Do you ever have regrets in life?

I do. And the biggest regret I have right now is those three blue aftershocks I did last night. I have the most horrible taste in world history swirling round my mouth and I blame those shots.

Anyways, I ask about regrets because I feel that Robin van Persie would regret not signing a contract with Arsenal.

Apparently talks are ongoing but if Robin van Persie did leave I sure he would find that the grass is not always greener on the other side; like many have found in the past.

He, and Cesc Fabregas, are the two biggest stars at the club and could he find that at another club? Maybe at Tottenham.

I understand if the contract hasn't been signed because he wants wage parity with Adebayor. van Persie must look at that big lump and think 'how the fuck does he get paid more than me?'

I think there are two sides to the coin though (there usually is) of course the Dutchman should be earning at least as much as the Togoman but he must take into account the amount of time he spends in the treatment room with Tomas Rosicky.

In a way van Persie owes everything to Arsenal and Arsene Wenger, the man who saved Robin's career from going down faster than Paris Hilton's french knickers.

He needs to sign this contract or he will regret it. Trust me. I know these things.

Keep it Goonerish................

If he cant muster to play for Arsenal for less then 80 grand a week he should pack his bag,it isnt as if he have won a single trophy by contributing anything apart from being on the treatment table more then Paris spreads he legs willingly,i am getting seriously annoyed with these underperforming stars like Van Persie,Adebayor they all think they are the dogs bollocks even though they have won zilch. What next??? Will adebayor insist on another pay rise and having his cock encrusted in gold and will Van Persie have stipulated into his contract that he should be entitled to fuck 12 french virgins every week........jesus,they are spoil rotten. And do remember the only thing they have ever done successfully is fail miserably.

Yeah, mate I have too many regrets to mention here, as for Robin I'm sure he'll sign a new deal as not so long time ago he was the one saying that it is important to keep our current squad together so that would be ridiculous to leave after these comments wouldn't it plus he seems to be quite happy with the possible signing of Tomas Vermaelen.

Not tying up Flamini's contract MUST be one of Wenger's biggest regrets. We could really use him now.

I wouldn't be too upset to see him go as long as he's replaced but not to leave for free. He doesn't suit our current system if were honest and is quite flimsy and weak. He's a decent player but over-hyped ridiculously. For him to do much better he needs players more intelligent than Adebayor and Walcott around him.

For fuck's sake where do cunts like Tyler get off? Flamini wanted an absurd amount of money that would have fucked our wage structure, so off he went to Milan, presumably with a bumper signing on fee.

He's gone. So just get the fuck over it and stop whining you, dippy cunt.

" Van Persie is not just looking at the financial aspects of the deal, especially with his wife pregnant with their second child.

He wants to be certain staying at Arsenal is the best decision for his career. "

RvP and his contract situation is not as big an issue as has been made out, IMO. He still has 2 years left on his deal and he is obviously happy at the club and living in London too.

Of course, some will say he is injury prone, he owes Wenger and should repay the faith shown in him, yadda yadda.... But also, he hasnt really said anything thast most Gooners say; we all want the club to be challenging again, we have no divine right to win anything andf have gone long spells in our past without doing so...

I am sure he will stay and give us a lot more enjoyment for years to come. Who ever said he doesnt fit our system any mot=re is clearly a reader of lazy assed, poorly researched hackneyed blogs!

The fella carried the team for months this season, and had the most assists in the league of ANY player....

Adebayor scored 24 premier league goals last season with no penalties, Van Persie's scored 11 this season with about three penalties. Wanting parity with Adebayor based on that is almost as absurd as Adebayor wanting Henry's wages after he did for one season what Henry did for five seasons running.

Basically neither of them should be near £80k a week considering we pay only slightly less wages than Man Utd. And if the club wants to pay them that much then there are young players earning far too much because we pay practically the same wages as Man Utd but haven't won anything in four years whereas they've won three premier league titles, a champions league and a league cup.

Flamini is a massive regret, Diarra an even bigger one for me considering he's probably been the best defensive midfielder in Europe since going to Madrid.

RVP has not play enough in the last 3 years to command 80K a week, he needs to score 25 goals a season for 2 years to get anything close to that. He needs to show some loyalty, considering how much we have put up with as injured ARSE!

well said anon-12.559 and danish gooner, Van-persi is like matt-le-tissier(scorer of great goals but where are your trophies)?. Cant understand why he thinks arsenal owe him,he's def NOT PROLIFIC. Wenger should get rid of both him and Ade as both only care about wages than trying to win trophies for the arsenal.

