Is the boy made of glass???.....

Arsenal's performance tonight was sublime. It was an absolute pleasure to watch at times, we played some fantastic stuff.

Although I'm very happy with the result and the way we got it, I can't help but feel that the gloss of the performance has been taken away slightly.

The sight of Robin Van Persie hobbling off around the pitch with his boot in his hand dampened my mood.

He was immense today and you could really see the difference in his game. He was sharp and up for it. It's a shame his evening ended so soon as I was really enjoying watching him play.

We have seen RVP limp off the pitch so many times and for me it has got to the point where I worry for him when he makes a challenge. Today he even got injured taking a shot!

He is having an X-ray on his ankle as the extent of the injury isn't known. I'm seriously bracing myself for the worst.

Without doubt Van Persie is a very important player to this Arsenal side. When he is fit he makes a big difference to us.

It makes me feel for him when I see that he is beginning to show his true form and then out of nowhere he gets another injury.

Is Van Persie made of glass? I hope for his sake he can get over these injury problems or I say regrettably, he is becoming a liability for Arsenal.

Sorry for sounding pessimistic on a night when Arsenal performed superb.

Keep it Goonerish..................

suck our dick's

I heard this chant at the emirates today when the penalty went in......

And?

It's not pessimism, it's a fair comment. I hope he isn't injured, otherwise it is time to sell him. No one should be getting injured that frequently. Nasri is so awesome. I'd still like to see about two players come in. 4 competitions, injuries, internationals, suspensions, loss of form. So many known variables that can mess things up, better to prepare for the inevitabale.

I watched RVP a lot today, even when he wasn't on the ball.

One reason he gets injured, I think, is that he's a committed player and he challenges for ball all over the pitch.

The problem is that he's lanky, with long legs and constantly winds up getting one of his legs caught in a tangle.

He did it several times today, sticking his leg into a a dangerous spot to try snatching at the ball.

This boy is too valuable to be risking himself like a defensive midfielder. When he's got position for a loose ball, hell yes, go for it. But chasing lost causes by sticking a foot into a meat grinder is no way to stay healthy.

And RVP can make a huge difference in how far this young team will go.

Very fair assessment on RVP mate.

He is an unbelievable player but he is damn injury prone!

He frustrates the hell outta me because on his day there are hardly any better, ANYWHERE!

Keep up the good work Wrighty.

I agree to a certain extent.

Van Persie isn't becoming a liability, HE IS ONE!

We need to get rid of deadwood like him and Rosicky and start again.

It may have a silver lining in Wenger signing two players instead of one. Gervinho is the only one currently linked, but I'm sure there are many possibilities.

anyone at the match today hear ade being booed? I'd like to know whether people are starting to realise that it doesn't help ARSENAL to boo adebayor... He's confidence is so low that he'd rather pass to walcott than shoot from 8 yards!

A new signing will be announced in the morning. The players medical was completed while the game was being played.

ROFLMFAO van p injured. thell me something i dont no. van p needs to see someone about his paper legs asap. but at least hes in and out of the team, where as thimas neeeds to be sold, its getting beyond a joke now, we heard in close season hes had his opp and will be ready now hes not playing for the czechs internationally till after october so i guess that means for us too. hes not even in and out of the team hes always injured

Agree that each time he goes down there's worry but he didn't get injured from just shooting. He put a lot of power in that strike and was caught by the Newcastle fullback. They are talking about a possible break, which can't happen from just striking a ball.

Anonymous said...

There was no booing and RvP took a lot of kicks from the Newcastle players with no protection from that twat Rob Styles, it was a definite penalty when RvP was taken down.

He took a lot of punishment but hopefully it's just swelling

Van Persie is NOT a liability!

Why do people say such stupid things? I guess it must be frustration because we are all disappointed when he can't play but he is a top quality player.

The people talking about getting rid of him talk like they are having to pay his salary personally. And NO, fans don't pay his salary! Fans pay to watch football matches and the club pays his salary from the money they make out of that.

I listened to Radio 5 Live on my way to the match today and there was a discussion about transfers. As always (with the exception of Lee Dixon), they worked on the basis that the more you spend, the stronger you become, but what we really need is one or two players who can really change games in a moment. Van Persie is one of those but there are few amongst the transfer dealings that have taken place this summer. So, let's stop the stupid talk about Van Persie being a liability.

Well we just have to teach him to be like HEnry which is a good thing!!! Henry went virtually 5 or 6 seasons without injury as he'd skip out of the way of tackles and NOT tackle unless he knew he could get the ball.....simple

'Scotland Steve' you're spot on.

I've seen V.Persie stick his leg out like that for 3 years now. He wants to be injured. He likes to sit on his arse earning 60k a week doing nothing. When tournaments arrive he makes a miraculous recovery.

He's currently negotiating a new deal. I expected him to stay fit until that was at least finalised and signed. Either he's already signed or he's made up his mind to sign with someone else. There's a bad smell about him.

Anonymous said...

jackcarter, rvp likes to sit down injured? thats is a rather silly statement dont you think?

lets hope he is ok, thats the best and most positive thing to do!

Anonymous said...

jack he wants to be injured, that IS a joke right?

i hope it's an ironic swipe at those talking badly of him rather than a serious comment.

without hearing your tone it's impossible to tell

I dont belive van Persie is injury prone. He is very committed and that is what gets him in to trouble.

