Andrey the Giant!

Andrey Arshavin maybe a man short in size and stature but he will become a giant of a player for Arsenal.

His goal today was immense and straight out of his You-Tube drawer. Type Arshavin in You-Tube and you will see goal after goal of similar style.

His arrival at Arsenal seems to have had a knock-on effect to the rest of the side and it has given everyone associated with Arsenal a huge lift. With the business end of the season in sight the lift couldn't have arrived at a better time.

I have one question though about Arshavin. Why does he wear gloves? I'd have thought it would be hot over here in England compared to Russia!

The 4-0 hiding of Blackburn wasn't all down to Arshavin and Nicklas Bendtner tried his best to keep the score line as low as possible.

Gooners are split on Bendtner but I think he should be given a break. The booing was wrong and to be honest there was really no need. Yes, he missed chance after chance but it was petty to get on his back like that.

I happen to think he will become a very good player and if he did leave the club as a result of him being booed then it could come back to bite us on the arse.

Eboue is the other player used to being booed by Gooners but fingers crossed he has turned the corner. He hasn't endeared himself to the Arsenal faithful in the past with his antics but if he works hard on the pitch then we can build bridges with him.

The result was flattering for Blackburn and could have been a lot more than the four goals we did score. What makes it even more sweeter is the fact Fat Sam is in charge of Blackburn. I can't stand that man and to see his face looking like thunder at the end warmed my cockles.

It's over to the Spuds now to do us a favour against Villa but in my opinion finishing in the top four is down to us. We have the quality and players coming back from injury and that should be enough.

Keep it Goonerish............

i was highly impressed with arshavin, he setup lots of clear cut chances today and also scored a cracker, he is going to be a big player for us, looks like we got the best player whereas tottenham got the likes of modric...
bendtner was wasteful but he showed signs of becoming a good player, least he mad the runs to get those chances. i duno y i just dont like adebayor anymore, he seems to be far to casual and lazy these, its almost as if 1 good season for him was enough to satisfy him...
eboue has played well recently and his confindence seems high, i was very suprised to c him taking the spot kick...
is it me or has walcott bulked up...he doesnt seem so lightweight anymore, for a player who has been out for 4 months he did great...
the whole team played well and we didnt even concede a goal but the unsung hero for me was song..i dont know if anyone has noticed he doesnt seem clumsy anymore and actually can play cutting edge passes aswell...i know this is maybe too much to say that perhaps he will become our next viera..
anyway everything seems to be going well...cant wait for the rest of the squad to become fit...i think we have got a title winning side no question at all...

Yeah, enjoy this blog very much.
Not only has Eboue turned a corner, Arsenal have. Denilson and Song seem so different to where they were at a few months back.
Bendtner is improviing and atleast he is there to have a chance. His workrate is also pretty good and underrated.
I personally think he'll be better than Adebayor.
Having said that I would rather we scrap the big man from start of every game and has pace and clever movement down the middle in with Vela/Eduardo/Walcott/Van Persie.
Adebayor/Bendtner to play in certain types of game from the start and an excellent option to not only change the personnel but also the team's style.
Anywho, heres hoping Tottenham win...fuck it, I don't mind if Villa win. We'll still catch them and quite frankly, fuck spurs.

has anyone noticed our fullbacks cant f**kin cross....i mean ye they bomb forward but its so frustrating when sagna and clichy cant cross...!!!!

great performance today...specially 2nd half..our passing was so quick and so much 1 touch passes that blackburn just could not deal with it...
i just cant wait to have a world class finisher upfront like eduardo to keep those goals coming...

Arshavin is class fella! Top player, just what we needed. Even tho there was some askin questions about the wisdom in signing him.

Maybe the Roma result has given the team a real lift, just as Arshavin has...

Lets keep it goin!

