Something will happen, Gallas is too quiet.......

William Gallas usually has plenty to say but this summer I cant recall a peep from him!

From team talks to transfer talk, Gallas has an opinion and isn't afraid to be heard.

In the past he has mentioned that Arsenal have an exciting squad but it needs more experience and more numbers. I'm inclined to agree with him there.

I think his silence on all subjects means he has been assured by Le Boss that new faces could be arriving at the club.

I know he has been on holiday but last summer he spoke about Arsenal from his vacation. So why the silence this summer?

I know this article doesn't have a strong basis for argument but its my gut feeling that William's silence is because he has been assured that things will happen at Arsenal.

Otherwise I'm sure we would have heard alot more from him over the summer!

Keep it Goonerish.........

Or .....AW's told him to shut the fuck up or he'll lose the Captaincy.

Maybe he's paranoid about losing the captaincy.

Maybe he doesn't want to talk about signings because he knows one should be a centre-back.

Maybe he hurt his throat after screaming at Gael Clichy all season and decided to save himself for August.

Maybe he's too busy.

Maybe...

Who cares??

More likely that he managed to make such an arse of himself last season that he's finally decided dignified silence is the best policy. If so, I'd call that progress.

Good tongue in cheek article Wrighty,

some people just dont get it do they?......

Keep it up

Gallas is quality and as captain deserves to have his say.

He has learnt from past mistakes, hence his silence.

Good article though Wrighty7

Perhaps Arsene told him to keep his opinions to himself.

You know what this is what i was saying to a friend afew days ago.I am wondering why this guy is so quiet, yet he has a big mouth. And as a captain,he should say something for sure!! Fabregas came out and criticised barcelona for unsettling our player, but he is not the captain. But before someone tells me Gallas is on holiday.last year he was on holiday and he opened his mouth. As a captain u come out and defend ur club amidst all the criticism, well, thats my opinion!!!!

Gallas should be sold. His antics last season were embarrassing and I for one think that he should never wear the red and white or Arsenal again.

I think Gallas will leave next summer anyway. He is past it.

Anonymous said...

Perhaps he has learnt some respect for Wenger now......

eerm, tongue in cheak. Dont think so; more like a reasonable observation. As are the comments that he has been told to put a sock in it.

Anonymous said...

Yes I agree with previous anon. Good thinking Wrighty

Fab also said it cause it probably helped to get the Spaniards (Barca & Real) off his back for a while.....
Gallas is a good Captain and player. He may not be as suave as Henry but he reminds me of a warrior.

wrighty, the reason gallas is quiet is because no gives a fuck what he says now. His position is no longer guaranteed and if he threatened to go elsewhere no would give a damn plus which top team would have him as first choice central defender? Excatly not one of them. He should be stripped of the captaincy and concentrate on defending instead of acting like a cry baby . EIE

I think that Gallas is a good captain.

GALLAS IS STILL ONE OF THE BEST CB'S IN THE WORLD, WE SHOULD BE PLEASED TO HAVE HIM.

AS FOR CAPTAIN, I'M NOT SURE.

Anonymous said...

thank you wrighty.....

The thing is with Gallas, strip the captaincy off him now and he will leave, simple as that.

I dont want him to go.

No probs George.

he is quiet cause he is not going to be heard....arsenal are all out to sell all experienced players to cut as much wages as possible....in due course our first team will look like a reserve team...full of teenagers..i simply cannot buy the view that experienced stARS WOULD STIFFLE YOUNG TALENT....look at ashley young for example he has blossomed playing alongside players like barry, mellberg, larsson etc...anyway let us support our teenagers in a season were we were very close but yet so far...happy gallas and toure are part of the squad but a goalkeeper is necessary

Anonymous said...

Everyone says that toure and Gallas cant play together. I don't see that, I still see great potential in that partnership.
Because of his age I reckon Gallas has got 2 maybe 3 seasons left before aw puts him out to pasture. He's got alot to prove in those 2 years not to mention, he's a big game player.... just ask Manure and Chelski.
We as gooners need to be more supportive. Way too critical sometimes.......

i dont rate gallas a captain but has a defender there no dought he one of the best in the world,i would rather have him than not, there not alot of defender in the market his quality. i do feel that we need a new captain but i would sell defender as good or experiened as him

Anonymous said...

I guess he is busy at a saloon trying to get a new hairstyle for next season. he should loose the band

Anonymous said...

Gallas is a quality skipper. I can't believe people spend all their time moaning on these forums about the team and when the captain expresses the same concerns you tell him to shut up?If you go, you know he drives the team off. So he sat in the centre circle? So fucking what? I was at the game and not one person talked about the incident, yet we get home and sky sports have made a massive deal out of it and everybody goes on about it as if it was even slightly significant. Funny how the media didn't ostrasise John Terry.....LD

A decent captain would have put his arm around Clichy after that penalty incident at Birmingham and encouraged him.
Instead he tried to publicly humiliate him and luckily Clichy was strong enough to bounce back..
FABREGAS for Captain.

Anonymous said...

Gallas put an arm around Clichy after his mistake at Man City, it didn't work. Besides which he didn't scream at Clichy, where did you get that from? He had a pop at the ref, not Clichy.LD

Once again a top article Wrighty.
You improving all the time mate. Keep it up.

As for Gallas, I have to say great player, ok captain.

