Let the transfer rumour's begin

With Arsenal Wenger stating he will sign one experienced player and that he is not afraid to spend big money, the rumours have begun to circulate quicker than Walcott can sprint five yards.

The latest, and biggest name to be linked with a move to Arsenal is Spanish hot-shot David Villa. Now this rumour hasn't come from Arsene or Arsenal, it came from the player himself.

He said he watched the Premiership alot, and the team that caught his eye more than any other was Arsenal.

He feel's our brand of football suits his game best of all and the Valencia chairman will let him go in the summer.

Although this is a rumour, this would be the standard of player I would love Le Boss to sign. Villa is top top class and if there was any chance of him coming to Arsenal then I would pay for him to fly to England, the taxi from the airport and let him stay at my house for the duration.

I'd even cook him paella every night and read him good night stories. He is that good!

I know, I know, I sound over the top. But it's nice to be linked to a player like Villa and for him to say such nice things about our club.

Anyway I think I'm allowed to get a little excited, afterall, we're normally linked with ten year old Peruvian's! (no disrepect meant to ten year old Peruvian's. I'm sure you are all great footballer's!)

I'm off to take my medicine. Feel free to leave your rumour's in the comment section.

Keep it Goonerish......

Heard that Ben Arfa is a done deal. The name has popped up alot and he has rejected contract talks at Lyon. Merida may go on loan there to soften the deal.

Now they are saying Ben Arfa will saty at Lyon. I must say I am a little confused. I pride myself on knowing football a little bit. Is the rest of the world watching the same Arsenal I am? I mean if I was a player I would be bloody running to play for us, our team play the most pure football out there. From a players perspective it's a no-brainer..What do I know..Great to see Villa is on board with me though.

Yeah I heard Ben isn't going to come... But wow if Villa gets his ass here and we finally manage to replace a finisher like Henry no one will be able to stop us with Ade in the air and David on the ground. Hope that deal goes through.

I dun luike Ade much cuz the guy needs 20 chances to score a goal of which he will waste 19 trying to put the ball in but nuttin. Just imagine a combination of Eduardo's calmness and Villa's threat....total killer striking line.

I think we need back up in defence, en a winger like Ben Arfa would do just fyn, Villa could help out am tired of RVP crockiness en Ade's gambling,Bendtner is not that gud, Walcott is yet to be given a chance by Wenger but as you know next season isn't experiemental time it's time to prove we can win back the title. So i dunno what will happen but Wenger needs to style up.

Villa is arguably one of the best strikers in the world atm, with his best years still ahead of him. Only being 26 should be young enough for Wenger, now its time for Arsene to grow some balls and spend the money that is neccessary to bring in a big name player.

AS wengers said... hes not afraid to bring out the cheque book and hes looking for someone expierenced... Villa is PERFECT!! Would absoloutly love him at Arsenal...

Exciting stuff...!!!

Wenger will by only a left winger just one player he said that and i would love to see villa in arsenal colors but there are RVP,Ade,Eduardo,Bednter, so i dont think so that wenger would buy in that area we need to keep hleb and flamini especially hleb because there are strong rumors that he will leave arsenal and if he leave that would be a disaster...

BimitarDerbatov, Arsenal are by far the most pure footballing side in Europe. Even u yids should know that mate!

Seriously BimitarDerbatov, you come on this blog like a bad rash and make the craziest comments. Barcelona huh? the same Barcelona where their attacking force is wanting to leave in droves in the summer? C'mon, I don't mind different fans coming on and having a chat, but don't do it to stir shit...

I WOULD LOVE VILLA TO COME WITH HIS ATTACKING INSTINCT BUT I HATE TALKING ABOUT GUD FINGS EARLY U KNOW MYT JINX IT AND THAT! LOL

yes Royston, the same Barcelona that is currently partaking in the semi-final's of the CHampions League as well as being second in their league...

i realise the same could be said of Chelsea but from watching Barca every week they clearly play better football than Arsenal...

and that's not a dig at Arsenal.. far from it...in fact i'd say Arsenal come in a close second to Barca..

however, despite not firing on all cylinders this season, Barca are unreal to watch whether they are winning or losing.. or whether their star players want out..

i'm not shit-stirring Royston...just giving you my honest views..

now apologise at once!! (only joking)

well you are entitled to your view. It's just funny it always has to be against Arsenal.....Interesting that..

Well we hope that the dreams will come true as really need to bring good players in for our'reinforcement' in the squad. Like I said b4 until our younger lads moves up we need experience players in every (at least one) position.

Sorry Wrightly but there seems to be a increase for the love of Arsenal but a number of players on the transfer mkt, well if they come cheap ok but hope they don't think The Gunners are desperate and flush with money.

To BimitarDerbawhatever.... You have your opinion fine but if you want to know what european managers think about who plays the purest game trying finding sacchi's comments or reading this article

http://goal.com/en/articolo.aspx?contenutoid=661456

albeit the article is very depressing though for gooners, atleast you will know how far removed your opinion is from the european ones...

I agree it would be good to see a big name like Villa in the red and white but I'm not sure if we really need to strengthen our attack. We are one of the highest goal scorers in the league - we don't drop many points from not scoring we drop points from conceding (led against Man U, Chelsea and Liverpool and lost all those games). We have the best passing midfield in the league, however when it comes to defending we defend by keeping the ball rather than taking the ball off the opposition. Normally this works but not against the better teams. What we need is a more defensive minded, hard tackling midfield. I'm not saying compromise our attacking football have more options when we do need to defend. If Flamini does leave I think Diaby will fill his boots well but we will need to get another "play-breaker" in midfield. Also we do need left winger. At we moment we have Roiscky (maybe our best player - when he plays) and that is about it. Vela is meant to be good but it is a bit of a risk relying on a new kid and injury prone Roiscky. Quersma would be an ideal signing - although expensive. Also just a thought guys, how about another left back. Clichy is the best in the business right now, but poor kid has to play every game - he is our most used player. Troare is up and coming but maybe we need a little more depth there to give Clichy a day off. Also a centre back - Kolo, Gallas - world class but after them we are a little thin on experienced players. So my little conclusion for what it is worth: We don't really need another striker. We do need a left winger and hard as nails midfielder and an experienced centre back. Then if there is any more money left over maybe a left back to add depth.

David villa would be one of the best transfers we could possibly make. look at the facts. in the recent chelsea game we were leading 1-0 but when sagna came off the defenc fell apart and drogba scored 2 goals thus meaning that we need a player to back up our defence but wen it came to squaring the game up ade wasnt able to put away his opportunities we need a rock in defence or maybe a winger like ben arfa and a clinical finisher similar scenario with the liverpool and man u games along with all those games we drew we werent able to capitalise on our chances. in conclusion if we could nab david villa ben arfa and a solid defender we could very easily win the premier league !!! i mean we have the money for it being the third richest club in the world with 1.2 billion (check forbes.com and we need to spend if we are gonna contest with the other big 3
