Arsene Wenger is just flirting with Real Madrid

I would take Arsene Wenger's comments about Real Madrid with a pinch of salt.

Of course it would be interesting to manage Real Madrid. They are a great club with more history than the Romans.

In my opinion Wenger is just flirting with Real Madrid. Its like Arsenal and Gooners are his missus and he has just had a barney with them. He feels a little under appreciated at the moment and feels sorry for himself.

He sees Real Madrid as the stunner who lives next door. Who wouldn't be interested? She shows a little interest but Wenger knows deep down that he won't go there. Its too risky.

Little wifey (Arsenal) is safe and Wenger feels safe there. He flirts a little with Madrid. Lets them know he thinks they are stunning and makes himself feel better.

In his thinking he believes Arsenal and Gooners will appreciate him more because the stunner wanted him and he could have her if he wanted.

The reality is he knows the grass aint always greener on the other side and his wife, although a little ropey at the moment, just needs a little cosmetic surgery and she will look great again.

There's a moral there somewhere..........

Wenger only spoke last week that Arsenal are his club. Do you honestly believe a week later he completely contradict himself? He only does that with transfers. Not his future.

Michael Owen on a free?

I know what you are thinking. Shut up Wrighty7 you divvy bastard. I thought the same thing myself!

But think about it. Owen may seem past it and more over the hill than Joan Collins but maybe, just maybe, he could do a job for us. A two-year pay as you play deal perhaps?

Owen is hugely experienced and has scored goals for fun over the years, at every level. Surely he still can?

People say that he is more interested in his horses than his football career. What an opportunity to prove those doubters wrong.

Wenger took a risk on Bischoff last summer. Why not Owen? A hungry Michael Owen, who still is only 29, can cut it at the top. I'm sure of that.

He's available on a free transfer in the summer. Got to be worth a sneaky look?

Please say this is just a sick rumour!

It's not often that I feel physically sick. It normally takes around ten lagers, two aftershocks, six shots of tequila and a doner kebab to make me throw my guts up.

Today I felt sick for a totally different reason. I heard a sick rumour. No, it wasn't that Elton John is my real Dad or it wasn't that Robbie Keane is a distant cousin of mine. It wasn't far off though.

I read a rumor that Arsenal were preparing a summer bid for Diego Forlan. Now I don't know what is worse. The fact that Arsenal are 'apparently' weighing up a bid for him or the fact that the fee is around the £32m mark............

Sorry, I nearly fainted there.

I couldn't give a shit that he feels he has unfinished business with the Premiership. If that is the case then let some mugs like Manchester City sign him.

I also couldn't give a shit that he has 'resurrected' his career in Spain. Let him stay there then and keep on resurrecting as much as he wants!

As much as I want to see some new additions to the squad, and I don't mean Rosicky, Diego Forlan is not the answer. Unless it's his supremely talented nephew who was named after him.

Rebuilt like Robocop!

So the rumours are true. Tomas Rosicky is back. The only difference is he has been rebuilt like Robocop.

The dodgy hammy has been replaced by kryptonite this time. It is stronger than a diamond. Well, that's what Superman tells me.

It's great though. Tomas, when fit, is one of the best players in the Premiership on his day in my opinion and it will really benefit Arsenal with him in the squad.

He has experience. Albeit mostly in the treatment room. And that is something Arsenal obviously lack. (Not players in the treatment room! That's always full!)

It may take him a little while to get back in the swing of things. I think it was 1958 the last time he played so he maybe a little out of date with the pace of the league.

The most important thing is the hunger he will bring to Arsenal. I don't mean the hunger to devour ice-cream like Hleb, I mean the hunger to play again.

It must have been hugely frustrating for Rosicky to have sat down on his arse for the last 16 months or so getting paid for doing nothing. Hmmm?!.....

No seriously, knowing Rosicky as well as I do (we are great pals) he will be itching to get back on the pitch and I can't wait to see our new and improved Robot footballer in action!

Andrey Arshavin has been here five minutes and already he is baffled by Arsene Wenger. Well, let me tell you Mr Arshavin you are not the only one baffled by Arsene Wenger my friend!

Wenger aint called the 'mad professor' for nothing!

I'll be honest here, does anyone really believe Arshavin would say that he is baffled by Wenger and blast Arsenal already? He's just walked through the door.

I get the impression that Arshavin loves it at Arsenal and I love him at Arsenal. I love Arshavin like a brother.

And I know he didn't say he was baffled because I saw the interview and I can speak fluent Russian. Sort of. I did a two-week course but I Russianed it.............I'll get me coat!

The only thing that baffles me is that the English media do not employ a proper translator who can actually speak the lingo in that country! I heard the Sun sent a Spanish man to translate Russian to English!

Anyway, even if Arshavin is 'baffled' by playing down the left, he is one of the lucky ones. Ask poor old Alex Song who was told he is a defender only to find himself in the holding midfield role or Johan Djourou, a natural holding player who under Wenger's guidance finds himself in defence!

I also heard a rumour that Manuel Almunia was a striker until Wenger converted him into an Eminem lookalike goalkeeper.

To be honest I cannot wait to see Arshavin next season. He has taken to the Premiership like I took to alcohol and I fancy a little shout at him being named Premiership player of the season after 'baffling' defences himself this time next year.

Sell Emmanuel Adebayor, get Carlos Tevez

If I was Arsene Wenger this summer I would consider doing the following; I'd sell Emmanuel Adebayor and use the proceeds to sign Carlos Tevez.

If Arsenal get offered anything near the rumoured £20+ million offers for Adebayor I think that Wenger will bite their hands off quicker than a piranha would.

As far as I'm concerned Adebayor should leave Arsenal and be replaced by someone who would give 100% every time he wore the shirt. Carlos Tevez is that man.

