There is no doubt that Adebayor faces a humongous task to win over Gooners after flirting with Barcelona and Milan during the summer.
The badge kissing yesterday meant nothing to me. If anything it pissed me off. If Ade really wants to win back the fans then he needs to apologise for his antics and do it fast.
I'd have a lot more respect for him if he simply came out and said that he was wrong and that he is sorry for being a prize prat.
If he did say sorry we can begin to build bridges and he can restart his Arsenal career on a fresh page.
There are rumours gathering that we are set to sign Alonso, I heard he is quick and finishes very quickly.
Hold on I'm getting confused.............I mean there are rumours we are set to sign Xabi Alonso, the Liverpool midfielder.
Now this is a rumour I like. The Spaniard would be a very good signing for Arsenal and would be a good foil for Fabregas.
I did wonder whether the pair could work together. On paper it seems a dream but look at Gallas and Toure. On paper that partnership looks great but in reality it has its flaws.
I think Alonso and Fabregas would be good for each other though. And Alonso is very experienced.
I'd be more than happy for this to materialise. It wont happen yet. It will happen on August 31st. Trust me, that will be the day that we sign Alonso and Liverpool sign Barry.

Alonso is too much like Denilson. We won't sign him. We are after a defensive midfielder, not an offensive midfielder. Expect Inler, Veloso, or noone.
if he said sorry, no one would believe him anyways. We all know the only reason he is back at Arsenal is because the teams he wanted to join snubbed him quicker than a Veron missed pass.

Dn't see what's different with Adebayor and most other footballers, including Vierra and Henry over recent years. Just seems to be a witch hunt against Ade. Personally I (and probably a majority of Arsenal fans outside the blogs) don't care about what he said or didn't say (most of it was hyped up from SuspectThink he's going to have a great season again and then everyone will be happy again.

OK if money was the case with Henry and Vieira then dont you think they deserved it?
They were the BEST players in the world in their positions and deserved to be paid as the BEST players in the world. They performed year in year out.
Did they do what Ade did? No.
Ade is not the best in the world and doesn't deserve to be paid like the best.
Especially after the antics he used in the summer.
Maybe after 5 years of service and performances he can, until then....
So its alright to be greedy (if that s what it is) when you are older and already being paid £100k per week? But not when you are younger and getting £35k per week? In football-land when you compare what Cashley and Lumpard are getting one could say thay all deserved more. And unfortunately in football-land how you get more money is either to leave or threaten to (pity it doesn't seem to work in real life!)
The best thing for Arsenal this close season was to hold onto its best players. Apart from Flamini (who had one good season) we have done that.
Time to move on and get over it. Ade was an idiot, but he's got the new contract (and he's still probably earning less than the likes of Wes Brown FFS!) as long as he puts in the same kind of performances this season I dont really care.
The comments seem to have moved from ignorant emotional rubbish to intelligent realist quotes. Football in the modern era has changed but not too different from the days of titi & Viera. Titi & Viera both demanded more pay too, it was jst dealt with in their own era based on how much factors such as the general wage market.
The kid scored 30 goals FFS and was paid 35k while f**kalls like Sidwell, Bent & oshea were earning alot more. If youwere in his shoes, wouldn't you ask for a pay rise. Ade is a prat, dnt get me wrong, but not so much different from majority of footballers out there. Instead of booing & killing his confidence, jst monitor him and hopes he performs well cos he is needed this season.

I'm reasonably optimistic about this season, alonso will be a good buy but for 18 million, I will prefer players like Veloso or Inler (inler not 4 18mill tho). Come on Gooners!
adebayor is now paid to the "level" he wanted because he was a 30-goal machine last year. Now lets just all sitback quietly and see whether he does it again. If he does it again he's forgiven in my book, if he doesn't he's a dead man. I dont blame him for asking for more cash, after all shite like carrick,brown,oshea,anelka are all earnong more £80,000 p/w.
