An Open Letter To Xavier Hernández:

Dear Mr Hernandez,

Can I call you Xavi? Or, as Del Boy from Only Fools and Horses or Gypsies would say, can I call you Chavvy?

Let me begin by saying that I think you are a marvellous footballer. I love to watch players like yourself play the game. At times its like watching my mate Phil play Fifa 2003 on Playstation 2 and he was well good at that game.

In the past I've heard you mention a lot about DNA. So much so, I thought you were a part-time genetic scientist or something during your spare time after training. You have mentioned Cesc Fabregas' FC Barcelona DNA loads. I only have normal DNA but I wish I had Arsenal DNA. That would be sooooo cool.

Recently Chavvy you have said quite a lot of naughty things and at times I think you are a nasty man but then I remember you have FC Barcelona DNA too and when people with that get older sometimes they have a mutation of the mind and it makes them go crazy. Well, that's what my teacher told me in Biology years ago.

I didn't know that you were a psychic either. But you aren't very good at that though are you Chavvy?! I remember reading this just before I went on holiday last summer and I thought 'Wow, this man is a scientist AND a psychic'.

You said that Cesc might join you at Barcelona in January when Arsenal are out of the title race and that the Gunners are just not competitive. You were wrong! What happened? Did your crystal ball break?

Not only are Arsenal still in the title race and in the running for four trophies, we are proving to be very competitive indeed. So competitive in fact we have just beaten YOUR team in the Champions League. I really, really, really hope you kept the receipt for that crystal ball Chavvy.

I'm not going to be arrogant like you Chavvy. I know that it will be a very hard game in Barcelona and we will have to do very well to knock you out but my advice to you would be to show a little humanity and a little less of the cockiness because it can bite you on the arse.

Yours,

Wrighty

Keep It Goonerish..........

Idiotic, classless post.

The comments by Xavi and all Barca players about Cesc could and should have only been stopped by one man, Cesc Fabregas.

What they said as friends of his were all what the player felt himself.

so well written. well done

So Cesc thought Arsenal would be out of the title race by December did he?

Xavi brought shit like this on himself mate!

Why am I angry? Not angry mate, just hearing the Barca love-in for the past week, even after we beat them, and getting one over Xavi makes me happy!

The atmosphere was fantastic last night.. I actually heard chants of come on Arsenal, just after Barca scored. Loud enough to drown out the Barca fans’ singing and shouting.

Not only were Barcelona beaten. They were beaten by us playing OUR game. So, they kept the ball better. So they were unlucky with some goal, so this is only the first leg.. Well, so F***ing what?? We’ve always heard that these are excuses when it’s us who lose a game despite dominating in a fashion that Barca did NOT do last night. And still it’s about them and not us. Well, you know what. It doesn’t matter. WE did it. OUR way. The rest can go do one..

Isn’t it fantastic when the heart wins out? Victoria concordia crescit.
I guess my overall takeaway point would be that tonight was a vision of what we can be. Maybe we’re not there yet, and it won’t always be this good, of course. But all the problems Arsenal have had faded away last night, and for one perfect evening, everything fell into place, and Arsenal FC were the club we want it to be and what it is at our very best. Great atmosphere at the ground? Usually not, but it was tonight (see video below). Shaky goalkeeper? We’ve had that in the past, but Wojo is excellent and getting better, and had a good night. Blowing a late lead? It’s our bugaboo, but yesterday we’re the ones who came from behind and took the match. Mental weakness? Nope — we were absolutely fearless. I think we saw a glimpse of all of Wenger’s promises coming to fruition. Wenger steered us through a very tough financial period when we moved into the Emirates, and while we haven’t won any trophies there yet, we haven’t dropped out of the top 4, and have gone from one of England’s bigger sides to one of the biggest sides in all of Europe. You’ve heard me say it before, and I will say it again — Wenger has never gotten, and probably will never get, enough credit for what he’s done the last 6 years. That some fans actually have called for his job boggles my mind.

Very interesting to see the papers in Spain today – there is a lot of talk about Barca being over the hill, the manager losing it, poor substitution and the like.

Reads like the way the English papers talk about Arsenal at every opportunity. Absolutely no eulogising about Barca – they thought it a poor show.

