Last night was an absolute pile of shit. How many times have we said that this season?
Its beginning to become the norm.......
Despite this inconsistency I still believe that Arsenal can win the Champions League. Call me mad or delusional, Arsenal on their day can match and beat the best.
We could draw Roma, Panathanaikos, Barcelona, Bayern Munich or Juventus in the next phase of the Champions League.
I look at Barcelona as the only game I'd want to avoid at this stage. Purely because I want to avenge the 2006 final.
Arsenal can beat any of those sides. It depends what Arsenal turn up. If the Arsenal from last night turn up, expect a hiding, but if the Arsenal who beat Manchester United turn up then why should we fear anyone?
Those sides will NOT want to face Arsenal. Trust me, Arsenal are the name any side in the tournament will not want to face.
This Jekyll and Hyde team have to hit a run of form at some time this season. And an Arsenal side full of confidence is a very dangerous prospect for anyone to face.
Keep it Goonerish...............

Love the optimism Wrighty!
I want BARCA :P I still have nightmares over the final a couple of years ago :/ I know they are the best team in the world at the moment, but I think that Clichy could erase Messi, witch would erase Barca ^^
i don't care about last night's game to much.. this side could have played in the carling cup, but not really in the CL!
gallas was crap again.. so was pink pandtner.. i wonder how long wenger will stick with him! send him out on loan again.. eduardo hopefully makes a quick return..
some years ago we got rid of campbell when he was over 30 and had some problems at the club an in private.. maybe that's the way arsene should deal with gallas now.. hopefully toure + djourou are back in there again on saturday!
as I am from germany i would really love a game against bayern.. there is still some anger from the last defeat in munich..
come on you arses!
I think I would rather Barca. We only seem to try in the big games these days.
HI wrighty
I agree, they will all fear us.
Also playing the first game at home, is all about keeping a clean sheet.
If we can do that, and say win 1-0, then the second leg is all about soaking up pressure, and scoring on the break.
Mark C
Too true Mark C.
Even a 0-0 is a good result if you are at home in the first leg.
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH...
I pay good money and I'm not enjoying watching Arsenal any more... I am sick and tired of AW's blind faith and optimism. This is the 2nd year were blowing our lead and finishing 2nd in the CL group, and making our lives even harder. Would it have been too much to ask the first team to play ? Mr Wenger, stop feeding us crap...
did porto play their first team?
the games we would have got now if we'd have finished first would'nt be easier..
the prem league is more important at the moment.. if we get back on track there we can use our confidence for the CL
Delusional is an understatement..! You must be crazy if you honestly believe that a team that can't defend, has no midfield backbone, can't take a set peice let alone a simple corner, doesn't like shooting and can't take on then beat a player before crossing in the ball is capable of winning the CL!!! You need locking up for your own safety mate and sending to another planet!
i just hope we don't draw roma or panthanaikos coz then we're gonna turn up thinking we've already won(no disrespect to them)..n both these teams could walk over us..whereas munich juve n barca will draw the best from us..n if we are at our best we can beat them..my prediction is that fabregas gets a double in the home leg and we draw the away leg..
Good post Wrighty.
I totally agree with you.
Yeah.Very true in an non biased view.
gettin cocky r u?u talk of beating europe's best on the assumption of wat exactly? u only play well against the best sides?so u would walk ovr barca while messi and co r in gallas's back pocket?ha ha