The Argentinian gives everything to the cause and I'm sure that when, not if, he leaves Manchester United this summer, there will be plenty of tears from all those Cockney Reds.

Tevez could inspire a young Arsenal side. Adebayor can't inspire himself. Ade says Arsenal have gone backwards this season? Well he has gone more backward than the backward man from the film Freddie got Fingered.

Signing Tevez would be a huge signing of intent and the way he has been treated at United I'm sure he would relish a move to the home of football.

Yes it was "A F***ing Disgrace" Mr Drogba

Deary deary me. Did you see Mr Drogba the other night? Screaming and shouting abuse at the poor camera. I thought I'd tuned in to a Gordon Ramsey show!

I have to say I agree with Drogba though, it was a disgrace. It was disgraceful the way he kept rolling around the floor like he had been shot by a sniper.

The man must be six foot two, built like a rhino yet the slightest touch and over he goes. The embarrassing part is the way he dives and then acts like a baby trying to get out of his pram.

The problem is Chelsea parked the yellow bus in front of their goal in the first leg desperate to keep a clean sheet. Good, they got that. But the lack of ambition bit them straight on the arse because they couldn't keep a clean sheet at home.

Now they will blame the ref who in truth, had a shocker. Chelsea should have had at least a couple of penalties but people are forgetting that Éric Abidal shouldn't have been sent off. That kind of levels it out for me.

So he was pictured out on the lash. So what? It was after a game and I'm sure that he had Arsene Wenger's blessing to go out.

How many times have you had a shitty day and a nice cool refreshing lager (or ten in Nicklas case!) is just what you need to unwind? It happens to me 8 days a week.

I'm glad he went out. It's a shame that some of the other players didn't. Make it a right team bonding binge session. My Sunday league team do it. And we love each other. Loads.

Sack Arsene Wenger and replace him with who exactly?

People are more than entitled to their own opinion but one I don't agree with is sacking Arsene Wenger.

If you are one of the people that believe sacking Arsene Wenger is the answer then could you please elaborate with who you would like to replace him? Because I can't think of anyone at the moment!

Listen, I know Arsene Wenger has his faults. I don't think he is perfect but I know he is a fine manager who, if available, would have almost every top club in Europe trying to get him on board.

I don't deny that Wenger has fucked up in the past but who hasn't? He is only human like the rest of us.

Arsene Wenger is a very stubborn man and I believe that this stubborness is his downfall. What he needs to do is look into his mirror and realise that he needs to change his policy slightly.

Its obvious that this group of players need guidance. You look around the squad and I don't see many players who can provide it.

Despite the 'potential' of this squad the lack of experience is a real problem. I'm hoping that Wenger sees that now and tweaks the squad as necessary.

I can't see how replacing Wenger would do any good. I can understand people wanting a new beginning and fresh ideas but I hope that Arsene Wenger can be the man to do that.

Yes, he may seem stuck in his ways but even the most stubborn of men can change.

I really hope he does because many Gooners are frustrated, understandably so, and his legendary status at the club could be tainted unless silverware comes our way.

It hurts to say but Manchester United are setting the benchmark at the moment and although it seems we are miles away from them I really believe we are not.

Wenger is the man to lead us back to the top but only if he is willing to change.

Lets all blame Wenger

Lets get one thing straight here. No matter how much you want to blame Arsene Wenger for Arsenal being smashed up more than Ricky Hatton you can't.

You can't blame Wenger for Gibbs slipping and you can't blame Wenger for that Portuguese lady boy being able to kick a ball better than anyone in the world of football.

Trust me, it is fucking easy to blame Wenger but think about it. Was it really his fault that Arsenal were destroyed tonight? Not in my opinion.

Arsenal did everything we wanted at the beginning of the game. We got into United faces and made the kind of start we desired more than a bar of chocolate.

What happened? Lady luck kicked us hard in the bollocks that's what happened. I feel so bad for Gibbs. That poor little bastard. He was shattered after his slip and he wasn't the only one. The rest of the lads were too. They were killed off completely by the second.

Credit must go to Manchester United. I hate the bastards but they deserved to go through over the two legs. I also feel a little for Fletcher. At first I laughed but I suppose that was cruel. Nah, fuck him.

Go on son, put yourself in the shop window

Last summer Emmanuel Adebayor was more sought after than a winning national lottery ticket. After the season he has had this time around I'd say he was as sought after as a dose of Swine flu or a left hook from Manny Pacquiao.

I was gutted by his behaviour last summer. I felt he disrespected Arsenal, Arsene Wenger and most of all, Gooners.

Its clear that all the attention he had went to his head. I only know two players with heads and ego's bigger than Ade's. Dimitar Berbatov and Robbie Keane. Maybe Lassana Diarra as well. But only because he has an abnormal dolphin shaped head.

I don't think his heart is at Arsenal anymore and I believe he should leave. But first he owes Arsenal, Arsene Wenger and most of all, Gooners, the two best performances of his life in the game with Manchester United tomorrow and the final in Rome.

A good performance tomorrow benefits both himself and Arsenal. It helps Arsenal progress to the final and it puts Ade in the shop window like a mannequin. If teams are prepared to offer Wenger bags of money then I reckon he will take it. And then laugh. Loads.

I supported Ade last season when people were having a pop at him but he doesn't deserve my support or anyone's after the lazy performances we have seen this campaign. We don't want a lazy performance like the one at Old Trafford last week. He was more lazy than a sloth.

I want the Ade of old. Full of running and causing loads of problems. Is that too much to ask? Only for two games?

So where are the gobby Aston Villa fans now then?

It seems to be awfully quiet in one half of Birmingham this afternoon. You know why? Because any chance Aston Villa had of snatching fourth place from us has vanished. It's over.

A few months back I seem to remember plenty of Villans coming on this site and giving it large. Where are they now?

