Drogba Is A Gooner. Would You Take Him?

I have read in the past that Didier Drogba is an Arsenal fan and I am 99.6% sure that I saw him supping on a pint of Guinness in The Gunners Pub way back in 1999 before a home game against Everton.

Now my judgement that day may have been cloudy due to the 3 bottles of lemon Hooch (remember Hooch?) I drank before entering that superb venue, but I am positive he was joining in on a chorus of '1-0 to the Arsenal'.

That for me says enough about the man to suggest he is a Gooner and to see an Arsenal man wearing the red and white of the club would be a fantastic sight.

We appear to have several Arsenal supporters in the actual squad these days. Emmanuel Frimpong and Jack Wilshere are the biggest fans and I am sure that they would welcome Didier Drogba to the club with open arms.

This would mainly be due to the fact that Drogba would no longer be able to score against us or even more so because he is a fucking great lump who, despite diving as bad as Jurgen Klinsmann from time to time, looks like one hard bastard.

Arsene Wenger has admitted in the past that he admires Drogba as much as he admires the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Strasbourg. Which incidentally, is an art museum in his home town of Strasbourg. And the Chelski man is indeed a work of art.

Wenger missed out on signing Drogba when the player was at Le Mans in France for £100,000. Rumours were that he told Le Mans £47,874 and a Firestick Peperami was his final offer and we lost the deal.

Well that can be redeemed within the next few months. Drogba is in the final year of his contract with Chelski and, despite being 67 years of age, I am sure he could still do a massive job for us.

We need another striker and someone with the quality of the Ivorian man of steel would still be a fantastic asset to the club.

As I have said, age may well be against Didier.

But the man can still cut it at the top level of English football and I think if he doesn't agree a new deal with our West London neighbours of Russian descent, then he would be available at a cut-down price or a free transfer.

It could well be the time to make Drogba's dreams come true in putting on the Arsenal shirt and I would take him faster than Usain Bolt running for his pre-race meal of Chicken Nuggets.

Keep It Goonerish..........

Keep up, theBolt said that his pre-record breaking race meal consisted of chicken nuggets from the fast food place with a golden "M" out front. PS i'd take him, so to speak...

I'd take him too but I don't think we should... that means every African Cup could cost us even more players.

January could become the month of hell... well, if we get out of these last 8 months of hell at some point that is.

I've got to be honest, in spite of the fact he plays for chelsea, he is one of my favourite players of the PL era. He was/is physically stronger than 90% of central defenders, reasonably quick and fantastic in the air.
The reason I think that signing him might be a good idea, however, is that he could have a major effect on the mentality of the squad, as vieira seemed to have on the city squad. You can't deny he is a winner, and having that kind of character around could only help our young squad imo.
Besides, he may not come in and score goals, but he could still lead the line well.

Tough one. Quite possibly the best striker in the world just a couple of seasons ago but now 33 and very rare to see a striker stay at the top level into their mid 30s. I'd say that by next season when he's 34 it'll unfortunately be too late. I don't remember Arsene buying a player over 30 so however much he likes him i don't think it's realistic.

Take him eyes closed, give him a 2 year deal,it doesnt matter if he goes in jan to african nations cup, rest of the time he will be perfect for us. Imagine him playing upfront with RVP behind him, ala perfect. If possible buy him in jan itself.

Keep in mind that Drogba started playing pro-football very late. I think he was around 24-25 when he got his breakthrough in Guincamp before Marseille bought him. This could, possibly, mean that his body isn't as damaged as other top-level footballers and as long as he's not the main striker, I think he'd be a phenomenal addition to the squad.
Also looks like Wenger has changed his attide towards signing "older" players, Squillaci, Arteta and perhaps even RVP are getting contracts taking thm well into their 30's. GET DROGBA!

I don't think signing a Chelsea cast off whose best days are behind him is the way forward.

We have done enough shopping in the bargain basement for one season, what the team needs is a flagship signing such as Eden Hazard, Yann M'Vila or Yoann Gourcuff. We should also nip in and get Cahill in January to avoid a bidding war over him, we should be able to get him for less than £10m as his contract is up at the end of the season.

We need to sign the kind of player other top teams want and not settle for picking up players once the 'big' teams have helped themselves. The psychological boost on its own will get us going again. Do you really think Man Utd, City or Chelsea were shitting it when they saw our deadline day signings?!

Robin van Persie was also an Arsenal fan: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_QqbCeqIjFlk/SNnOOCyMVNI/AAAAAAAABDE/PEYLhtb1dJc/s1600/van%20Persie%201.jpg
I think it's at least safe to assume it from that photo..

Note that both hands should go in accordance with each other, considering the rhythm. If you are confident enough, then let's start by getting some books on basic chords and scales and start practicing them. Again, this is a true gift and not usually observed in most children.