I know Nickey drove us mad but he did every thing right but score,
He worked his "B" off & led the line well where are there any 21 year olds leading the line in the premier league Song who I thought I would never say was emense & did you think that Kolo played better with Joroue.
I think that N bentner need encouragement more than discouragement

Our away fans are the best in the country, without a doubt, but our fans at home are silent and obnoxious, we can't wait to get on the backs of our players. yes I know we are frustrated, but what about our performance? If the home crowd was a player we would be a bench warmer at Derby. I wouldn't put it past certain players and a manager leaving based on that.

Anonymous said...

Spot effin on! Every away game is great...we sing from start to finish... cant say the same at home. The teams performances are no excuse, IMO as surely if the team aint playing well, then they need the support even more.

Im bored of goin on about it to tell the truth. Some of our 'fans' are pathetic.

The thing that bothers me is the spurning of chances. All season gooner fans have expressed concern at the wastage of goal scoring opportunities.
Yes BR were brushed aside and it can only get tougher.Next stop Hull. The gunners maybe favoutites
but those guys from the north east are no pushover.
The gunners underestimate them at the expense of a cup sf.

I agree with whoever said that niklas bendtner needs encouragement not booing. He has led the line brilliantly in the past month and arsenal would not have played as well today without him. Great writeup. Agree with most of what you said as usual..

Are you a Hull fan fella?

Wrighty7 said...

The booing's got to stop.

Of course being a Gooner I understand the frustration but if we continue to boo our own, unnecessarily, then we will a bad reputation.

Anonymous said...

Booing is what we are sposed to do to the effin opposition... or howard Webb!

There's a real issue here developing, booing our own when things dont work out, ironic cheering, singing for other players (like the chants for RvP when bendy missed a few today).. When did this shite start?

The emirates has given rise to a number of supporters who really aint got the hang of this supporting lark!!!

Wrighty7 said...

Its pure frustration Spike but that doesn't make it right.

It must be scary being a player knowing that any second you maybe booed!

Anonymous said...

Arshavin is what we needed. Next I would like to see Veloso at the emirates.

I am so surprised to c Wenger and Benitez today with some yellow flower-like tags on their coats...and they both won 4-Sth...any explanation from anybody? I seem to be behind that.

We are the Gunners and let's keep Gunning people down.

what fckin planet are you lot on to say Bendtner is better than Adebayor. He was fkin awful today - an embarressment, yet he still kept that smug look on his face. The look on Arshavin's face at some of his misses said it all.

Arshavin has shown what quality money can buy. Do not be fooled you donks. We played terrible against Roma, this team needs quality which Bendtner clearly isn't and the jury is still out on a lot of others too.

So short sighted you lot are.

Geez

They only come to see Eboue, come to see Eboueeeeeeeeeee. you only come to see Eboueeeeee

Joppa;

You been on the babycham again?

Pure garbage from you again! NikkiB was top today, except for his finishing of course!

Shite supporters like you need to go find yourself another hobby.... try flower arranging or sumfin...

Coz i doubt we'll be able to atract decent players when they know any mistakes will be jumped on by our so-called support.

And, only a sad cunt would come on here slating a player after we won 4 effin nil, Arshy playing a blinder, theo startin for the 1st time in ages...

I can't believe that no-one has mentioned Pedersen's outrageous fucking dive! The ref just bottled that decision totally. If he thinks it not a foul, and Pedersen goes down like he's been hit by a tomahawk cruise missile, then how is it not even a yellow card? As for Diouf, he is the antithesis of modern football, and thats why fat sam took him to blackburn. I think you're right about Bendtner too. he looks like he wants it more than adebayor has done all season, and he does get into some decent spaces. plus he actually understands the offside trap, which is a bonus. I like that Song and Eboue are playing well, because I hate the feeling of dread that I used to get when I saw their names on the teamsheet. Nasri was good, Arshavin great. Nice work tho, Wrighty

Joppa;

No offence, you were expectin that from me anyways werent ya???

Anonymous said...

Ace; Just watched the dive again on MotD, the commentator called it disgusting, so good for him. The twats on Sky were just larfin at it!

Wrighty7 said...

Ace, Spike,

Had that been an Arsenal player diving we would never had heard the end of it.