You see, the problem with giving it large it that there are always consequences. It tends to come back and bite you square on the arse and unfortunately my Brummie buddies, you have been bitten badly!

You should have listened. I told you that Arsenal would go on a long unbeaten run, Aston Villa would run out of steam and Arsenal would claim a place amongst the top four. It fell on deaf ears.

I'd like to mention that Aston Villa have had a season of playing out of their skins (mostly) and Arsenal, despite our long unbeaten run, haven't hit the high heights of last season and still Arsenal came above you.

This may even shut that muggy dogger Stan Collymore up now!

In truth, despite Arsenal finishing in the top four comfortably it was quite refreshing to see Aston Villa make something that resembled a challenge to the top four.

Aston Villa will be about next season make no mistake about that and it's down to the Arsenal gaffer to strengthen our squad because Martin O'Neil will definitely strengthen his.

Villa need to take it step by step. They have a good squad, a great manager and the foundations of potentially making the Premiership top four a top seven alongside Everton and maybe Manchester City.

For Arsenal, yes, we have finished in the top four again but it's clear that we need to strengthen to become challengers for the title again. Arsenal have no divine right to be a top four side but its something we have become accustomed to in recent years. Is that enough? For some yes. For others no.

The threat of sides like Aston Villa and Everton won't go away. The Premiership has become the most difficult league to win and the standard raises every year. We need to move forward too.

I judge keepers as if they were in a league format. For example;

Championship; Howard, Robinson, etc

I always had my doubts about Almunia but the Real Slim Shady lookalike is now finally beginning to stand up.

Last nights performance against Manchester United was the turning point for me. We needed our big players to stand up and be counted. Almunia stood taller than anyone.

I've always had Manuel Almuina down as a good keeper but one that did not rival the likes of Reina, Cech and Buffon. I have no hesitation in naming him amongst those star names now.

I think I've just seen one of the most toothless displays from an Arsenal striker in my whole entire stinking existence.

I don't want to dig players out but Adebayor was a disgrace to the Arsenal shirt tonight.

He earns between £80,000-£100,000 pounds a week, will someone please tell me what he did to earn a penny of that money? Its a sick joke.

Alexander Hleb's arse gets six minute break!

Splinters are very painful. Ask Alexander Hleb's arse. He sits on the bench so often at Barcelona his arse gets splinters all the time.

The six minute cameo he had tonight gave his arse a welcome break from the ninety minute splintering it usually receives. And what a six minute cameo it was. He almost scored.

To be honest I don't know whether I wanted Hleb to score or not. On one hand it would have helped knock Chelsea out but on the other it would have meant seeing Hleb score! Who do I hate most?!

Is Ryan Giggs winning the PFA Footballer of the Year a sick joke?!

The geezer has started twelve, yes twelve, Premiership games this season! How does that merit such an award?

Giggs has been superb over the years but I get the sneaky suspicion that he was only crowned PFA Footballer of the Year because it has eluded him in the past and he is in the twilight of his career.

I applaud his loyalty to Manchester United. Not many players stay at one club their whole career. Surely though he should be awarded for this at the end of his playing days and not given Footballer of the Year as a token gesture. Doesn't this take the shine off the award a little?

The winner should have been Xabi Alonso. Regular readers of this blog will now how much I rate the fella. He is absolute class and has played out of his skin this season.

Somehow even being named in the Premiership team of the year has eluded Alonso too. How?? Maybe I see a different game to others.

Its a shame that Arsenal have no players involved but I expect next season to be different. In fact I reckon that a certain Russian maybe right involved.

I still miss him

I write this with tears flowing. My missus has told me to pull myself together (not off) but I can't help it. I still love the geezer like a brother.

I've just read Matty Flamini's interview with BBC. He's still a Gooner, I wish he was still a Gunner.

When I look back at his departure I feel a little embarrassed. I think I called him a tosser on more than one occasion when the truth is he wasn't a tosser. Alexander Hleb was. Matty wasn't and next time I see him down the pub I will shake his hand and buy him a pint. And say sorry.

The harsh truth is that maybe Arsenal were the tossers towards Flamini. He was told to earn a contract and he certainly did more than enough to warrant a decent deal.

Look at it this way, Adebayor had one good season and now earns enough money to wipe his arse with a £50 note. Flamini only wanted to do the same with a £20, that's not greedy is it?

Matty was more loyal than a guide dog during his time at Arsenal. That is fucking loyal. He never complained and just got on with his job, most of the time out of position.

Arsenal even tried to sell him the year before he left. Liberty. He stayed, played out of his skin and still wasn't offered a new deal until virtually the end of his contract. I think Arsenal just expected him to sign whatever they put in front of him.

I took to Flamini as soon as I set eyes on him. His combative style is something Arsenal need and have lacked since his departure and if he decided he wanted to come back to Arsenal tomorrow I would drive to Milan myself, pick him up, drive him back and I wouldn't even ask for petrol money.

Arsenal and Liverpool show why Michel François Platini can go f**k himself!

Pheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeew! That was a game and half wasn't it?

How the hell have Liverpool fans dealt with two games like that in one week? I tell you this, its 24 hours later and my pulse is still racing faster than Usain Bolt runs.

The point gained for Arsenal should cement at least fourth place in the Premiership for us. You like the way I say 'at least' don't you? I say 'at least' because I still feel Arsenal can leap-frog those arrogant blue bastards down at Stamford Bridge.

Liverpool will feel disappointed after dropping more points at Anfield but they still have to believe they can win the league. Arsenal are out of the title race but of those involved I hope Liverpool win it. I know some Gooners will say they don't care because Arsenal aren't involved anymore but I'd much prefer Liverpool to be champs than Manchester United.

