Why do we always have to dig someone out?

I've noticed something in recent times and I'll be honest; I don't like it. In fact I hate it. I hate it as much as that Jack Daniel's sauce I bought from Tesco on Sunday for £2.54. The sauce leaves a sour taste in my mouth and so does this.

I'll probably upset some of my fellow Gooners here but I believe it has to be said; Why do we always dig someone out?

Like Frank Lampard eating cake we are never satisfied. Last night, in my belief, Arsenal played some of the best football we are likely to see all season from any side and I include the pundits favourites Manchester United and Barcelona.

We tore Olympiacos a new arsehole. They aint no mugs. Sure, they've lost every game that they have ever played in their stinking existence in England but they aint no mugs all the same. I was drooling at times and that usually only happens when the chinese waiter brings out my BBQ spare ribs.

So instead of revelling in yet another superb performance from my beloved Arsenal I'm slightly down because some of us choose to bemoan a certain players performance instead of cumming in our pants at our excellentness.

I know people, Gooners especially, have a right to their own opinion. Mine is an honest opinion on all things Arsenal........Well I'll try! (see the banner on the top of the page) I worry though that sometimes we tend to concentrate on the negatives and not the positives.

In recent times some Gooners, maybe myself included, have resorted to digging out their own. The most recent I've noticed is Diaby. Now I know that Diaby can be more frustrating than suffering from impotence whilst Megan Fox performs a naked lap-dance for you giving it the come-on but it's something that has to stop.

We haven't gone as far as booing him but I'm beginning to feel the same kind of vilification building towards him as Bendtner and Eboue have received in the past.

Maybe Diaby senses it? Perhaps if we gave him more support then we would see the best of him? At times he is breath-taking, other times infuriating but he is what we got, so is the rest of the squad, and I suggest we get behind them.

Keep it Goonerish.............

You are right. We always seem to need some player to focus our negative attention on. Instead of hailing the team performance some people just go and hit out at a player.
Footballers need to feel the support of the fans or they will perfom lesser.
Let the manager look who plays good or bad, but we the Fans need to support every player that is on the field for Arsenal.

Wrighty7;

Bang on mate.

Way too much slating and berating of our own players going on. Been happening for a while now. Its way too easy to get on a players back it seems than actually supporting em.

Saying that, Diaby is shit! Hahahaha!

Only joking.

I think we have seen how some of our players find it harder to perform at the Grove these days, like they are worried that ifd they fuck upm the crowd will get on their backs, like they have done with Eboue and Bendtner.

Its a vicious circle,l so it is;

And what about the kids like Wilshire, vela, etc? When they see senior players getting shit, they may think twice about trying anything as they dont wanna get the same treatment.

Of course, you will get a few twats who will say they are entitled to get on players backs and even boo em...

B*llocks I say!

I wouldn't boo Diaby, but I don't think he deserves a starting place on the team. My opinion is based on 3+ years of inconsistency. In the games he has played in this season, he has been pretty awful...slowing down attacks, giving the ball away easily, failing to track back or stick a boot in, and making some major mental errors. I don't personally dislike him or have the need for at least one player to hate on throughout the year, it's just obvious that he's not as good as other players in the squad.

Spike, Diaby is shit though aint he? ;)

And thats your opinon Jrockdj mate.

I have no problem with that whatsoever.

I just think we tend to "pick" on players.

I understand what you're saying but it's not just that he plays crap, it's that he slows every single one of our attacks down if the ball goes through him.

I'm confident we would have scored 7 last night if Nasri was playing in his place, hell, even Denilson!

He has the fucking ability, that's what frustrates us so much, he's an idiot.

we talk about Diaby slowing down are attack. who's problem is that, the fans? am sure the team and the coaching staff know what to expect from him and are fine with his contributions. is every player in the team meant to be as good as or bring the exact style of play to the team?

Diaby, like you said Wrighty, is either quality, or fucking awful. I think Wenger needs to pull him to one side and let him know what his role is, one minute he's in the hole behind the front man, next minute he's on the wing and then he's alongside song. It's basic stuff right there. He also needs to release passes alot quicker, he dribbles into a brick wall most of the time and gives posession away far too easily without trying to win it back.

