Titi, you will always be in my heart too pal....

Thierry Henry has been voted the greatest ever Gunner in the Arsenal poll.

The man is a legend and deserves to be crowned the top man. Going down the list there are so many names that could all have been voted number one but I think the correct decision has been made.

A good choice Gooners!

"I loved my time at Arsenal and have many fantastic memories from my eight years there," said Henry, now at Barcelona."It was an honour to play in the historic red and white of Arsenal, especially at Highbury. "I'll always follow the team and what they do. I'll always be a Gooner in my heart"

Titi, you will always be remembered at Arsenal and could show some people the meaning of loyalty too.

You say you will always be a Gooner in your heart. Well you will always be in my heart too pal.

Thanks for the memories.

Keep it Goonerish..........

What a player... What a man... What a captain... What a fucking legend. He will, forever be remembered as a hero in my heart. The man I looked to for inspiration, and he delivered inspiration all the time. The World's Greatest Striker... EVER. And that's not an exaggeration.
Nice one wrighty, top blog again. He will forever be a gunner in my eyes.

The greatest player I've ever seen play, in 15 years of watching football (less than most, more than some).

I was lucky enough to be in the stands for some of his historic moments... His first hatrick, at home to Leicester in a 6-1 demolitio, and his virtuoso run and finish in the Bernabeu (aka the Best Night of My Life).

I love Thierry. Really love him. He is second only to le Boss in my affections.

Dennis Bergkamp joined Arsenal never wanted to play for another club even though we were only insulting him with one year contracts.
Tony Adams Gooner all his playing career look at what he won us.
Henry 29 years old got a £5 million pound bonus for re signing £100,000 a week stays one injury blighted year then pisses off for half the transfer fee we would have got the previous year.

Dennis Bergkamp is my number one. the Iceman was a players player. It has been said that if you ask all ex-Arsenal players from his time, who would be your starting eleven to play with, Bergkamp's name was always number one on the list. He was a true team player, selfless, a visionary on the field that has only been rivaled by Zidane. But never forget he put away some of the most remarkable goals ever seen in Arsenal's history, the one against Newcastle at the top of that list. Most importantly he stayed with us all the way till the end, even when he was offered such embarrassing one year contracts. He showed his love for Arsenal not by talk, but by action. He typifies Arsenal for me. I love Henry, the most amazing goal scorer Arsenal has ever had. But the Un-Flying Dutchman's class on and more importantly off the field, will never be mastered. He is Arsenals Paulo Maldini.

Henry was & still is a TRAITOR !

He took the money, told us all a pack of lies about how much he loves us & then deserted us....how can he be number 1 ?

The people who voted for Henry need to feel a little ashamed that they have voted him ahead of real loyal legends who stuck with Arsenal & didn't desert us for the money.

Real Arsenal legends are people like:
Adams
Bergkamp
Rice
Wright
O'Leary
Seaman
Armstrong
George

Henry, Viera & Co should be recognised by true Arsenal fans for what they realy are...traitors!

Did anyone see Henry's farewell video to the gunners fans. And some people still say he didn't love the club? I don't believe some people, they sound ungrateful to our BEST EVER PLAYER. The WORLD'S BEST EVER STRIKER. The service himself and Paddy put in for our side, and they slate them for fuck sake. I bet you these are the same people who are calling for Arsene's fucking resignation.
Like I said earlier.
What a player...What a man...What a captain... What a fucking Legend.

Gunner #1

REAL gooners (especially those over 35) would NEVER put Henry ahead of Bergkamp or Brady.

Henry could've been a great had it done it for us when we really needed it - all the cup finals etc.,

Bergkamp & Wenger took a team the world had forgotten and made them Top 10 in Europe.

Brady was quite simply one the greatest players of his era.

Henry flatters to deceive. And i would argue as a goalscorer, Ian Wright was better. The fact that Henry has failed in Spain - after failing in Italy - and has never shone on the International stage, makes him a superstar only for the YouTube generation, where you put together his great goals and a few tricks and he looks world class. Adebayor looks like that on YouTube too.

I am under 35 and I would never put Henry above Adams or Bergkamp, or winterburn or dixon or wright for that matter. He was a phenomenal talent, that never scored in a final, abused the captaincy and courted other clubs while still in contract. He strutted like he owned the place in his final season. He thought he was bigger than the club. The highlights player for the highlights fans.

Thanks for all you do for us but I'm glad you're gone. I hope you're twatty mate Adebayor follows you.

...oh and by the way his farewell to the Arsenal fans was pathetic. Riddled with theatre and guilt.

Grow up.

