Has Ade's "FLIRTING" hurt us more than we think?....

I'm trying to forget about Adebayor's behaviour over the summer. I'd love to try and move on and draw a line under the situation but I cant. So if I cant let go does that mean I'm not the only one?

What I'm saying is maybe morale in the squad isn't the greatest at the moment and maybe one or two players cant forget Adebayor openly offering his services to other clubs.

Things like this can affect performances on the pitch and it niggles away in the back of your mind. When Ade missed that chance against West Brom last week the first thought in my mind was why didn't you clear off in the summer? Who's to say some players didn't think the same?

Ade really undermined the rest of the squad with his pay demands. By asking for so much money he effectively was stating that he was the best player in the squad when clearly he isn't. By flirting with the big guns of Europe he was saying that he is too big for Arsenal. He isn't.

I'm not trying to add fuel to an already burning fire but this has to come into account for Arsenal's poor start to the season. Ade got a bit too big for his boots in the summer and I wonder whether some of the players resent his presence now in the squad.

Although I really hope I'm wrong and that isn't the case. But could Ade's summer behaviour be a factor in Arsenal's poor form?

Keep it Goonerish............

I'm not blaming everything on Ade, just asking could it be a factor?

I'm with you on this one Wrighty. I've hated the egotistical wanker since last season...he is not bigger than the club no one is..despite all the grief he put everyone through in the summer, when no one came to buy him why the hell was he given a new contract and pay rise? Can somebody answer this question? Surely we were in a stronger position not to bow to his pressure. For fucks sake he's getting £80 a week. Honestly people is he worth that much? Thanks

Are you looking for a scapegoat. As much as I dislike how he behaved over the closed season, No, do not blame him for our current situation.

Wrighty7 said...

For me if Ade did the business this season then I'd agree he would deserve a rise in wages.

But not after one good season.

Wrighty7 said...

I'm not looking for a scapegoat. I'm just asking that maybe his behaviour has affected the players.

That amongst other things.

Flamini - no contract.
Adebayor - signed contract.

Nuff said. We've got a striker on our hands that Milan and Barcelona were will to pay 25 million for.

Without a supply line Ade cannot possibly repeat last seasons goal scoring feats. What is hurting the Arsenal is losing what was the best midfield in the prem and having to rely on the likes of Denilson and Eboue as replacements.

Wrighty7 said...

As I've said there are many factors for Arsenal's poor form but I believe that Ade's behaviour could be one.

I'm not laying all the blame at Ade's feet.

Carl, I agree with your comments and I've been wondering that too?

Ego's in the dressing room are never helpful. This guy needs to be either chopped down to size or shipped out. I have supported Arsenal for over 25 years and no one player has made me this upset than Ade. He deserves the booing, maybe the message will hit home?

What affects our team more that anything else is the lack of leadership both on and off the pitch.
In some clubs you get dropped just for turning up late. Arsene needs to grow some balls and be less nicey with his players

Anonymous said...

Not for me Wrighty. Solely on AW's shoulders this one and his neglect at filling the midfield vacancy of Flamini and true leadership of the team.

None of Diaby, Eboue and Denilson has the quality for this role. We need that position filled and preferably another to cover so Cesc and this person can get a break occasionally or when injuries occur.

Anonymous said...

I really cannot see the sense in booing your own. Not unless you really want your team to lose?

Anonymous said...

NO, its not ADEBAYOR'S fault..has nothing to do with him. No midfield to feed strikers = NO GOALS..when Fab, Rosicky or someone capable come in the MID, ADE AND RVP will score again..until then, lets blame WENGER..he's the one who think Walcott, eboue, gallas & Denilson are good enough to challange for the title!!!

Anonymous said...

Well said Patrick7, that is exactly what I am referring to when I speak of lack of leadership off the pitch.

I have to disagree. While Ade is wasteful it front of net, I don't see his off season actions hurting the team. Frankly, I think it's the lack of players that will do us in. Just look at what our CM has been reduced too. Eboue and Denilson? Both of them are servicable reserve players, but they shouldn't see the light of day as starting CM. I'm all for youth, but when you rely on them as heavily as Wenger has, the lack of experience is going to show.

I for one am pissed that our best players are leaving and we are replacing them with the likes of Silvestre! Senderos was a true Arsenal spirit, along with Gilberto. Those are the kind of players we will miss.

