Was that a pre-season friendly???

What was that performance about?

Was that game a meaningless pre-season friendly?

And there was me thinking that it was a Champions League game.

The Champions League being the biggest club tournament in world football. The tournament that every top player wants to play in.

I don't care we were already through. That was a pile of shit. There was no heart, passion or any ideas.

I'm not digging anyone out for individual poor performances. There were too many of those.

Only two players can hold their heads up. Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere.

Keep it Goonerish..............

Sad, humiliating, embarrassing, soul destroying, confidence crushing. Surely we wanted to come top of the group ? Why select that team ?

Had absolutely enough with this following bunch of charlatans and now SHOULD BE SHIPPED OUT IN JAN and replaced with new blood:
Gallas,
Diaby,
Eboue
Bendtner

Somebody convince me otherwise..just sick to death with these poor, careless displays.

come on gooners, we have to think about saturday with boro.

I really do think this crop of players are an exciting prospect but there so gutless and passionless its unbelievable, i think Wenger deserves some slack these players dint help him out one bit tonight!!!

I just wish he had the faith in Jay Simpson and started him with Vela.

Tonights performance was pitiful - I wish I'd had a link to the youth cup game now.

played ramsey and vela out off position started bendtner hu seriously needs to be dropped hes had more dan enough games denilson had a gd first half but got sloppy after the goals gallas was Lost gd luck to djourou cos he has bin good at the back ut hes parnter has let him dwn tut tut tut gibbs and wilshere need games for them to actually do sumfing

I thought Eboue was solid in snuffing most dangers out.

Bendtner can go - I wonder how long it takes him to order a meal? He's about 1000x too slow to make a decision in the box, that is if the ball hasn't tumbled off his rosy feet to the opposing team by that point.

Wilshere was exciting.

get rid of bendtner hes the worst arsenal player ever to wear the shirt diaby is not ood enough to play for arsenal aswell wenger needs to buy in jan.

i'd give bendtner a -1 for performance, I have lost count of bad performances he's put in this season, he's a big mouth arrogant piss poor excuse for a striker with the talent and finnese of a wardrobe, i truly can't wait to see the back of him, he will NEVER make it at arsenal, he's not good enough he has never been good enough, the whole display was bad tonight, but we were so poor in attack, no width on the wings, denilson again was way out of his depth, and wenger must wake up and realise that the squad, stripped of 7 first team members, is no where near deep enough to have a realistic chance of winning anything this season, the sooner eddies back the better, then we can use vela, v.persie, ade and eddie in rotation at let bendtner be the boot boy, thats about as good as he deserves

This type of reaction from supporters is bound to happen when Wenger uses the first team as a proving ground for young and/or unproven players. There will be performances where deficiencies and lack of quality are exposed.

i disagree with baz about diaby because he is a gd player but for hes size hes defensive side isnt quite der but hes has a lot of potential jus still dont no y he doesnt partner cesc cos he can put in a tackle

I dont think Almunia was bad tonight. He could do nothing about the goals and made a couple of good saves.

I didn`t think it could get much worse but it has.
No proper width, more side-ways passing than forward passing, when it did go forward we gave it away.
We looked as though we would concede every time they went forward, although Djouro did ok.
Arsene can`t keep kidding us about this so called great group of players. There is a lot of deadwood.Another sleepless night beckons..

Im a Newcastle United supporter and i cannot believe what i am reading on here. I agree you were poor tonight, but how can people say Diaby is not good enough!? I would kill to have a talent like him in our squad.

Bendtner is so bad its cringe worthy

I haven't got a problem with the team he put out. A draw would have done us & he put out a team that should have given a strong defensive display & got that draw - 1st choice keeper
gallas & silvestre in defence denilson ,song & diaby in midfield.
But what do we get - amateur night(again).