Bergkamp was smarter that way trying to avoid trouble, but then again he didnt help much out on the defence.

jack carter ur a twat, he is a gd player but is too commited unlike adebayor who is the laziest player i have seen in my life.

Gooner through and through here. thought i'd share with you guy this article in te guardian. good piece on wenger and the "youths" policy at arsenal. enjoy. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2008/aug/31/arsenal

RVP Is awesome and unlucky when it comes to injuries, he is still young and as he gets older hopefully he can overcome these injury problems. Arsenal need he full services now though but sometimes you have to be more patient.I hope that everything is fine and he is not injured as it would be a massive blow I wish him the best.Anybody see Viera at the game? Was he just visiting?Shoudn't he be in Italy for the start of Seria A?Is he still injured that's why he's not in Italy? Was he at Emirates for talks of a possible return? If so is a Viera return in Arsenals best interest?Just speculating.

Scorcher, I was wondering the same thing. I was watching the game and my three kids at the same time so I wasn't totally sure. Inter played today so that's more than a little odd. Anybody got any info?

Thats the Arsenal from last December, beautiful football the best footballing team to watch in the country. We climbed from 15th place to 2nd, thats quite good.!!!!!

i have the same feeling too. everytime someone puts in a tackle, i'll be praying its not van persie or fabregas on the receiving end. i hope its not van persie simply because he is way too fragile and fabregas because he is just way too important for us. look the difference he brought to the side.

This is my first time on this idiotic website and if you fools don't have any other thing to write about I'd say just shut your damn mouth!
Is van persie made of glass? what a stupid question. I think Van persie is a great players and players always knock him hard that's why he gets injuries..... Its funny how no one complains when he scores and wins games for arsenal...Ignorant fucks!

Wenger made three mistakes:

1. Keep RvP and Fabregas too long: could have been replaced earlier by Vela/Ramsey. Now RvP is injured..if Fabregas had been injured by N.Butt/Barton I would have stop watching arsenal for the rest of season

2. Denilson (lazy& painfully slow )should have been subbed to A.Song

Ok thanks. I hope Joey Barton can be shipped to Afghanistan, I feel his skills as an asshole will be well appreciated in the army there

Gr8 post wrighty. Whenever persie goes down I always start praying but fear the worst. He's so valuable to the team. Today although Ade didn't score but it was one of his best performance. He worked his socks off. I don't like Ade much. But if he performs like this then I'll really happy with him. Fab4 was again very tenacious and creative. But the most important 4 me today was NAsri's tackle on Barcunt. Immediately after his introduction he tried to snap Samir's leg. Thank god he escaped that challenge unscathed. But immediately after that he tripped Barcunt which tells u that this boy is a winner. He's really something special. He told barcunt if you kick us you would be punished.

I doubt hes actually broke his ankle. He was up and walking right after it happened, someone with a broken ankle cant walk right away, just look at Bouma at Villa, he broke his ankle and was almost in tears and had to be strecerhed off. and theres Neville, he curled up and needed the help of 2 physios just to get off the pitch so i doubt he has broken it, atleast we have an excuse for him not to go play for Holland next week!

Anonymous said...

I'm sure he walked off the pitch against ManUre two years ago and it was a broken foot!

Anonymous said...

RVP was injured fromn a CRUNCHING TACKLE from BUTT if I remember correctly which forced him off.

Anonymous said...

For fuck's sake you whining cunt. He got done twice, both late, and both on the same foot that Neville broke.

Anyone is made of glass if cunts like Butt are allowed to crunch their studs into your ankle without any protection from the ref (and it was that wanker Styles anyway, so to be expected).

You're just a fucking moaner. Get fucked and go and support Tottenham, at least they are used to having bleating little schoolgirls as fans.

What is happening to this club when all these negative, pathetic little shits can set up a "blog" and slag our club off? We need to start giving these wankers a fucking filling in.

Anonymous said...

as soon as he has a good game he gets injured.

Anonymous said...

and there i thought us gooners support anyone who wears the mighty red of arsenal.plastic fans or wot

Anonymous said...

PERHAPS IF YOU HAVE BROKEN YOUR LEG OR ANKLE YOU WOULD BE MORE SYMPATHETIC. WE KNOW HES INJURY PRONE BUT THIS SITE IS A BLOODY DISGRACE, I DONT NORMALLY POST HERE, BUT YOUR ATTITUDE IS BEYOND BELIEF

Anonymous said...

hes only bruised his foot you muppets!arsenal 4 life!

Anonymous said...

To be fair Wrightys post is valid - in short there is a worry if he goes down, you're hoping he's not going to be fucked for a few games or a few months....as for some of the posts saying sell him, liability etc that is shyte....He is technically the most gifted player at the Emirates = FACT

Anonymous said...

pathetic blog. You are a waste of space

Anonymous said...

Wrighty I hear he's fit enough for Holland now but yeah I worry every time he goes down, he's so important for us. I've always said if he stays fit he'll score 20-25 goals a season.

Wrighty7 said...

Good good Marko. Totally agree with you mate.

Anonymous said...

We discussed this yesterday, great technique but he is always going to get injuries because he hits the ball so hard ... alf

Anonymous said...

He gets injured because he doesn't know how to stand up or run properly. he knows he is skilful so he prances around like a prima donna. which is also why players love getting stuck in on him.

Anonymous said...

name someone better than RvP