That said I was disappointed in Steve Gerrard and Jamie Redknapp. Despite the fact that Arsenal's opener was proved to be on-side by Sky's very own camera's they were insistent it was border-line. I know they are Liverpool boys and all that but come on! It was proved!

I'd still argue that Yossi Benayoun's header wasn't over the line.......... Moving on.

Richard Keys said that Andrei Arshavin was the first opposition player in one million years to score four score at Anfield. I nearly choked on my Lucozade. I was sure Julio Baptista banged in the same amount a couple of years ago. Keys then pointed out that he only meant goals in the league. It was too late by then. I had already smashed the fuck out of my TV. I'm sending the bill in the post.

The two biggest threats of the night were Andrei Arshavin and Fernando Torres. Neither deserved to be on the losing side so maybe justice was done in a strange way. I doubt Liverpool fans will agree.

I must mention that Łukasz Fabiański produced a good performance after the Chelsea game. It was important for him to do well because he took a lot of criticism after the defeat. I hope his performance has helped prove a lot of the doubters wrong. He is only young for a keeper and will only improve.

That game had more high and lows than a kite and both teams deserve a lot of credit for producing a game of football like that. I think its worth pointing out that English football is the only place you will see matches like this. So Michel François Platini, you can go fuck yourself!

It appears that Michel François Platini has a problem with English football, how when it produces games like this I will never know. José Mourinho would have called it a hockey game, well he can fuck himself too!

Stop Xabi Alonso; Stop Liverpool

Almost every homo sapien on earth believes that Steve Gerrard is the best thing to have come out of Liverpool since the Beatles. I'd agree to a point. He is mustard. The second best player England have. After Theo Walcott of course.

Luckily for Arsenal, unluckily for Liverpool I've heard a sick rumour he won't be playing tomorrow. However, in my opinion he wouldn't have been the biggest threat that Arsenal faced anyway. Nor would Torres have been/will be.

The danger man we must nullify, in my humble opinion, is Xabi Alonso. The third best Spanish player in the world after Cesc Fabregas and Manuel Almunia of course. The geezer is amazing. A footballer I would watch all day long.

I'm sure each campaign the Premiership committee/panel pick a player of the season. If I was in that committee/panel I would vote for Alonso. He has been immense for Liverpool this season despite being treated like some spat out paella by Rafael Benitez last summer.

Allegedly, Arsenal could have signed Alonso but refused to budge on their offer for the Spaniard. Liverpool wanted £16,000,001, Arsenal went as far as £16,000,000 and Arsene Wenger went mental. Apparently there was pizza everywhere.

It would have been great to see Alonso lining up at Anfield in an Arsenal shirt tomorrow. Instead we have to stop him pulling the strings for Liverpool. He is key to them, starting most of their attacks.

The key battle is who gets control of the midfield. Fabregas or Alonso. It will be like a bull fight. To the end. Fabregas V Alonso. Shame. It could have been Fabregas and Alonso. Never mind.

Łukasz Fabiański is no calamity keeper

Don't get me wrong Fabiański fucked up against Chelsea. But to get on his back would be a big mistake. He needs our support.

I agree with Arsene Wenger, the lad could become one of the best keepers in the world. What happened to him on Saturday could have happened to anyone.

Every keeper makes mistakes. Even the greats. Whats important is that he learns from the situation and uses it to his advantage.

Chelsea wanted it more. Simple.

Well I really put my foot in my mouth with my last post didn't? Despite that I still hate Chelsea.

Arsene Wenger messed up more than me though. Big time. His selection was a little different to what I expected but maybe he still believes we have a chance for the Premiership title and he was resting players for the Liverpool game in the week. Wouldn't surprise me.

Fair enough, the gaffer fucked up. But for me it was more simple than simple minds. Chelsea wanted it more and you have to respect them for that. They were more up for it. Perhaps Abramovich offered Lampard a years supply of McDonalds. We all know Lampard loves a MaccyD.

We have to move on. I know it's hard. I feel the pain. I had to drink a pint of Carling out of a Chelsea dog bowl as a forfeit. It wasn't good. And the dog was pissed off. A Gooner drinking from his bowl. Bad times.

We have to see a positive reaction. Many see the FA Cup as the only chance we have of silverware. Fuck that. We will win the Champions League instead. I'd rather win in Europe than the FA Cup anyway.

I'm sorry but I have to take that goal away from Theo. It was an own goal from the man formerly known as an Arsenal left-back. It reads better. Ashley Cole own goal. Have that you little muppet.

We will play Chelsea again this season. Not once but twice. Once in the Premiership and again in Rome. We will knock out Manchester United, they will beat Barcelona. Trust me. I'm a doctor.

Despised Chelsea are not a BIG football club

I can't deny it. I hate Chelsea. I hate John Terry, I hate Frank Lampard and I even hate Chelsea from Eastenders. In truth? Chelsea make me sick.

I guess people will say I'm just jealous. Well I'm not. It's obvious that Chelsea have had more success than Arsenal in recent times. Of course I don't like that. Its more than that though.

Chelsea claim to be a big club. They are not. Chelsea think they have a divine right to be considered one of Europe's big boys just because they are wealthy. They need history though and that is something you have to earn.

Chelsea want to be one of the biggest clubs in the world. Fuck me, they aint even the biggest club in London. They have a long way to go until they dethrone us from that role.

The arrogance that comes from Stamford Bridge amazes me. There is a distinct lack of class. Its almost as if they have invented a new kind of smugness. Ashley Cole is one smug little bastard and he has fitted right in there. Perhaps he has taken it to the extreme.

If they sold out their stadium every game then perhaps I'd listen to them a bit more. I don't even think they have sold out their tickets in tomorrows semi-final. Big club? More like Chocolate club.

I will love it when Abramovich decides that he is bored with Chelsea. What the fuck will they do then? I know what I will do. I will laugh my pants off.