Flamini should have been offered a higher salary.

Eboue and Denilson were crap in midfield WE NEED TO RUSH into the transfer market! Both of them were afraid to get stuck in there!

My god we are pathetic this season by the looks of our first two games..

Walcott dosn't deserve to start. As simple as that!

How many games will Eboue play without anyone of the coaching staff realising he's crap!

We are losing players every your without ever replacing them.
We don't stand a chance of winning anything bigger than the FA this season. That is the hard truth!...

He can't be blamed for the team's failing, that is right, but i see where you are coming from. I liked Adebayor alot at the end of last season, but after this summer i know he is not as loyal to Arsenal as others are. He is mainly motivated by money in my opinion, and his whining in the summer got him a vastly bigger contract here. He stayed, yes, but only for however many thousands. Whose to say he won't leave next summer and do a Cashley Cole? I think a good phrase to sum it up is, 'broken trust is like a vase, it can be fixed but will never be the same.' That is similar to my liking of Adebayor. Give me someone loyal like Van Persie, Toure or Fabregas over him ANYDAY

Spot on wrighty.

Anonymous said...

More often than not I agree with u Wrighty but this once I don't. No Adebayor is not responsible.... whatever he did over the summer has been swept under the carpet at the club atleast thats what they should do as professionals. As far as our poor form is concerned, the blame sits squarely on the shoulders of AW.

just wondering if anyone else is irritated as much as me by ade parading around in his togolese sweatbands whilst playing for arsenal?

Anonymous said...

you know what guys, I would totally agree with the majority of all gooners that we indeed need to purchase a capable strong midfielder so that we can fight for honours with much certainty this season. However, as much as many had slaughtered this fellow, I think if he's injury free, Diaby would be perfect for this role. He has all the skills in the world and I believe if he's lucky enough, he is definitely someone who can make an impact. However, he would have to be really hardworking and adopt the drive and fire that our former captain Vieira has. Let's give this fellow a chance when the time comes but for now yeah, a signing would be very much preferred.

Now we are annoyed because Ade wears Red gold and green sweatbands. He was wearing them throughout last season, what is he problem. I know, let's all hate Ade. I'm gonna get off here, next you'll be abusing the man because of his skin colour.

Anonymous said...

Can't scapegoat Ade on this one. As has been stated, this is all on AW sholders.

Anonymous said...

WTF does greedy need sweatbands for anyway???

Anonymous said...

I think the problems lie with not enough competition 4 places ade,RVP are always sure 2 start wicth makes them feel invincable when in fact ither 1 could b droped 4 such poor proformances the same 4 gallas & toure. As 4 wallcot, eboue and denilson
they are not fit 2 play in the same team or b in the same squad as Fabregas its just facts.Fulham was harsh facts. as 4 flirting all men like 2 test there boundries an when we get cought we get booed just as ade does an should,THIS IS THE ARSENAL,WHERE THE BADGE WITH PRIDE

Anonymous said...

Arsenal are one of the most popular supported teams on the African continent. Just about everywhere uou go, you will see people wearing Arsenal shirts. Red, gold and green make up most of the their flags colours, so Ade wants to wear his colours wtf has that got to do with anyone.

ade is a fucking hopeless lump of shite ...

arsenal have lowered there standards by giving in to his outrageous terms . in the EPL world were other clubs have class strikers like torres - berbatov - santa cruz - alves ..
Ronaldo .. the list of hit men go on!
we have ade ! half of you writing on here wouldnt know about football if 1 hit you in the fucking face ! like that fuckin 1st loser on todays comments

Wrighty has an opinion , he is allowed to have 1, get off his case , because in all honesty it hasn't helped arsenal ! we cant afford flamini to get more cash or hleb .
but ade .. ok !

1st touch of a rapist ..
club record offside holder ..
needs 30 chances to make 1 !
scoreless in both EPL games !
yeah value for fuckin money !

Anonymous said...

It's a pity he wasn't wearing Barcelona colours.

Anonymous said...

Ade was nowhere near being the worst player on the pitch in that game. As a matter of fact he looked the most likely to score. The players needs to worry about what is going on the pitch not what he is going on in Ade's pockets. Just staying on Ade's case won't help the team at all because no matter what you say he is the one that scores the goals. If not him then who? RVP when was the last time? right

Good afternoon Ethan.

