Another gem unearthed by Wenger?

I've never seen Amaury Bischoff play but I'm looking forward to seeing him in an Arsenal shirt for the first time. He is in the squad for tonight's Carling Cup game against Wigan so hopefully he will feature at some stage.

He has been showing some promise in the reserves so lets hope he can reproduce that form into his first team career.

Some people feel that Arsene Wenger took a gamble on signing Bischoff after his injury problems but the gamble could prove to be worthwhile. After all, Bischoff didn't cost a penny and he could become another one of Arsene Wenger's smart transfer moves.

I've no doubt that he must have some potential otherwise Le Boss wouldn't have signed him.

One thing that confuses me is where is he actually from? Is he French? Or is he Portuguese? I hope Portuguese because,

A) I can call him a Portugeezer

B) He may progress to full international level for Portugal and injure Ronaldo in a training ground tackle.

Anyway, Le Boss has unearthed unknown gems before, I hope that this is another one.

Keep it Goonerish.................

If you have ATVO watch the highlights of the Reserves 2-0 win against Fulham. Scores a cracker and sets up the other.

Bentley-esque although from 25 yds not 42.....

iv been watching him in the reserves and his awareness is exceptional, so is his passing. he reminds me alot of scholes.

he had a blinder in the reserves the other night his pass to rui fonte was world class.

Seriously??? Like Paul Scholes!??

Now I'm getting excited!

isn't he a bit too old to become a really good player? he's not 17, 18 or 19 as some of the prospects in the club are. even this Lenny guy we are reportedly looking at is 20, but has played a dozen games. but i hope he's good and develops fastly, even though i would rather see Francis Coquelin(or however his name is spelled) play some more as he looks really exciting.

Bischoff has looked ok in the reserves, nothing special though. He's most Cesc like than scholes, his vision and passing look very good at times, but he's not been involved overly in any of the three reserve games he's played. His goal against Fulham was a lovely piece of skill and nice enough hit though the keeper should have saved it. His pass for rui fonte was sublime as well. Apart from those two instances in the fulham match and a couple of nice touches, he's had trouble getting involved. After so long out and only having played three reserve games though gotta think he isn't even half fit yet, he's still a long way behind the likes of youngsters like Wilshere, Ramsey, Vela in terms of being considered for the first team, lets hope though.

In terms of his nationality he was born in France but his mum is Portuguese so he's half and half, he's decided he wants to play for Portugal though now so he can be classed as a Portugueezer

I was at the game, only got to see Bischoff for10 mins or so, not really fair to judge him on that.

Wilshere, Vela, Fabianski, Merida and Simpson all did themselves some favours tonight.

Fabianski for the No. 1 jersey!

Fabianski. Well Im sorry Almunia, but even if Fab made a few errors at the start, his willingness to command his area is far better than timid Almunia. And his double save at the death, stunning.

Really good keeper who looks to get the ball moving quickly every time.

Give him the No.1 jersey lets start getting him some experience.

Mother's Portuguese and Father's French. His born in France, but for whatever reason, he took up Portuguese citizenship. And like you, im anticipating news of a career-ending tackle on that playboy.