Ian Wright, Wright, Wright? More like Wrong, Wrong, Wrong

Ian Wright used to be an Arsenal hero of mine. And you know what? I hate the fact that now I say used to be.

What is wrong with the fella? Today he expressed an opinion that fourth place is not good enough for Arsenal. Well, fair enough. But why say it now? Couldn't he have waited until the end of the season to say so?

Why has he chosen to come out with this article at the beginning of the most important week of Arsenal's campaign? What is his problem?

The funny thing about the situation is at the beginning of the season he said Arsenal would struggle to make it into the top four. Now he says it's not good enough.

Growing up as a kid I worshipped the bloke. He was my hero. Nowadays I can't help but think he uses the Arsenal to sell his column.

Why didn't Ian Wright use his column to say how well Arsenal were doing recently and that we have a real chance of winning the FA Cup or Champions League?

I know there have been times Arsenal have been poor this season. I know we haven't won for a trophy for a long time. But lets wait until the end of the season and then maybe discuss the campaign. Who knows, we might have come third and won both trophies by then!

I'm sorry Wrighty. I think you are bitter towards Arsenal, maybe more towards Arsene Wenger. Since you have left the club your opinions and columns have proved that.

Stan Collymore and his hypocritical followers

It makes me laugh to read 'expert' punditry from the likes of Stan Collymore, Mark Lawrenson and their muggy mates.

All season long they have stuck a knife into Arsenal's back and twisted it more than a game of twister. They wrote us off more than a written off car. Wankers.

When it seemed that Arsenal would struggle to finish in the top four they all jumped on the 'Arsenal are finished' bandwagon. Now fourth place is looking on the cards they are all of the opinion it was always gonna happen.

The twats couldn't wait to kick Arsenal when they were down. Now they are all looking like the divvy munsters that they are.

Have Arsenal been cursed?

I honestly cannot remember the last time Arsenal had a fully fit starting eleven. I've heard rumours it was in the 1980's when Micheal Jackson released Thriller.

Seriously though, it is like some sick joke and Arsenal have been cursed by some "injury witch" or something. We are lighter at the back than a Coors Light and the situation is looking grim. One more injury to a defender and we may have to call for a state emergency.

It pisses me off because its the most important time of the season, Arsenal are flying, and BANG! More injuries.

If the injurys in defence continue then it maybe time for Arsene Wenger to go back to the 1950's. I'm sure they played a 2-3-5 formation in those days didn't they? Even more total attacking football from Arsenal of course!

Despite our curse the good thing is because we are winning the confidence is flowing through the veins of the squad. The winning habit is spreading its wings so anyone coming into the side is helped by coming into a winning side. Know what I mean?

And we need that winning habit. This is a week defining week for the campaign. I'd argue it's more important than eating. Beat Villarreal, beat Chelsea, and it maybe time to bring out the old silver polish again.

Anyway, I'm off to find the bitch of a witch who put that injury curse on Arsenal. Have a good Easter and don't eat too much chocolate. Drink beer instead.

From a Gooner to Liverpool fans

I had to think several times before I wrote this post. I couldn't decide whether to write it because it involved another club and not my beloved Arsenal. In the end I decided that Gooners would understand why I have wrote this post.

I watched the Liverpool V Blackburn match yesterday and was genuinely moved by events there. Not because Liverpool went top of the league again. No, no, no. But because of the sheer emotion at the ground.

I can't believe it has been 20 years since the Hillsborough disaster. It's strange because I was only around six years old at the time and you only remember certain things from your childhood. The Hillsborough disaster was one something I remember. Only vaguely. But I do remember it.

I suppose I didn't understand the enormity of what happened at such a young age but as I've got older I've grown to understand that it was such a terrible tragedy. Something like that should never happen at a football ground and I feel for the families and friends of anyone involved.

I've read Steve Gerrard's book and I remember reading that he had a cousin involved. You could see the emotion in his face when the camera's were on him.

I only hope that nothing will happen like this in football again.

I look at the league table and I see Arsenal out of the title race. I see Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea above us. Of the three I hope Liverpool win the league. It would be fitting that they did for those who perished 20 years on.

I learnt something from Diarra!

Lassana Diarra says he learnt nothing from Arsene Wenger. Well I learnt that Diarra had a dolphin shaped head, a bad attitude and the patience levels of a two year old.

I've tried not to bite over this but I can't help it. He really is a croissant.

Diarra has a lot of talent and potential. Believe me, he would have maximised that at Arsenal and become a world-class player. He has messed up though in my opinion.

Sure, he is happy at Madrid at the moment but it won't be long until he is considered as useful as a third nipple in Madrid.

He isn't a big name and as soon as the next "best defensive midfielder" comes along he will be lobbed out of the club quicker than you can say abracadabra.

I suppose I should just erase him from my memory like the Men In Black but I find it difficult when he launches an unprovoked stinging attack on the gaffer at Arsenal.

Arsene Wenger will probably be too dignified to respond to such slander so I'll do it for him; "Do one, you little dolphin headed munster. "

Bloody hell does it ever end?

The media, obviously not content with just trying to unsettle Arsenal players, have now tried to pick on their next target, our bloody manager!

I thought that the characters, Harry and Lloyd from the film Dumb and Dumber, were the dumbest bastards in the world! Well stone me, I think they have a rival!

Apparently Bayern Munich are preparing to prise Wenger from our grasp. They would have more luck in over-turning the hiding from Barcelona the other night.

Arsene Wenger has more loyalty than a Labrador and believe me those dogs are loyal. He would never break a contract and I wouldn't doubt that he finishes his career at Arsenal.

The funniest thing I've read about it is that Bayern will give Wenger a license to buy any French or African player he desires. Actually, thinking about it, that maybe an attraction for Le Boss!