Spike said...

Who has said, for a fact he is after £8oK???

Oh, I see, it was in a completely unsubstantiated tabloid story... What other evidence do we need eh??? Baaaaaaah!

How about the evidence that several weeks ago, RvP has ALREADY stated the money being offered is NOT the issue, just he wanted a few assurances about the squad; players staying, new faces coming in...

But lets bring up a load of media fed bullshit to slate 1 of our best players

Wankers

80K isn't really the issue. He hasn't signed.presumably because he wants arsenal to show intention on winning premier league. It is this precise attitude that ticks me off...1 fit season...no pace... only can play in 442...great left foot that defenders get 3 seconds advance notice of...no chance holding off strong defenders with his arms flapping aroubd all over the place

DIPPY CUNT? Thats a first!

I never said that he wasn't asking for a lot of money, I just happen to think that no matter WHAT amount he was asking for, based on how these season went and where we were vulnerable, his engine would have been rather valuable.

he will sign eventually, he is also waiting to see who we sign and not just the wages issue. wenger is under pressure to buy, not only from certain members of the squad and the fans, but now even ex players like tony adams and DB10. also usmanov, whether u like it or not will b putting some kind of pressure on the board (even tho he isnt really given a proper input into board discussions i think). arsene knows he has to sign he is just making sure that he is going to get the right player, we still got 10 weeks of this nonsense left!

sol said...

it seems to me that whenever arsenal fans discuss anything, the debate always descends into the whole flamini/diarra thing. how predictable. they left already, we will sign a versatile defender no doubt who can play at dmf and cb. wenger wont wanna sign 2 many players as to restrict the progress of his younger players.

Players want the money first and trophys a distant second Ade,RvP,flamini,Bentley,Barry.Apart from Barry the rest havent put in the ground work and are not wrold class.Time to bring in players who care for the club Jay simpson awaiting wilshire awaiting and the club must show its pushing in the right direction an add some older wiser heads

Danish Gooner said...

Off course money is the issue anyone saying otherwise is naive. If money was not the object Wenger would now be fronting Cronaldo and Kaka and Villa,it is all about money, sadly !!!

Danish Gooner said...

What is wrong with the modern day stars. One season they score 10 goals win zilch, completely underperforms at vital points of the season and then ask their filthy Mr.10 percent to ask for a pay rise because he have scored 10 goals where 5 are penalties against Accrington stanley and 5 against Scunthorpe.Every bloody season this and that asks Wenger for pay rises and the french genius gives in all to easily,i doubt he has ever stood up to a player like adebayor and said.Listen you filthy mercenary the day you dont just stand around in two cl semi- finals but actually put in some effort and shows that you give a shit then we can begin talking about a pay rise otherwise you can fuck of to Filthy Milan and that Nazi Berlusconi.

Marko said...

Van Persie will sign a new contract he's clearly just waiting to see who Wenger is gonna sign this summer, he may have second thoughts if we sign nothing but 16 year olds but if we sign Vermaelen, Zapata and Cana then he'll know we mean business next season and will be very strong.

And Diarra and Flamini?!? The best defensive midfielders in the world IMO are Mascharano, Filipe Melo, Essien, Cana, Toulalan and then Diarra would be top 7-10. Flamini should of realised that the patnership he was developing with Cesc doesn't come around everyday and he'll realize that sooner rather than later but we have to think to the future. Coquelin and Frimpong are Diarra type players so fuck him we won't need him in the future.

"Every bloody season this and that asks Wenger for pay rises and the french genius gives in all to easily,i doubt he has ever stood up to a player like adebayor..."

More pea brained, unsubstantiated bull shit from so called supporters who have abso-fuckin-lutely no idea what goes on at the club, or indeed anywhere....

Jeeez, get a fuckin grip...

Marko said...

Yeah Spike's right calm down. In fairness Van Persie is probably due one anyhow. I've always said he's a 20 goal a season striker if he stays fit and last season he was mostly fit and scored 20. He'll push on and get better and if you find him a partner up front that complements him he'll score more and set up more.

talking about loyalty, clichy has shown he is a true gunner a true knight of the arsenal brigade. But, maybe it is just me but I see our captain's loyalty wavering a bit. Infact more than a bit. I dunno if what Mr Barca boy has said or maybe we have got one sadistic person's convoluted thoughts that Mr Cesc wants away suddenly but llthewhile saying that he is commited to arsenal. As William Shakspear should have actually said "what to believe and what not to believe"
