plus he can play as a striker and on the wing