Any one can see that Adebaywhore's greed and delusion that he is as good as Henry has upset the balance in the team, he misses more than he scores and he has missed crucial goals, he should go as he has no heart, only a brain driven by greed.
He simply isn't an Arsenal player just someone waiting for the next gravy boat to take him to more riches the greedy two-faced cunt.
The sooner he goes the better we will feel and so will the players.
£80,000 a week it's an insult to the decent players Arsenal have

The uncertainty in his future unsettled us during pre-season, but now that can all be put behind us, he has to prove his worth to us and justify his new "MEGA" deal. He hasn't looked exactly right since the summer, he hasn't bullied the two fairly shit defences we've played against in the Prem yet, and I hope that changes soon. All these pescimists who say Wenger should leave, and that he's had his moment can go and fuck off as well, honestly they are beginning to sound like Spuds fans, bastards, the team wont play to it's maximum if the fucking crowd don't get behind them soon. I mean very soon, before it's too late and people start wagging fingers left, right and centre. If we want the team to play for us, us being at the moment ungrateful cunts who have forgot what these young lads have provided us recently with the most creative, intelligent attacking football the world has seen since that Ajax side of the 70's, the Brazilian national team of a just gone by era. We need to give these guys something to look at and say "look at our fans, we gotta fight for them" that in itself will spur them on to greatness, they have the potential, but with no appreciation for them they aren't going to show there true potential. Wenger is the best thing thats happened to us since George Graham getting the sack, everything that happened after that, apart from Dennis the menace rolling into town has happened because of Wenger, the success, all of the "No, I did not see that" incidents, the laughs, the crys, the missed penalties, the beautiful goals, the French Strikers, the stupid transfers for stupid reasons, the youngsters and along with them, the beautiful football. We all know what the proffessor is capable of, now lets give him some room to work, and give the players a chance to prove the doubters wrong. Victory Through Harmony. In Arsene I Trust, but do you lot?

Gunner #1

if adebayors flirting hurt the squad then it shows how unproffesional we are ,afterall none of the players play for the fun of it! viera did it every year imagine how it would have hurt us if he left and we had robin stand still van persie playing upfront with dead body walcott , what hurts arsenal is players like van persie ,everyone knows that man could start an argument all alone in an empty room , and gallas being captain dont help when he points the finger ,players like kolo need to grow up ,he has gone backwards since cambell left ,it shows how good sol and keown were to carry him ,he need to man up! our best form has happened whenever robin was injured ,think about it!

wrighty 7 ,what did you make of sagna signing a contract giving him almost double wages ? he had 3 years left on his deal the same as ade ? why is this not spoken of? why was sagna given a new deal at the same time as gael cliche while arsenal tried to brush ade under the carpet not believing he was smaryt enough to rumble their penny pinching plan hoping he would say nothing!

Wrighty7 said...

Sagna didn't go running to the press demanding that he get his parity with Henry or he'll leave.

Vieira didn't either.

Anonymous said...

Fabregas's, Clichy's and Sagna's agents didn't go touting their clients around europe or the press.
They were proffesional.
If Ade wants forgivness sack his agent.

... Let's not forget Humor...

If we're not going to buy, why Wenger is wasting his educational experiments on Eboue better spend it on Walcott/RvP:
What about teaching Walcott/RvP
how to defend and play midfield?
I say: Walcott as defensive midfielder (Grow some flamini hairdoe LOL) this season and RvP as right Winger (our CR7!)

At least we'd have some fun with experiments, because the Denilson/Eboue idea is not even funny

Anonymous said...

all I'll say is, you cant send out a midfield of Walcott, Eboue, Denilson and Nasri and hope to get anything

Fulham will probably surprise a few teams at home this season

But Wenger needs to get an decent central midfielder in fast, whys he leaving it so long?

cuntchops

Ade is less than prolific (read: crap) in front of goal and has poor technique. He's of good size and a good ball holder while the rest of the team lumbers up - that one can agree. Already realised from last mid season how many chances he takes to convert even before his transfer fiasco recently.

However, we are Arsenal and we simply need a better Centre Forward than Ade.

Wenger appears to have lost the plot somewhat and his sphere of influence/contacts also appear to be limited to the French connections only. This cannot be good.

Let us get behind the team this season and let Le Boss try out this bunch of new young guns. We can decide about him towards the later part of the season when the results are out.