My take on it all? Sod it. It'll never happen. Ignore the poxy media and they might, just might, go away.

F**K Barcelona!

I keep hearing Barcelona this and Barcelona that. Well I've got an opinion on Barcelona too. Fuck 'em!

Yes they play marvellous football. At times they've seemed like Arsenal on steroids. But they ain't invincible. Only we can ever claim that title.

The bastards keep trying to tap-up our players so I've no respect for them. They blatantly flaunt themselves like whores in little Texas.

I can't believe FIFA or UEFA (who is in charge?) have never reprimanded either Barcelona or Real Madrid for being so open about who they want to sign. I would bet my house, car, train and my Mighty Boosh DvD set that if an English club were do to the same thing they would get fucked over. Blatter and Platini would make sure of that!

Begrudgingly I have two things I like about them though. Thierry Henry, for obvious reasons, and Messi, who I think will become the greatest player of all time.

Anyway, people say you want to avoid Barcelona like the plague. I don't. Bring 'em on! You have to beat the best to win the damn thing so let's 'ave it!

I predicted an Arsenal V Liverpool Champions League final, it looks like that has gone tits up! So if it ends up being Arsenal V Barcelona then I cannot wait.

Revenge for 2006 could be on the cards. Thierry Henry missed two sitters for us in that game. He said he never had a real chance to say bye to us either. Perhaps he could miss two sitters (if we get there!) in 2009!

I hope Gallas hasn't played his last game for Arsenal!

I've come to the conclusion that amongst Gooners William Gallas is like marmite; You love him or you hate him. I actually love him. Like a brother. And if William Gallas has played his last game for Arsenal then I'd be a gutted man.

I've heard some suggesting that he will be off in the summer. I really hope that isn't the case. I've also heard that he may be out for the rest of the season. I really, really, really hope that isn't the case.

I think Gallas deserves more credit than a pay-as-you-go phone. He has been immense for Arsenal since he was stripped off the captaincy. A true professional. Who'd have thought it? Pundits and the like predicted he would go off the rails. Well he has managed a big fat fuck you to them hasn't he?

In my opinion William Gallas is Arsenal's best defender. Yes, I've said it all before but I'm saying it again. William Gallas is Arsenal's best defender. If it's true that he will be out for the rest of the campaign then it is a huge blow. Gallas brings that calm and experience to the defence that others can't.

Don't laugh when I say this. Adebayor could be one of the most dangerous footballers on this planet. I really mean it. No, I haven't been smoking da cronic or sipping on some hennessy. The Togo Kid could be one of the most feared players in the universe, but he has to want it.

It's no good him thinking he has made it already. He hasn't. Sure he has cash in his pocket but should that be enough for a man who could go on to become one of the best? I think he believed he had made it but has come round to the fact he hasn't. And that he could. Cuckoo.

I've given Ade a lot of stick this season. And rightly so. The money-grabbing basta.....I was one of his staunchest supporters last season though. And I want that Ade back. The one who grafts and chases a lost cause. The Ade who shits the life out of John Terry and makes him cry. The Dancing Ade.

Yes, Ade has been a bit of Togo Tosspot this campaign but I'm starting to think that he has turned the corner. Maybe putting ice on his swollen head has helped but there is no doubt an in-form Adebayor is a massive plus for Arsenal.

Maybe Ade has seen the light. He got his £4,890,732 a week contract but perhaps finally he has got the message. Strolling round the Emirates, arms flying everywhere will not win him many friends but the hard-working Ade we saw last season will.

Seeing his Cro-Zillian team-mate may have hit home some truths for Ade. While he appeared to take his talent for granted Eduardo was busy trying to save his career. And he is loved for it. Ade could do with some of Eduardo's humility, perhaps he has.

I hope we see more of the Adebayor we saw on Saturday. Believe me, he could become the biggest threat in world football. But he has to want it. And not just make his wallet fatter.

Watch out Chelsea

After the weekends results our hold on fourth place is looking more and more certain everyday. It's almost as certain as Harry Redknapp having a twitching fit after yet another Spurs defeat. Put it this way, the fat lady hasn't sung yet, but she is beginning to warm up her voice with a reassuring hum.

Just like Mystic Meg, I can predict the future. A while back I said that Aston Villa would run out of luck and form while Arsenal would go on a run that would see us claim fourth spot. I'm proud to say I appear to be right. So far. And I'm going to use my powers for this weekends lottery for the first time.

I'll be truthful, I'm still wary but only a little. But at least now its Arsenal place to lose and that is a relief after some predicted we would struggle to get there. Of course, I never.

Sometimes a little calm is needed. I admit, there have been many times in the past that I have panicked and gone ape-shit, and I've done so on this very blog. But fourth place was something I was always confident Arsenal would get. We should aim even higher and try to take Chelsea out.

I can't see any reason why we shouldn't aim for Chelsea third place position. And it would really piss them off. Beating them to third, knocking them out of the FA Cup and finally, maybe, even beating them in the Champions League final.

Yes we are six points below them but we can do it. We are bang in form, at the business end of the season and are still to play them at the Emirates. I'd love to see John Terry crying again. His crocodile tears in the Champions League Final was quite funny. It reminded me of Charlie from EastEnders. And don't tell me you don't watch EastEnders.

Despite Chelsea having more success in recent times than us, we are still the number one London club. That cannot be taken away from us. EVER. Those dirt-bags may be able to buy Buckingham Palace but unfortunately for them they can't buy history or class. Something Arsenal have in abundance.

England's relief at Wembley?! My relief its OVER!!

Thank Goodness the Internationals are finally over!

Don't get me wrong, I want England to do well. I'm English and slightly proud of that fact. However, that long without Arsenal has left me shaking, dribbling and I have lost some function in my brain.

