I was more impressed by the fight than the performance!

Have that Phil Brown. Have that right in your fake-tanned, frazzled, oompa loompa face! Did you see him? Trying to header an imaginary ball? Twat!

Sorry, rant over. I just don't like Phil Brown.

What a crucial win that was. After seeing Manchester United lose, and lose quite heavily, Spurs, Villa and Manchester City win, that was a very pleasing three points to earn.

The pressure was on the boys and they responded. It shows character and maybe in the past we haven't showed that kind of character often enough. We did it last week when results went our way but then flopped against Burnley so we do have it. We just need to show it more.

Speaking of character I was very impressed by the fight in the match. Now don't for one second believe that I am a hooligan who loves to watch a brawl. That's only on a Tuesday. I was impressed by the way the players stuck together and really looked after each other.

Now, Nasri proved himself to be a right little git by stamping on that Hull City players foot but the way he went down was embarrassing wasn't it? It was like a sniper from row Z took him out. I swear if someone in my Sunday or Saturday football team went down like that we'd have left him there.

What followed gave me a little happy feeling in my stomach. Hull players larged it, especially that midget Hunt and former Spud Barmby, but the Arsenal players responded and immediately raced in to stick up for their pal Nasri. The melee that followed was hand-bags really and it continued down the tunnel at half-time.

Now you may say Wrighty, you are out of line here, how can you give the thumbs up to that kind of behaviour? There were kids watching. My reason? It's because we have been accused of being softies and it showed that we have a lot of fight in the team. It proves that we have players willing to defend each other and stick together.

It's times like this when you know who your mates are and this whole Arsenal team proved to each other that they have got each others backs. How quick was Silvestre to race in? That's good stuff. He has his critics but I think people have a stubborn on view on Silvestre. Le-Grove think so too. And I agree with them that he had a very good game yesterday. I also agree that this game in hand has become a farce. It was cancelled in August for Jebus Christ.

So we were written off by almost everyone and in truth we have always been right bang in the mixer. What can annoy me is that it's only December and people are quick to write us off. Even Gooners do it.

Of course I can understand the frustration at times and it seems a little silly to say be patient because we have been for five years now! But we have to believe we can win the title. I do. If we can create that feeling throughout everyone then we have a fantastic chance.

Get that feeling spread around and it will show through to the players. Then maybe they will believe even more too. The fight we showed yesterday proves to me this squad have the bollocks, lets show some bollocks too and get right behind them.

I complety agree, i think silvestre has been good this year especially in the carling cup. I think we were all proud of the fight a bit. you need to show both the beauty and the beast

to be honest the fight was a bit pathetic... id be embarrassed to be a football, every time something like that happens all they do is push and shove a bit...lol the chelski game in the carling cup, even though he got beat that day i was much more impressed with the likes of cesc manhandling fat frank, and letting every one know that he wouldnt be pushed about, then adebayor and eboue ruined it, but anyway...
silvestre played well yesterday, and has to take some of the credit, he's most definately not my first choice but as a back up, he's doing what he's supposed to at the moment, and you cant ask more than that!!!

yeah..very true man...it was interesting fight...I liked the way Song holded Barmby or Hunt on throat...looked like telling him...stop it or get hit...I expected Diaby and Denilson to pump it too but it got sorted out before that..

check this out guys...

I'm sure we didn't do this deliberately but when a team hates you like Hull do- one of the best things you can do is get them to blow up - and from that moment that Nasri wound them up- they had lost this game. If they had scored the penalty it would have made no difference- we had gained the upper hand.

We are not going to win anything by being good little boys- not with the media and refs we have.

wasn't even a stamp, more like treading on his foot accidentally on purpose.

right or wrong when ur teammates is getting attacked on the pitch you have to back him.

There is nothing worse than playing in a team full of poom pooms, as the opposition will see this and bully you of the park.

My saturday lg side are all ballers but we were having trouble with some physical sides and most of the time they leave a foot in, sly push/kick when the ref aint looking, name calling (and this is just amatuer league, pros mus be much worse)etc. but we had more trouble when we didnt give it back as the opposition just took the piss. if they know that if it kicks of ur whole teams there, the they tend not to take the piss as much and stick to football. not perfect but thats football sometimes

Do those two wonderful French defenders ,Gallas and Silvestre know what it means to defend unless there,s something lost in translation .Two goals conceded against Chelsea through Gallas,s inept ball watching ,another two against Man. City in the Carling Cup ,though Silvestre,s inept ball watching ,and why don,t they close the crosses into the box down by going to the ball carrier instead of looking behind them,Vermaelen is there to mop up ?

Here's the question now: We all saw Eduardo's turn and shot - looked like the Eddy of old (except it didnt' go in).

Then he scored, does that now give him the confidence to push on and be the RvP replacement?

Alos now we don't have a 6ft 2 striker any more, should we tweak our system a bit? I'd like to see Arshavin playing off Eduardo as a 2 in a 442.

I just think that gives us more chance to pivot in the hole and get wide players in behind.

We spend way too much time playing in front of the back four - it's too easy to defend.

Also, we need to start shooting from distance again. They're all techincally able, I'd like to think we can get 15 goals from open play struck from outside the box this year - so far, only 3 - 2 by Denislon, 1 by fab (I think).

If the FA docks Nasri, maybe they should take a look at (caveman) Hunts shameful attack on Almunia as well!

I think it is really good that they fought. Leaving aside the "kids were there..",etc. arguments, i think the current team, lacked this killer instinct, this motivation to beta their opponent. Thru this fight probably they got more adrenaline or smthn, nd they played to win. It has been missing in the kids for a long time.

Bang on Wrighty, I was impressed by Song getting right in there and supporting his team mates, it was good to see those players who didnt mess about, Silvestre, Song, etc.

Good to see we wont take any shi* I want to see all our players support each other like that, show no fear.