Anonymous said...

gallas is a good centre back i know a lot od chelsea fans miss him. as for captain i dont think he is the best captain around and obviusly some of his antics are poo but i feel he is the only one who will scream at players and thats good.
good post keep it up.

why are u gunner fans so foolish...
Gallas is a very good arsenal player...it's only his passion to be a winner for the club that makes him talk so much..
and now that he's quiet you complain he's quiet..
I just think its time we gunner fans respect our player and not treat them like rags
I've read some of the comments on here and i just don't think its good enough... How many times do you see Man U fans or Liverpoool fans or even tottenham fans speak in such a derogatory fashion about their players
Gallas fought so hard for us last season, and got us some crucial points...
He was key in our first game against Man U at the emirates...
I agree he does talk a lot, but its only his passion and determination to have success that makes him do it...
I'll be suprised if he left arsenal... I believe if there's any reason Gallas would leave, it would be because of comments from fans like those on here that would make him leave.
Don't you guys even think some of these professionals could be reading your dumb comments!
I could av been Gallas himself coming on to a site like this that is meant to be an arsenal fan site. Don't you think I'll leave demotivated.
Honestly guys, think before you leave your dumb comments on here.

If you mean the post above you little dutch.
Where does it say he screamed at Clichy?
He sat on the half way line and didn't defend the penalty and put his foot through a advertising hoarding.

Nice viewpoint mate, however i too feel stripping gallas of captaincy would get his game down . he was a decent player last season till the birmingham game then everything started falling apart. Now I think there might be a possible CDM signing that is ought to take place..

Gallas is still on holidays.

Nice post Wrighty and well said Emmanuel.
Its time to rally behind our team of players who have stayed at the club for next season.

Anonymous said...

Interesting view, let's hope it's true.

Who knows maybe he's just matured a bit after a year as captain.

Then again maybe you're just reading into it too much, who knows?

well said 'Emmanuel'

good issue wrighty7, while willy is too quite, cescy is really outstanding when he said:
" barca should show us some respect..."
and " it was also for the Arsenal fans that have been suffering a lot this year...it is for them."
and " i want to win trophies with Arsenal...hopefully the football will also get better and better for Arsenal.."
He also showed his maturity with his last spot-kick help spain won over italia. Remember what chelsea’s captain did !!
Moreover, he conducted himself perfectly during euro 2008 campaign , he plays at our team’s heartbeat , he is the diplomatic type according to some interviewer, he is so professional, down-to-earth, humble and delicated…
Fab4 is so young but I hope A.Wenger will give cesc the captain band coz he behaves how captains should . our team now have a new generation with many young talents, and it’s true that we need a new truly skipper!!
I don’t think gallas is a good captain. He’s only a good player.

got to love the dog days of summer.....

u r not dat gud wrighty howcomes somewun is always licking ur dick

with the money gallas makes he should be more than motivated. he's passionate but his immaturity at times does not inspire the squad. the captain's role is to inspire and motivate, immaturity does the opposite. i hope he's learned from last season, and he may have.

Gallas is just busy looking for his lost tomahavk.

Elango no one is saying combining youth in an experienced team is a problem. People are saying people like Ashley Young wouldn't have ever gotten near the team if Villa had a world class player and a really high quality bench warmer in the same position.

It's numbers of people ahead of them which stifles talent.

Not saying I think there's no solution to that though, we should just put some players out on loans for a year or two until they look as good as an Arsenal player needs to be to get a good chance. If they never achieve it their value raises anyway and we sell for much more.

I don't see why we aren't loaning out more players for longer. Reyes for example, he was loaned to a top side and he could have ended up improving and even wanting to return. It never really happened but it was a great idea to loan him out. Look at Bendtner, maybe he'll come good next season or maybe later, or maybe never. Loaning him out to a good team where he'll get regular games (somewhere like Everton) could possibly be the best thing to do though. Although up front we're short of numbers without him, but I think you see my point.

ARSHAVIN IS A DONE DEAL FOLKS!!!!!
HE"S HERE ON TUESDAY FOR MEDICAL!!!!
YEE-HA!!!

Anonymous said...

because unlike most Arsenal fans he actually has some humility and realized that after talking last summer like he knows how to run a club and was proven wrong when the team didn't drop out of the top 4 and in fact were only 4 points off the championship that maybe he should leave the running of the club business to people who are paid to do it.

Anonymous said...

Rumour has it that Gallas could be the next one out of the door on his way to Barca.

Anonymous said...

apparently Gallas is a £5million target for Barca and Paris-Saint Germain?
maybee reasons for him shutting his mouth so far?

but would it be good buisness??

Anonymous said...

quite good!! sorry for that willy...

this has nothing to do with your article mate but i just needed to get this off my chest:

FUCK OFF ALEX HLEB WITH YOUR FUCKING COMMENTS ON CESC YOU KISS BADGING IGNORANT 2 GOAL A SEASON MIDFIELDER. FUCK OFF!

Unknown said...

Ummm... Perhaps its because he understands that he'll win nout at Arsenal! Won nothing in the two years or so he's been at the club, watched all the best stars leave, been dumped out of the euro's at group stage, and has just heard his manager say Arsenal need to sell for the next 17 years. He's not saying anything cause his agent is busy behind the scenes looking for a way out, or he's finally realised he's not as good as he thought!
