Cesc puts Ade and Hleb to shame

Loyalty.

That's a word that many footballers in this day and age don't have in their vocabulary. In recent times we've seen it at first hand at our own club Arsenal.

Over the summer two of our best players have shown that money is the be-all and end-all with them. Adebayor and Hleb should hang their heads in shame at their disgusting attempts to quit Arsenal to satisfy their greedy needs.

I accept that the days when footballers stay at a club for long periods of their career are pretty much over, however surely it's not hard to show some form of loyalty? Especially to a club, a manager and the fans who made you who you are today.

I accept that both Ade and Hleb have no emotional ties to the club but show some respect. The way they have both publicly courted moves away from Arsenal, inspired by greed, is a disgrace.

There was no need for either to act so distastefully in getting a move. Whilst I would have preferred both to remain, if either would have left the club in a tasteful fashion I would have been upset but would have bid both good luck on their travels.

The way both tried to orchestrate moves has left a horrible taste in the mouth and I can't see a way back for them in the eyes of a Gooner. They have both shown their true colours, proving that money is their god.

Cesc has simply embarassed Ade and Hleb. Not intentially of course, but by showing his loyalty and love for the club. This is a player who pledged his loyalty to the Arsenal cause and one who truly means it.

Cesc is not motivated by money. Of course he is well paid at Arsenal but he is one player who deserves it. His passion for the club is helped by the fact he came at such a young age and has effectively grown from a boy to a man with Arsenal.

His comments about Arsenal have made Gooners very proud to have him in our ranks and many of us can't wait for the day that he is announced as Arsenal captain, which is surely a move Le Boss has on the cards one day.

He puts Ade and Hleb to shame with his unquestioned loyalty to Arsenal. Cesc is on the verge of great things and wants to do it with Arsenal, winning trophies. Hleb and Ade care not for trophies and I don't care what they say, their pockets are their only priorities.

Cesc, you are a star and have been a shining light for Gooners in a difficult summer. Ade and Hleb, hang your heads in shame, you are both a disgrace to the Arsenal badge.

Keep it Goonerish.............

What makes you think Fabregas is anymore loyal than Adebayor or Hleb?
All footballers are disloyal pricks and Fab will bite you all on the arse when he leaves for Barcelona next summer.

So true and it's so hard to find loyalty in the game now, it has become a circus.
Why should Cesc leave right now, there is no reason at the moment, yes it could change but I think the point Wrighty 7 is trying to make is the comments Cesc has make in the last few weeks

top fucking post mate. Brilliant read.
the first anon is a crank of the highest order

Well said Wrighty

Anon at 19:20 is a pusseh hole!

And well spoken Wrighty!

Difference is Hleb is 27, Ade is 24 and Cesc is 21.

Hleb is fully entitled to weigh things up if he's got clubs like Barca interested.

What in the manor he has done it?!

TOO FUCKING RIGHT HE DOES THE MONEY GRABBING BASTARDS. SORRY FOR SHOUTING, KEEP UP THE GREAT STORIES

Another poorly researched post, Cesc admitted to speaking to Real last summer and also said the only reason he wasn't a Barca player was because he didn't think he could get past Xavi. He changed his mind three weeks later when we offered him a bumper contract. But of course most supporters hate Hleb and Ade anyway and Cesc is the golden child. A bit like when RvP, a player who has made Darren Anderton look like a fit individual, bemoaned our wage structure. Everyone ignored that cos RvP is also a golden child, imagine if Eboue had said it. Little Dutch.

Anon 19:43, you're saying Hleb's losing time and is fully entitled to weigh up his options but the fact of the matter is that he had a good chance of winning the PL and CL during the season but instead he met with Inter officials on the eve of our biggest game of the season.

LD;

You are the Obi Wan Kenobi of the Arsenal blogs! Dispensing wisdom and justice in equal measure!

I fully understood Ade's comments Friday, the 2 differing sets, but found his Sunday best comments too much, he seems to be trying to engineer a way out as he's been tipped off that Milan & Barca are interested.

If we get £25mill, then sweet.

Hleb, I feel will stay now.

All footballers will do what ever they thinks best for themselves;

Terry & Lampard at the Chavs; so loyal, they have to be the best paid players at the club.

If a player stays for more then 2 seasons now, they deserve a testimonial!

I agree with you - its the way they are orchestrating the move that leaves the bitter taste not the fact that they are leaving.
lots of good players have left Arsenal and we have not felt bitter about it (Edu, Vieira in the end, Kanu, Pires etc), we wish them well. Its about how you go about it, and Ade and Hleb have shamed themselves.
I am not surprised in the case of Ade. he has a history of bad blood when he wants his way eg with Togo. Hleb I am surprised about. I thought he would be the type of player that once he has signed his contract, he'd get down and keep playing until such a day that he was no longer good enough or a huge offer came in for him. Instead, after all the support we gave him, he went looking for a move.

Here's the difference with these lot. Cesc is amazing full stop. Ade played well beyond his potential last season...he'l probably never do that again and for all hlebs mazy runs and possesion keeping he has no final ball and doesn't recognise what a goal frame is....cash in and move on. Both very replaceable.

I see what you're saying gazzap, but I think Arsenal fans tend to treat players differently. For example, Vieira's constant flirtations could easily have been put to bed by the layer, but they weren't, he put us through the wringer most summers. On Hleb, he has acted like a complete dick with his agent issuing these veiled threats and just looks like a coward. However, I can't agree that Gooners gave him support, I've seldom heard a player so badly bated by Arsenal supporters. But you're right to point out players such as Henry and Edu who, when they did leave, did so with grace and dignity. As it stands, I don't see a big difference between what Ade is doing now and what Cesc did last summer, threatening the club to secure a payrise. Little Dutch.