My sources from SEM tell me that Micah Richards is in London discussing terms with Arsenal and Tottenham.

The source wants to remain anonymous, but it is believed that Spurs have put in a higher bid at his moment in time.

People use his farewell video as a way of proving how much he loved the club? If he loved the club as much as he said, he would have stayed with us, and not left for trophies at another club.

Bergkamp, number 1 in the eyes of every true gooner.

bergkamp's top for me.

How can any "true gooner" have anything but unrequited love for TH14? I am over thirty five, I was born on Benwell Road in Holloway and I have had a season ticket and attended almost every home game since I was four. You can reasonably argue for someone else to be number one in this poll, however - please show a modicum of respect for the man who has SCORED MORE GOALS THAN ANYONE IN OUR HISTORY. 1886, 122 years ago. The fun and joy, exictement and pleasure I got from watching him grow into the finest striker in the world......Sitting in the East Upper, Block B, Row H, Seat 37, watching him miss all those one on ones at first and thinking he was no Ian Wright. Then, Oh and then - Goals, Assists, Speed, that goal and slide against the scum, Man Utd 1-0, Liverpool? that game against Liverpool when he grabbed the team, the Stadium, the whole of fucking North London by the scruff of the neck and scored those goals to beat them. NEVER LOST TO TOTTENHAM IN AN ARSENAL SHIRT. That is why he will always be in our hearts, that is why we love him and that, you fucking idiots, is why he is NUMBER ONE.

I can't believe you guys are slating Thierry out here. The man gave his heart and soul to this club for 8 years, his best years, and you call him a traitor?? He just wanted to play at another club towards the end of his career, and he believed he mad more chances to win silverware with Barca than Arsenal. It's his personal choice damn it! Just cuz he went to another club doesnt mean he cant be named our greatest player. And another thing you need to realize is that he went through a divorce at the same time, and he probably needed a new place and a new start for himself. Frankly, My fav gunner of all time is and always will be Bergkamp, but Henry can't come below 2nd place.

i am the gunner today because Henry!

8 years in a club. 2 league title, 3 FA cup and 5 epl top goal scorer ... he deserve to become the arsenals greatest player

Some the comments up here are pathetic. Terence stayed with us for eight glorious years and scored more goals for us than anyone in history - just celebrate the good times rather than getting all bitter that he left at all. Denis Law left Manyoo does that mean he isnt still a legend for that club? Players leave and in today's climate, 8 years of the world's best striker is something most clubs can only dream of.

AS for the comment that Terence was over-rated and one 'for the youtube generation', you are idiot. Henry's records against the best teams were excellent. The reason he hasnt worked in Italy and Spain is because they have played him on the wings! YOu don't deserve to support a club with players as good as TH14 if you can't appreciate their brilliance when we have them.

a couple of weeks after it surfaced that he was leaving, we all found out that he was going through a divorce - put 2 and 2 together lads and it quite obvious he had to leave london because he wanted to start fresh - i guarantee that if there was no divorce, he would have stayed with us.

because of the divorce he moved away from london. he came out a couple of months ago and went on about he misses his daughter who lives in london. dont get me wrong- he could have stayed in england and played for another team in the premiership but he always said that there was only one club for him in england and that was arsenal.

he is a legend even you boys cant see it - i would ask you to all go and buy the th14 legend dvd and listen to his interviews as this was all done after he left the club - the man loves the club.

Youtube generation,

I watch Thierry in the flesh for years and I find your youtube comment quite insulting. Firstly because I cannot understand how any Arsenal supporter can say this and also saying that we only love Henry becuase of videoclips.

He wasn't perfect as his lack of scoring in finals esp CL06 shows.

Adams/O'Leary stayed for far longer, as did many other players. Bergkamp was the catalyst for raising the playing standards at Arsenal and the Wenger years. TH though kept up a level of playing consistently for years and was the world's best player for a couple of years and the world's most exciting for a lot longer.

I'm 18 and having been following Arsenal since I was 7, so I've been a fan for a lot shorter than most of the people on this blog. Wenger is the only manager I have known and I can't imagine anyone else being in charge of Arsenal. I consider Bergkamp to be the greatest Gunner with Henry as number 2 and Adams 3rd. I can't exactly judge any greats before 1997 because obviously I never saw them play. However I believe my opinion is valid as Arsenal have been more successful under Wenger than any other manager.

Henry. Arsenal broke the bank to keep him when the cash was stretched building the new stadium. He took a £5 million pound signing on fee and over £100,000 a week. (and spent most of the season injured)

As a player the greatest perhaps.
As a loyal Arsenal player NO.
