Better late than never or never?...I think?!

I know. The title confuses me too but it does make sense in a way.

I read today that Le Boss has hinted at a signing if not two. I'm not taking anything that Le Boss says at face value anymore!

The amount of times that he had said something and the complete opposite has happened escapes me.

If Le Boss played poker he would win simply on the basis that you could never know what cards he is playing. He holds his cards very close to his chest.

I suppose on one hand its good that he is so secretive around potential signings although on the other hand its so frustrating to hear Le Boss say we need so and so but then completely contradict himself the next week by saying the opposite.

Nobody knows whether we will sign anyone before dead-line except Wenger. I know that most Gooners believe a signing or two will be great for the club.

So even if it takes until one minute to midnight on dead-line day a signing is better late than never. I just hope it isn't never.

Keep it Goonerish...........

I agree wholeheartedly. Although we have no idea who it will be, I just hope a deal gets done. I believe we have the quality in the squad just not the depth. I still believe that Song is our long term replacement in the center of the park, but bringing in someone like Alonso wouldn't hinder the young players development. It would give us more depth and other options. I am not too sold on the De Guzman idea, but who really knows what will happen.

bearing in mind he's leaving it until the last day the chances are it'll be a premiership player as they won't need to adapt the the EPL (for example diarra / gallas). I'm thinking alonso or michael johnson or preferably both.

can we jus sell ebousless he alone is a disadvantage for us!!!!!!!!!!!

i do believe wenger had targets that he had in mind to sign but it takes three parties for a deal to go through the 2 clubs and the player if player does not want come there is nothing he can do about that.i dont believe in bringing in big names to club, i feel that as long as they are huge talent and they have the right additude thats all that matters the rest is hibe. if wenger can get bargin then fine but we have quite few players to come back

We would have had Inler, which would have been great news, but he turned us down after thinking it over. Still I expect one signing out of Johnson or Veloso - with a possibility of Corluka.

hey Wrighty, nice blog, agree with you 100% sir, better late than never, and also 2 heads are better than 1 ! Get 2 quality MF's in Arsen, you know you want to!

I don't think it's such a mystery how Arsene works in the transfer market. If you really wanted to buy someone, would you seriously say that you're desperate to buy? Clearly agents would then immediately put up their prices on anyone you show the remotest of interest in. If you were in a haggling-centred industry then you'll do whatever it takes to get the best price. One of the best ways is by pretending you're hardly interested.

People clearly have issues over the kind of player he's going for, but no-one can deny he tries to maximise value from his signings. Judging him or his potential buys by what he says in the mainstream media during the transfer window is incredibly short-sighted. The only way you can comment is when the window is shut and the deals are done. Until then it's just pure speculation in newspapers and blogs like these (to generate hits)

I expect us to struggle against Newcastle because Denilson is slow and lazy as DM (where is the f** urgency ?)

After the Newcastle showing, it will be clear we're still struggling in midfield, which I expect with Denilson as Flamini replacement.

I think Wenger should blood Ramsey in the DM role, at least this guy has an english give a 100% mentality, which Denilson (40%) clearly has not. I say sell Denilson, and get a guy suited to english not italian football.

we need a right winger, eboue isnt good enough, alongside walcott. sagna perhaps also should get a backup. and then theres the big gap after flamini.

anyways, great stuff vs newcastle today! rvp get well soon!
