Get Well Soon Eric Abidal

I couldn't believe my eyes when I read the news that FC Barcelona defender Eric Abidal is to have an operation on his liver to remove a tumour.

I'm gutted for him.

From what I've seen of him though he is a real fighter so I hope this strength gets him through this.

It kind of puts things into perspective doesn't it?

I'd like to wish Eric good luck in his battle and all the best, as I'm sure all Gooners will do too.

Keep It Goonerish.......

That sure put things in perspective - of our quality that is!

Barca beat us with a defender on a spolit liver.

Man U beat us with 3 defenders in midfield, in a formation they never even trained in, not to mention played in.

On the pitch it is all about football and trying to win. Off the pitch? God bless Eric Abidal, stunning news.

When you grow up you'll realise just how offensive your comment is.

Imagine he was your father, brother or son....I like to think arsenal fans have more class than that

Hi Geoff,

Im not even trying to be offensive. Abidal's condition shows the measure of the man he is, still playing at such an intense level

Conversely, it shows how "mentally strong" we are

Best of luck to Eric.

Akm.

This is nothing remotely to do with the arsenal team or ''our quality''. Lets show some respect.

It is a sad reality for the man, hope he gets better, end of.

who cares about a french football player who plays for a cheating provincial spanish team?

Let's put our petty rivalry with Barca aside. Good luck to Abidal on his battle.

Wrighty, are you suffering from Stockholm syndrome?

anyone who doesn't show respect isn't fit for respect, this isn't about Arsenal or anything, this is about a man whose career will be struck because of an illness, show some class, the same class and wish the man a speedy recovery. If RvP can then I'm sure you all can.

He's a great player much better than Squillaci. Hope he'll be ok. He's real unlucky to have a serious internal problem like thiGET WELL SOON ERIC!

With the resent stories in the press about widespread steroid use in spanish football i mind, not very hard to figure what happened. Steroid use damge the liver, everybody knows that. Maybe that's why they are able to run like they do for 90 min or more. Just sayin'....

I would have felt real sorry, had he not been such a c*nt to RvP in the return leg and gotten away with it. Karma's a bitch my friend, and you learned the hard way Eric.