DEAD Weight
Bentdner
Eboue (neva ever bin up for it especially at RM)

... he looked pleased with himself at the end of the match though. His pink boots were still gleaming....

nope i disagree.....i feel diaby was reaaly good tonite until the second half nd we shud be used to the lad by now....its a regular thing for diaby to be a worse player in the 2nd half, by that tym he's already tired.....gallas was okay just got sloppy a number of times......denilson was good too...he won a number of balls...he was good till the second half............bendtner didnt disappoint by being woeful tonite and he's really letting arsene down who has so much faith in him.............well bendtner's exit from the team is down to how eduardo recovers

The low point of a bad season. That must rank as the worst performance that I have seen under Wenger. Passionless and gutless by too many players.

F**k we need Eduardo back as cover badly. That boy Bendtner is a useless, bone idle shite. How much do we pay him a week to waddle around looking disinterested?

Anonymous said...

Hopefully this was Bendtners last chance, the way he wasted chances against Burnley last week, and the way he was so anonymous tonight will surely have left an impression with AW.

Gallas looked like he didn't give a shit - surely hes off in Jan. Before this game I actually thought he might fight his case, but that must have been one of his worst games wearing the shirt

Funny that. I remember last season and start of this season people were saying get rid of Adebayor. Bedtner is more than good enough, he's better than Adebayor!

Bedtner is toilet. In my opinion, he cost us the Carling cup with his lathargic performance in front of goal and has been consistently poor this season. How much chances will these average players be given!?

I've had enough of this 'potential' talk, we've been trophyless for too long now and we'll lose big players who cant wait around for our experiment to come good!

... yes, we had other crap nights in the CL in the past ie. Russia, Germany. In those days though if we were playing badly we always had TH14 who could pull a miracle out of his hat. Tonight we were toothless in attack. As soon as I saw the frontline I knew we'd had it...

Bendtner played in green boots and Wenger will never learn. You would think that the defeat in Seville which gave us a tougher draw would teach him a lesson but no,no i am chez french wanker and i know better.

Didn't see the colour of Bentner's boots, the ball was never near them for long enough for the camera to pick them up!

There would have been no shame in losing a CL game away to Porto, especially with a 2nd choice team, the shame comes from the lack of ambition from a group of players who are on the fringe of really making the breakthrough to the 1st team. Looking at the team selection, I would have thought that every one of those players was either trying to avoid transfer to another club (Bendtner, Eboue), justify their position to avoid the necessity of being replaced by a transfer target next month (Song, Diaby, Silvestre), or promote themselves to the 1st team despite their youth (Vela, Ramsey, and the subs). And yet none of them really made an impression.
The only bright point came when Wilshere came on, he was noticable, Ramsey was ok (only), Vela tried but set nothing on fire, Song and Denilson - less than ok, not too bad either, Eboue - though it's easy to single him out, was a mixture of crap and very good - he was by no means the worse. And so on.
The biggest disappointment is the failure of this group of players to grab the chance!

Why didnt Arsene tell the traveling supporters that he would be treating this game like an early round of the league cup.
When he said "The Fans have gone too far" He obviously meant by going to portugal & wasting their time & money
Not by booing the best right back in the C/L (dont make me laugh)

What was the point of even showing up? Arsenal should have just forfeited the game and saved us 90 minutes of that.

The biggest concern that everyone has touched upon is not much the fact that we lost but the fact that nobody out there seemed to give a shit.

Where is the motivation? Wenger's man-management skills once again come into question. Will any of those lathargic performances be punished? Will they reprimanded for such lack of commitment?

I doubt it.

it was a bad game. the only player that shine was Ramsey, Wilshere and Gibbs, the other..ppffftt
i knew we gonna lose this game because all the key player being put to rest by Le Boss.
but come on gooners, season not over yet.

I don't think there was an issue. There was no real benefit in Arsenal winning this match. They would rather win against Boro over the weekend.

Anonymous said...

Bendtner didnt exactly get any service from the midfield did he?

I reckon the club should cough up for the travelling fans!