This will sound harsh but I'm going to say it anyway, England bore me. The whole International scene does. The only time I find England exciting is in the actual finals of a tournament. Then England just upset me.

When England lose, I'm upset for about 10, maybe 11 minutes. When Arsenal lose it can affect my whole week.

I also find it hard to support the likes of Rooney, Terry and especially that arrogant little munster Ashley Cole. Every week I want them to fail so I find it hard to suddenly just switch off and get behind them. I'm not a light-switch. I can't turn off my emotions!

I'm just relieved it's time for Arsenal again. I wonder how the International break will have affected us. We were hitting some good form, in perfect time for the business end of the season.

I have a hunch we will continue where we left off. The return of Cesc Fabregas will buoy the side and the Gooner faithful.

Why can't Arsenal bring out a DECENT new kit??!!

Over the last few days I've seen numerous Arsenal sites and blogs with pictures of Arsenal's new away kit for next season. Nobody is 100% certain if any of the kits are genuine, but I'm 100% certain that I probably won't like the new strip when we are eventually exposed to it.

Nike, one of the top sports companies in the history of the galaxy, design our kits and I sometimes wonder whether they can actually be bothered to do the job. Perhaps Arsenal are last on the designers list or something and the fella/mushmalt is too knackered or pissed to do the job properly. Maybe he/she is a Spud?

I think it's time Arsenal brought out a retro style strip, one from the seventies or something like that. My missus bought me an 1975 yellow Arsenal shirt from some site called Toffs and I love it. Not only is it retro, it has a bloody collar too!

Arsenal had that shirt that marked the last season at Highbury, redcurrant wasn't it? That is what I'm talking about. The only thing I didn't like was the colour! But that is the sort of design I'm feeling. Old Skool baby!

I feel even worse now I've seen the new England kit. That is a little blinder and I'm definitely going to purchase that. I wanna feel that way about an Arsenal kit! I don't want to buy it just because I feel I have to, I want to look in the mirror and feel suave, I wanna feel good and look good, I wanna wear it to a wedding.

I dunno, maybe I'm being a little harsh on the tosser who designs Arsenal's kits. Maybe I'm just a little fussy. What do YOU think?

Eduardo reminds me of Robbie Fowler, back him to be Premiership top scorer NEXT season

If you are like me and are partial to the odd flutter down the bookies then you might want to take my advice. Or you may not. It's up to you. I'm not forcing you.

I'm going to the bookies and I'm going to ask Tracy in William Hill what the odds are for Eduardo being the Premiership's top-scorer NEXT season. I think he is fully capable of producing the goods

Since the Premiership began there have been plenty of goal-scorers to admire. Arsenal have our very own Ian Wright, a legend and my hero until recently (Sorry Joppa) and Thierry Henry, a man who doubted his own ability to score goals but who now sits proudly as our greatest scorer in the history of the club.

A player who didn't grace the red and white of Arsenal but who seemed to love scoring against us was Robbie Fowler. I'd argue that he was the most natural finisher to play in the Premier League since it began. He could have gone on to greater things had he not suffered from injuries.

Eduardo reminds me of Robbie Fowler. He is colder than cool in front of goal and I'm surprised if he misses a chance when given the opportunity.

He has proved what character he has by coming back from a career threatening injury so soon. Had Eduardo not suffered that injury I wouldn't mind shouting from the roof-tops that he would be amongst the top-scorers in the Premiership this season.

This may sound premature but I believe he will come back a better player than before. He will benefit from playing the rest of this season and after a pre-season under his belt will be very strong for next season.

I fully expect Eduardo to be become a fixture in the first-team over the coming years. In my opinion he fully deserves it.

People will say that I'm putting a lot of pressure on the man but I don't think Eduardo knows the meaning of the word.

A fully fit Eduardo, given chances by Fabregas, Walcott, Rosicky, Arshavin, RVP, Nasri, Vela. I think the rest of the Premiership better look out! So had the bookies!

Arsenal DO need more English players; but not for the right reasons (I'd take Steve Gerrard!)

The subject bores me, I've had millions of arguments about it, but I'm finally coming round to the idea that Arsenal DO need more English players in the squad.

I haven't gone soft in my beliefs. I still stick by my principles. In my opinion there aren't many English players who could actually improve Arsenal a great deal more on the pitch. Maybe Stevie G. In fact, definitely Stevie G!

People say you need an English spine to the team. I don't agree. A homo sapien is a homo sapien all the same.

Arsenal need English players for all the wrong reasons. We need them because it will help on the pitch with referees. A English ref will interact more with an English player. It's that little Englander attitude that is embedded into our brains from birth. We can't help it, its in our DNA. Its why we blame everyone but ourselves for England being shit.

We need English players because then maybe, just maybe, the biased media might leave us alone for ten minutes. Look at Manchester United, in shit-loads of debt, a Portuguese plonker and old red nose with a drinking problem in charge. Do they get it in the media? No, they don't.

You know why? Because they have England's knight in shining armour up-front. That 'orrible foul mouthed granny shagger, Wayne Rooney.

That great 'English steel' I keep on hearing about hasn't won England many trophies over the years has it? But apparently it's what Arsenal lack. It fucking ain't. Arsenal lack a player to protect the back line and a monster defender. And you know something? I couldn't care less where they came from. England or the North Pole. Do the business for Arsenal and that's good enough for me.

How many times have you watched an Arsenal game and some twat, who supports another team, shouts something about Arsenal being the foreign legion? Its all politics and it isn't right. Arsenal suffer from a xenophobic attitude and it will only stop when Arsenal sign some English players; for all the wrong reasons.

It's gone far enough. He is now saying the truth will come out. Is that the same 'truth' as when he said Arsene Wenger never shakes his hand or the same truth as when he said the incident occured down the tunnel or was it on the pitch?