Is is just about money though? It could be that some players don't have any faith in what Wenger is doing. We have never been the biggest payers but managed to keep players happy because we were successful. Our lack of silverware is also to blame so its about time we started to win.

I don't think that Cesc would move just for money but he would move to a team that challenged for top honours if we don't. That's the reality anonymous 20.06 you total, complete and utter cunt.

I find the whole Ade thing a bitter pill to swallow, Ade joined us and was a complete nobody. Once again Arsene made him into a decent player..potentially a great player and after one good season he is demanding the same wages as Thierry. Get real Ade, Henry was a legend and proved to be a world beater year after year. If we could get decent money then let Ade go, his work rate diminished at the end of the season and his goals dried up and I'm not convinced that he'd score 30 goals every year. The way that he's carried on in the press is disrespectful to Arsenal FC so let the lanky twat go elsewhere. I honestly believe that Hleb would be a big loss to Arsenal but bring in Nasri and hopefully we'll have somebody of equal ability plus he will hopefully shoot! Whether Cesc is as loyal as we all hope is yet to be seen, I hope that he will stay for many years to come and this year I am thankful to him for giving us some stability but who knows what will happen in the next couple of seasons.

Say what you like about Hleb and Ade but they were key players last season. I am not Hleb's greatest fan but he was important last season. We keep losing players which makes it impossible to build and try to catch Manu and Chavscum.

Loyalty is a word rarely used these days. In the case of Fabi's loyalty, We have no reason to doubt his...yet and nor should we doubt him he played alot more games than everybody else last season and his potential is off this world and he is with us for the next 4 years at least so case closed, Fabi is probably the best cm in the world atm of course theres gonna be alot of speculation from other clubs who are interested, but he stood up 2 disloyal players (ade + Hleb icecream is in his blood) and has reassured fans he is staying. Hleb is being replaced with Nasri simple, Nasri didnt get a really good look into Euro but he will play well for arsenal, and ade is so replaceable he isnt worth the money he is getting, wow one good season im pretty sure i remember the season b4 when he was replacing henry when he was injured was one of the most disgraceful displays of finishing ever so let him go there are plenty more players who are way better than him. I actually think bendtner will play a bigger roll this season and his heading ability is nearly unmatched, so i wouldnt worry about the disloyal movement of players, this is ALL APART OF BUILDING A CLUB>

You know, Cesc was the guy who flirted like a harlot with Real Madrid last year. Wenger had to get on his knees and "persuade" Cesc to stay. And then Cesc's agent released a statement thanking Real Madrid for their attention and encouraging them to do it again.

You've got short, short memories.

Cesc will be with us for a while. He has just bought superpad in london's nw3 (hampstead). 4.5mil, cash buy! Those sort of purchases (especially in today's market) don't happen very often...

Ade, at the end of the day if we get 25-30mil for you, we have no reason to keep u, I can't see u improving any more. Thank u for 07/08 but good bye, hope ur another anelka...

As for hleb, it's all relevant to who else we sign, if we pick up nasri then fine get rid of him. But whether ade and hleb stay or go we still need to sign a big big player this year to show we mean business- someone like quaresma or messi/eto (potential swap plus £$£ for both hleb and ade)...

Anonymous said...

I thought Cesc sacked his agent last year after he went behind his back and talked to Real Madrid. But I suppose if the facts don't suit you then just make some up eh.

As a Philadelphia sports fan, which is pretty much sports purgatory, and an avid American Gooner, the idea of free agency is nothing new to me. Players come and go--I've been loyal to about 3 players in sports in my life. But even if they don't win titles, I still bleed the colors of my team. If Ade"money" or and Alexander the Great wish to go, then adios. Wenger will simply fill in the gaps and Gunners will win trophies on heart alone. I cheer for the jersey, not the self-important personalities in them.

Cesc SACKED his agent after he kept on whoring Cesc around Madrid. Thats what I call commitment, has Hleb done the same? Ade does it himself!

Anonymous said...

Quote from Cesc Fabregas' mouth on Spanish TV last summer, "Yes, I spoke to Madrid because they seemed like good people and had made such a great attempt to buy me." He then went on to say he'd prefer to be at Barca but didn't think he could oust Xavi from their starting line up. Wenger confirmed that he did not give permission for Fabregas to speak to Madrid. Those are the facts, if you want to delude yourselves and continue a hate campaign against Adebayor on double standards, fill your boots. But that's the truth whether you want to face it or not. Cesc sacked that agent and hired Darren Dein, who brokered the sale of Henry to Barcelona. Little Dutch.

Little Dutch?! More like Little Dick!

Wow what a compelling argument. I'm sorry if my posts have forced you to confront a truth you're not comfortable with. The abuse just confirms your insecurity to me. Little Dutch

Wow, the intensity of all these arguments. Wrightly nice post. Now, on Ade, he should go, Da Silva is a good striker, and thus we dont need Ade. Da Silva scored +,- 12 goals before injury, in mid-season. Picture what would happen if he had a full season. Bentner is a good striker as well, so Ade arguments are done. Hleb, well i think Le Boss should let him go, and get Nasri in. Kolo is the only Loyal Gunner. Lets stop bickering and see what happens. I think this season silverware should follow. Our players had quite a good season and got valuable experience. i think our team just needs to work hard at keeping momentum at the end part of the season. But in the new season the Gunners will be the best.

Anyway, how much of a player's loyalty is to the club, and how much is it to the people they know AT the club? We'd all like to believe that the Arsenal play for us, but really, they play for themselves, their pay checks and each other - probably in that order. If we fans get a look in, it's a distant, distant fifth (behind their groupies).

Loyalty doesn't matter. We love them while they're ours, and we hate them when they're not. C'est la vie. Three second memories are the lot of the one-eyed fan.