As for that muppet Diouf, I expect nothing else. Fat Sam didn't think that it was a red card!

TWAT!

Joppa Road said...

Spike...just listen for a sec you dope. Its all very well beating Blackburn 4-0 and Bendtner missing a hatful. It didn't matter in the end. My point is on the really big occassions i.e. Roma in the week he was nowhere to be seen.

At the highest level he cant cut it. You can go on dreaming all you like that he is going to be a good player but I assure you he aint. He is there to score goals. Wenger go and buy a proven striker ffs.

You know I am right deep down.

Anonymous said...

Bendtner was shooking today but we cant have the booing/ironic cheering/calling for RVP.

Red section had it right with the "Super Nik" chants to try and encourage him.

That said, he was fucking awful.

Anonymous said...

Joppa;

The lad is 20, he aint reached anywhere near his peak of his potential. Not saying he WILL be world class, but if anyone can improve him, Wengers the fella!

And another thing, he is, in effect, our 4th choice striker! If he was as good as Torres, Villa, etc, he wouldnt be happy sitting on the bench or playing carling cup games...

Deep down, you fancy him, dont you???

there's alot of things that can improve, and yet we win 4-0. thats a positive thing guys! this team has so much potential. besides arshavin i think the biggest player of the day was song. he was a wall in the defensive play, and had a lot of good attacking passes! thats something we have missed imo.

eventhough we won 4-0, bendtner can improve his finishing and the fullbacks can improve their crosses. this is ofcourse something wenger and the players themselves know and they will work on it! so give them some encouragement. besides, they do alot of other good things on the pitch.

hull will be demolished!

Anonymous said...

even when they score 4 concede 0, some arsenal fans still find reasons to moan. look at what is going on with song, same happened with deneilson . . . stop seeing the now alone, get a wider perspective. before you know you be saying something like wenger should never have sold upson. arsenal are comming back into their own, and when they do all you moaners would be on whatever the bandwagon is then. stop the hatin

Wrighty...ur the best! I love ya!! Anyway, enough of the male bonding. I Just watched MOTD and saw how shockingly bad Noclass Benders misses were. Now lets face the facts. Had we have lost or drawn today, there would certainly have been none of this "he needs encouragement" or "he played out of his skin" The fact of the matter is he's average at best and not good enough to wear an Arsenal shirt. HE ISN'T GOOD ENOUGH!
Eboue, Eboue, Eboue! he's one of those players that has a lot of potential but only his petulance gets him his bad name! However, lately I think he has been one of our better players ( barring the Roma game ) It's taken him a long time for him to start scoring but think about it. Had the goal at Spurs (IMO totally legitimate) been allowed Eboue would have brought his tally up to 4. And the sheer entertainment I got from his goal celebration was precious. Can anyone send me his dance?? I think we should all sing:

Dont blame it on the sunshine,
Dont blame it on the moonlight,
Dont blame it on the good times,
Blame it on Ebouee!!

Alex Song, quality!
Arse-shavin, Top draw
Walcott, Amazing

Keep it up boys.
I do hope tomorrows game is a nil nil score-line

half of you lot make me laugh..a couple of wins and its all light and glory....are you honestly happy with Bendtner? Come on?

Agree with the fact that song are the possibilities to be our DM alongside cesc..anyone notice how good song?...his intervention.passing and tackle...improving and better than denilson..really hope that he can keep up the good work...

bendter is only 20 and he's our 4th choice striker..there's still a lot for him to improve and time is obviously on his side..don't look at a striker as a goal scoring machine, but look what he brings to the game and how he bring his team mates to play..there's more to bendtner's game than goal scoring..the blackburn defence can't cope with his presence as he's always going to get into great position, he just needs to have the composure of eduardo and he'll be one hell of a striker i bet..bendtner just needs someone to guide him just as RvP had bergkamp..the oldest striker we have is eduardo who's only 25 or 26, so don't slate him and stop all the booing and sarcastic cheering or applause..last but not least our home fans should be just like what they had in stadio olimpico always jeering and whistling whenever the opposition have possesion..