Having said this, I for one am all for supporting a man when he's had/having a shit day. Fucking hell giving a geezer abuse don't make him any better, no matter what that portuguese cunt with Madrid in his blood says. We need to get behind our players, because for 4 seasons, getting on their backs don't fucking bring silverware in.

Nice one Wrighty, well fucking said.

When did you ever get united or liverpool fans against players even when they failed to perform. I think sometimes our fans do a better job for opposing teams. Break the unity of the team and allow others to pick on us.

Good one wrighty. I hate those gooners who are always complaining. spoilt brats, only if they could grow up in the 80's...

I agrre with you wrigthy to a certain extent, because we have seen this pretty boy football so many times the past seasons and it has been pretty but everytime we face a top four side we have been ruthlessly exposed,so to a certain extent it is nice to see us play great football but we have been threr before and ended up empty handed.

It seems to me that some of you supporters - and you know who you are - like to jump on the band wagon and slate certain individuals. When Diaby scored that brace on opening day some of you same people were sucking his dick and saying that he was the new Viera, he's constantly being played in different positions and has still tried to play his game however inconsistent that is at times. Where are the fans who watch Fabregas give away the ball continuously (especially like yesterday) and sulk on the pitch and not say a word or is it that the media is still courting him that makes it ok not to comment on this. Oh yeah by the way I do go to the games so I don't want to hear that I should go support another team or that I am an MOTD supporterjust because I have an opinion that is different to yours. Just a thought........

Possibly one of the best blog posts of the year - spot on and something that has really been grinding my gears recently.

If I'm playing badly in a game (granted at a much, much lower level) then I'm aware of it. I don't need to be shouted at, in fact I appreciate the support that team mates provide on such occasions - 60,000 people offering such support would bring far better results than slating a player.

You're right.
We should back all the players no matter what, that play for Arsenal of course.

diaby used to play with confidence in the recent past and though he made mistakes, he was seen to be lively and they didnt come ever so often. he is sensing something is wrong and he is not that confident. he might be reading these blogs and seeing that the fans are calling 4 him to play in the championship! he doesnt wnt to mess but coz of the tension he ends up doing just that. i agree we MUST get behind the players like yesterday but then saying someone fucked up is not hating but just pointing it out. it becomes bad when some gooners let it slip into hate. he needs a breather to regain himself. he got major talent and thats y arsene has him. he needs to focus.

Thank you Wrighty, thank you.
it's great that you have stated this massive problem with some of our supporters.
Diaby is an Arsenal player and as such we should give him our total support, it's not that long ago that he was in jured by some player who broke his ankle it's taken a long time for him to get over that and start to feel confident in him self again, it should not be forgotten that when an injury like that happens it takes a lot longer for the mental injury to heal in some players. so once again thanks !

|We should take a look at the Olympiakos fans who were fantastic from an hour before the game. Imagine being a player and getting that kind of non-stop ovation. They would never boo a player like we do.

Spot on Wrighty. We've got to be one of the only clubs who's fans always seem to have a go at some player, any player. It's so infuriating because when other clubs fans or people in the media have a go at Arsenal I take it personal so you can imagine how I feel when I go on some blogs such as Le Grove or that one with that dumb shit sinbad on. Bloody angry as fuck. Funny thing is there's people in Le Grove who still don't rate Alex Song, a player who in my opinion hasn't had a BAD game in about a year. Easily the most improved Arsenal player he's a bloody rock.

People like Danish Gunner are the type of fan I hate. Always negative.

I think we should also note that many of the fans play poorly quite regularly. Since we are the 12th man if we dont cheer our team on to the best of our ability we should look at ourselves also.

For me Diaby played very well in the CL game.

Great stuff yet again Wrighty.

Btw, just interested in your thoughts regarding Alex Song. I still cant believe he's getting stick still from a lot of Arsenal fans..

Mohammed Ouwais said...

Very well said wrighty.......

Song and denilson are our unsung heros i think they need more backing from fans for more goals..

Wenger should buy Ben-Arfa. He combines well with diaby and nasri as they grew up together.

BTW...Wilson Palacios went to Arsenal for trials when he was youngr and Wenger sent him to Birmingham under Steve Bruce. Imagine if we kept him..

I have just been pointed towards this article and it is spot on. You are 100% right, we should back our players.

We have to deal with opposition fans slagging our players off so why do we do it to our own.

I hope people take what you have said on board.
