Its a total change around!......

Last season most Gooners (including myself) believed that Arsenal lacked width to the squad but were very healthy in the centre of midfield.

What a change around!...........

Now it seems the squad is heavy on wide players but threadbare in the centre of the park!

We have an abundance of talent to rely on this season in the wide areas. I'm very excited about the players we have on the flanks. I feel that we can do teams plenty of damage from out wide this season.

Its true we have lost key players in the centre of the park but Le Boss has signaled his intent to sign someone in this area. I hope that he signs someone with experience, preferably Premiership experience so it doesn't take the player long to adapt to Arsenal.

Although we have lost three central midfilders over the the year (Diarra, Flamini and Gilberto) I think we only need to sign one player for this position. Diaby and Denilson can provide cover for Cesc and his new partner and that's not forgetting Song who also looks a good prospect for the role.

I'm starting to look forward to the season. Its only around the corner and I'm excited to see how far we can go after being so close last season. We need a trophy, I feel that if Le Boss strengthens the squad with a couple of signings we will get silverware at the Emirates next season.

Keep it Goonerish........

Wrighty mate, don't worry. We are going to sign Bischoff AND Yaya Toure, Gareth Barry, Ruben De La Red or Angelo Palombo

Bout time we started having a bit of faith in the yutes man. Sick of all dem glory hunters demanding millions be spent every fucking season, wot is the fuckin point of a n academy? We consistently bemoan fact dat players wanna fuck off or they be tapped up, the academy is the fuckin future, I tell thee

The likes of Lansbury, Murphy, Barazite, Wilshire, Nordveit, Simpson and the rest are young players we should cherish and be proud of, I am fuckin sick and tired of this fuckin fantasy football shite, where the chavs, mancs and scousers spunk untold millions on this years new toys.

You want short term? Sure thing, but seriously the way tings are goin with mercenary players, agents, we need players with a soul and an affinity to our club.

This aint no meek bollocks to spendin dough on actually, god forbid strenthening the effin squad sometime this effin millenium, but a more long term approach, coz I really wanna see some of these kids come thru and shine for the Arsenal

Sorry if that offends

Are we about youth progression or Arsenal winning things Spike?

I want Arsenal to win things not develope youth who then go to another team.

Who are we Arsenal or fucking West Ham?

Yeah I gotta say I totally agree with you there Wrighty, I'd say it's a shame that we let Lassana Diarra go so soon, as he would have been a great partner for Cesc, because of his engine, his pace wasn't too bad, he was strong and up for a battle in every game and what suited our team was the fact that he can move the ball quickly and efficiently. But now we are looking as much for his replacement as we are Flamini's. If we could get Xabi Alonso for around £10 million, that would be a good deal, Barry can go fuck himself in my eyes, because he's shite! He scores a goal for England against... let's be honest... shit opposition and then suddenly there's a Ronaldo sized price-tag on his head! Na fuck that, if we're going to pay upwards of £15 million for our new central midfielder then there is only two possibilities, both from the same club. Firstly, there is Miguel Veloso, he's a quality player, a cultured defensive player, typical portugeeza. Then there's El Capitan of his club. Joao Moutinho, he would cost us more, and it would be VERY hard to sign him being as he is their most prized asset. Both these guys have a very bright future ahead of them, and they are both very much the same type of player, both mainly defensive, but can do a job in a more advanced role as well. Or we can go about things the Arsenal way, and promote from within, and say that the squad is fine, I'm not going to say whether it will be or wont be if we do that. We will only truly know whether the squad is okay or not until the end of this year at the earliest, last year there were doubts about the team at the start of the season, and we proved everyone wrong. Only for a few freak incidents, and one act of COMPLETE FUCKING THUGGERY (that should have been punished with at least a years ban from all footballing activities across the globe) we would have won the league, and I dare say Croatia would have reached the Final of the EURO's and possibly won it. Good things come to those who wait, for us gooners, it has been a fucking long time! Premiership champions 08/09.
Nice one, once again Wrighty.

are we really that lightweight in the middle tho? denilson, diaby, song, ramsey and fabregas may beg to differ....that said, we could do with a natural, experienced DM, and maybe loose one of denilson or diaby...song is a DM anyway so it wouldnt hurt to have him around.

While I wouldn't say it like Spike did I can see where he is coming from. I'm ready for the new season, I've got nothing but faith in this team. All I have to say is you never know. Denilson, Diaby or Song just might suprise people same as Flamini did. Lots of people didn't care weather Flamini left or not before last season.

i have to disagree with wighty 7,i feel there number of areas that wenger needs to stregthen but we wont beable to resolve all one season,i need a left back,if clichy ever got injured trore is not ready, gallas could cover but we have realy hoyte and he is not good enough,we lack left winger there is only risisky, nasri is realy wright winger. but where we need cover the most cenral midfield, there no way if fab got injured delilson or diaby would be able to cover fab we need a attacking central midfielder, delilson is more of dm,evenualy wenger will have get centrel defender because galas is 31 gon two seasons

Arsenal need a DM and CB, then we will be champions.

Wrighty is right

Arsenal have probably a good side for a one-off match but for the season they need more players. This is the difference between them and the likes of Man U, Chelsea and now Liverpool.
I think Wenger should ideally get two new experienced central midfielders to through the season.

arsenal squad is a bit light weight in midfield plus we very unlucky with injuries two addition in midfield experiened players we will fine

I believe Arsenal will struggle this sason. the squad doesn't seem to have the quality cover at central defence.
In fact last Jan fans were urging AW to invest in a couple of players with cd top of the list. Problem is AW knows and we know what happened after that.
We could be in for another dose of AW knows as the season begins to unfold. I just pray and hope i'm wrong.

we don´t sign a CM i think! wenger will buy a Defender! and if Adebayor goes he will sign a striker!

Anonymous said...

I'm less woried about the Midfield. I'd much prefer we buy a defender like Zapata but it seems we will buy a midfielder and one who can probably play in defense when needed like Veloso or Barry. Of all the names that are being tossed about like Inler, Yaya, Barry, De La Red or Veloso. Really anyone of those would be quality with us. Also it's looking like only us are interested in Veloso after Juve and Milan said they wouldn't be making anymore signings and Man U don't need him so he's the logical signings.

it's too bad every player thats commented on is priced in the stratosphere. none of them are worth that half their quoted price, they're good no doubt, but they're priced to stay not to move. having watched a little of arshavin again, he does remind me of nedved and nedved let's face it was god-like, his link up play and technique unequaled. if only zenit would pull it's damn head out and flog him to us for 13mil we take him. alas, it's more likely wenger pulls a gem from obscurity as seems to be his preference. arshavin, and certainly his agent, are in all probability too stupid for the premiership anyway, i don't know why i let myself get excited anymore. one thing i agree Wrighty7 is that high quality signings are paramount. wenger is certainly not infallible, but he's got a better view than us, and let's hope he got something cookin'.