I think guardiola is a great guy and always tries to stay humble - but except messi - the rest of barcelona are arrogant fools

I sincerely believe we will beat Barcelona at camp Nou. They keep talking about the pitch being bigger and all. Well does that give walcott and nasri more space to run into? Umm I think so. Theo will have a ball there. And just to reminder, Arsenal have the best away record in the EPL. Ofcourse it will be tough but I feel we will beat them. And that will be justice laporta for the disrespect shown to us fans, people tend to forget they disrespected us the fans, as if cesc belongs to them since he was born there. Beckham was born in london, does he belong to arsenal? We have supported and seen every kick cesc ever kicked since he was 16. Can the barcelona fans claim that? Who the hell are they to claim Cesc. Here is to shuting up 100,000 catalans and the little rugrats of Barcelona FC.

I see farcelona's supporters on youtube, newsnow etc claiming arrogantly that theyll turn us over with their "remuntada" at nou camp.now here's some news for all of u.ull see a diferent arsenal from the one u saw at emirates.an even better one.and that my friend is scary.we have a great away record this season.nasri wasnt in the best of shape today as was cesc and even rvp had a couple of shots way off target.but in 3 weeks time we can expect thse guys to be bursting with confidence, especially if weve won the CC .dj,kos, verma will all be available for us unlike piquee and maybe puyol for them.if we can just hold our guard and take them on with an early goal, their crowds will get on their backs( theyre idiots like some of our own who boo our players at home).....and that can tilt the game in our favour.....

Guardiola shows no mercy in games like this.Especially in Camp Nou, you don't get out alive.I'm already feeling sorry for copycat Arsenal.
And oh btw, no one's interested in your gay wilshere(or cesc), we have something called "La Masia" already, even cesc was made there, but we don't need traitors like him.You can be lucky only once with Barça.

Great blog! It still sickens me to think some (so called) fans wanted Wenger gone. WTF is wrong with you, are you blind?! I would like to hear your opinions now, but then they are probably still not worth listening to. It is all coming together now and has been since we moved, we are on the verge of greatness and that is thanks to Wenger. All you true fans take a bow. All you haters go suck!

Hilarious. Some people could do with gaining a sense of humour, its all tongue in cheek, wish the same could be said of Xavi's constant chat.

would have been a great post if the comments about cesc joining in january were made by xavi. right after they were published (not by spanish media, english media rather) he moved to clarify that he said no such thing.

Great blog. This shows the arrogance of Xavier. He better know the SL aint as competitive as the epl. That's why Barca could have won 16 matches in a row. In the epl,the red faced for all his dominance, can at the most string eight win in arow.
Btw Barca have won 7 matches in a row at home. I expect this record to be busted by the gunner ,hopefully with a win if not a draw. For this to happen,Wenger for all his public announcements play like the so and park the bus and hit on the break.
Oh I forgot to add all sequences wll be stopped by the law of averages. So Barca's undefeated run to end at some point.

Following the gunners unexpected win, analysts have used stats to show the gunners could fail to qualify.I t seems 52% of losers of the first leg have gone on to qualify. So 48% haave gone to qualify.
I like to think Arsenal have 48% chance . Thats shows it is possible to get the job done. There's always a first time eg first under 4 minute mile/2003-04 undefeated, etc.
Suffice to say the gunners have a chance. The onus is for Barca to score the first goal.So the gunners must score first to heap more pressure.
Make no mistake . It could be like the 2nd leg of Barca vs Inter.
I just hope Arsenal will attack and defend as a team . I know it's not Wenger's nature to play on the counter. Sometimes you have to . Can anyone forget the gunners tearing Inter to shreds in 2003.A repeat of that will be most memeorable.

I think its rather unfair to generalize the entire barca team as arrogant cunts.
Its pretty obvious that Xavi's less than subtle calls for Cesc to join him at Nou Camp is driven by his ow personal agenda.
Afterall Cesc is one fine looking chap & we all can know what a twink Xavi is.

Anonymous said...

I don't think that this interview is real.
Xavi is a great and humble person, it's not fair to call him arrogant. There are others to call arrogant, for example C.Ronaldo, but none of the Barca players.