Anonymous said...

Great result today but it could have been very different had we drawn or lost through all of Bendtners missed chances. He's clearly the 4th choice and looks useless at times then a great prospect at others i.e West Brom. I still blame him for the Carling Cup knock out, again through a bag of missed chances but don't agree with booing any of our own players, that's just ignorant! I have a sneaky suspicion he might come good with more shooting practice...

Anonymous said...

it's all relative and a matter of perspective regarding bendtner missing 3 or 4 (or some say, 5)good/ great chances in one game...

* yes, he's still 21 or so;
* but even a young striker would be expected to score at least one of those;
* no, it's not acceptable at EPL level a striker squandered so many
* it's lucky we were 1 -nil up while Bendtner wasting chances

One more thought... if it were RVP, Vela, Eboue, Nasri, Song... who wasted these chances, are we all reacting in the same way? Personally, I would.

Unknown said...

good day..to see that look on the red face and see eboue net two(kudos to the announcer as well)..what more could you ask for..love the headline btw..he is gonna be huge..as for poor nic all i wonder is how is he the reciever of our most clear cut chances..either he has great foresight or everyone loves to set him up for a goal.either way if he can learn to finish he'll be a great striker(with the amount of chances he gets he could be our ronaldo if he starts netting..more after spurs thrash villa..

Joppa Road said...

by the time you are 20 you have an idea how to finish. I take on board about leading the line etc - I am not disputing he is good at that. Adebayor is the same to a certain extent in that finishing just isn't natural in any way shape or form. I think Wenger needs to get rid of one of them (Ade or Bend) and buy a quality finisher or ever give Simpson a run in the team - I doubt he would do worst than Ade or Bend have this season.

I-Thank-You

Anonymous said...

jason I bet you've called for Eboue to leave countless times this season and now that he's playing well you're saying he has potential, but Bendtner doesn't?

Bendtner's finishing isn't even as bad as some are suggesting, it's just his composure and the fact that he was nervous because of the stupid crowd that he missed those chances. He has the right qualities to become a great striker (creates chances, physical presence, clever runs and always tries hard), which is why Wenger's persisting with him.

Joppa Road said...

lolol are people on here now saying Eboue is a good player. LOLOL. My god the stupidity on here knows no bounds.

You lot raving about Bendtner and Eboue. Bunch of muppets. lolol

Anonymous said...

Bendtner played marvellously and finished quite dreadfully. He is already miles better at leading the line and making it easier for others to play well than Adebayor, who is lazy, and Van Persie, who doesn't want to know when played in that position. The goals will come. John Radford was a terrible player, so was Frank McLintock and Martin Keown according to many Arsenal supporters at the time. Funny how difficult it is to find anyone who admits saying those things now!-Ramgun

Anonymous said...

What we need now is a striker that can go to olimpic final in sprinting. We sure don't need both Ade and Bendtner. I prefer to see Ade go. We get 30million and save £110 000 pound a week for his salary. Our striker speciality; 1.RVP ( good techniquely and chant as the next DB10)
2.Eduardo (the predator and the best finisher in EPL. Can score almost from anywhere)
3. Ade (good in the air. Seem like he score more with his head rather than his feet)
4. Bendtner (Strong in the air. Better scoring rate from his head compare to feet)
So currently we have Ade & Bendtner that are similar. So offload Ade and get this sprinter alike striker. We lost that speed upfront after the departure of TH14. Arshavin, is a great deal. He will be the giant in the midfield. We really need a free scoring midfield now. Arshavin have the quality to provide regular goal from the midfield.

That's not actually true what you say about me calling for Eboues' head. Like I said, I think his petulance has been his undoing. If you're asking me if I've had a harsh word or two to say then yes. When you see him diving and rolling around on the floor then I'm the first to say this behavior is unacceptable. But remember, he only cost a million quid. I think now he has a taste for a goal let's hope he can continue to mix it up with Theo on the right hand side