I believe some people have an agenda with Arsenal and Phil Brown is one of them. If he thought deep down then he would realise that Arsenal have never harmed him in the past. He is just following the herd. And what a herd it is.

His mentor Sam Allardyce is one those people that wouldn't mind his team being relegated as long his side did the double over Arsenal. I really believe that. Brown is trying to impress 'Fat Sam' and the anti-Arsenal brigade.

David Bentley is another. For some reason he really, really has it in for Arsenal. He only joined Tottenham to try to get back at Arsene Wenger and Arsenal for releasing him. His career is over now. He is happy because he scored a wonder goal against Arsenal, in a Spud shirt, at the Emirates. He wouldn't care if he never played another game of football again. Sad bastard.

I suggest that they all form a new football club with 'Fat Sam' as the gaffer, the Bronze Pinocchio as his boyfriend, I mean assistant and Rat Boy as the captain. They could call the club FOAFC, Fuck Off Arsenal Football Club or something along those lines.

What they don't realise is while their chat and front may impress a biased media or a mug down the street, what they are really doing is just embarrassing themselves and their obsession with all things Arsenal.

Perhaps if they take a step back they would realise that Arsenal have never meant to purposely hurt them if they have and that their hatred for the red and white is uncalled for. Twats.

Its OK, Steve Taylor was just practising for WWE partnership with Hulk Hogan

I've heard reports from the USA that Hulk Hogan is very impressed with Steve Taylor and his signature move; 'The Forearm Smash'

Hogan watched Steve Taylor perform the move on our very own Andrey Arshavin at St James Park. It was executed to perfection with the Geordie even taking only two glimpses at the Russian before nailing him straight in the kisser.

Hulk Hogan was amazed at the fact that Taylor is only 23 and showed maturity beyond his years to elude any criticism or coverage over the incident.

Fuck me!

How is it possible that Steve Taylor has got away with this? It was an attack! If I did this in the street I'd be locked up for GBH and would spend the next three years of my life locked up. And I would deserve it.

The intent of Taylor's actions were more obvious than the fact that Harry Redknapp has a twitch. At least Redknapp tries to keep it under control. Just like Redknapp, Taylor took one look, then another before finally deciding the time was right.

I liked Steve Taylor before this assault. I rated him as a very good defender but this was total bollocks.

This may sound drastic but one day a player will be maimed, disabled or even killed as a result of such thuggery. Taylor should be punished as a warning so it doesn't happen again.

Unfortunately it may take something like a death from such a challenge before something is done.

I'm just glad Arshavin is fine.

Cesc Fabregas, William Gallas and Wayne Rooney treated differently; I expect no less

Could you imagine the uproar if Cesc Fabregas threw the ball at a ref, refused to leave the pitch and finally when deciding to do so, punches the corner flag. It would be like World War 3.

We make excuses for Wayne Rooney. By 'we' I mean English people. Rooney can do it because he is young, English and has an explosive temperament.

Fabregas walked onto the pitch after Arsenal beat Hull City in the FA Cup, dressed like something out of a fashion catalogue and is taken apart. I despair.

I have no doubt that had Fabregas done the same thing as Rooney did it would have been included in the ref's match report. Little innocent 'Wazza' won't be condoned.

If Arsenal do such things, we are 'spoilt little brats' and Arsene Wenger can't control the players. Remember William Gallas last year against Birmingham? Of course you do, he (and Arsenal) were destroyed.

The media will never say Fergie, The King, has lost control over his players because he will simply ban the press and press conferences. Just the same as we won't hear or read endless debates at Rooney's petulance like we did when Fabregas or Gallas were involved in something the press could sink their teeth into.

Stop making excuses. Rooney is not a kid anymore. He is a 23 year old married man for fucks sake! Fabregas doesn't go out shagging 67 year old prostitutes, like Rooney did, yet he is hung, drawn and quartered. Gallas was petulant at Birmingham but didn't we get to know about it!

Its double standards of the highest order!

I'd love to see Xabi Alonso in an Arsenal shirt

Steve Gerrard will get all the praise for scoring a hat-trick in the 5-0 hammering of Aston Villa but I had my eye on another player and was thinking of what might have been.

Watching Xabi Alonso spray pass after pass around the Anfield turf was a joy to see. He is true quality and I believe that he is one of the best midfielders in the world.

How good has he been for Liverpool this season? I'd argue that he has been their best player and after the way Rafa Benitez treated him last summer it shows how strong his character is.

I never understood why Benitez tried to sell Alonso and buy Gareth Barry as a replacement. Don't get me wrong, Barry is a good player but I don't think he is a patch on Alonso.

Alonso is highly revered by the Kop and I know there was a lot of sympathy towards him from them over the way he was treated. I've no doubt that they are over the moon that he stayed.

After getting thumped today Aston Villa appear to be slipping away for a Champions League place. Barry is desperate to play in Europe's elite competition and I wonder whether Rafa Benitez will renew his interest.

In my opinion he doesn't need to when he has Alonso in his squad but from a Gooners point of view I hope he does because there is still that glimmer of hope that we may see Alonso in an Arsenal shirt one day.

Despite Arsenal's revival in recent weeks I would still like to think that Arsene Wenger will look at the midfield and be keen to improve it. A midfield of Fabregas and Alonso would whet the appetite.

Some people say they are similar players and would not compliment each other. My answer is simply watch them together for Spain. They suit each other down to the ground.

I hope Liverpool make a move for Gareth Barry in the summer and I hope that it may open a door for Alonso to join Arsenal.

No more Shay Given to save the Toon!

I've always felt that Geordies are blinding people. Their accent is second on my all-time top ten favourite accent list, only behind Cockney slang.

Geordies are passionate about their club, just like Gooners, and they probably deserve a bit more than their current plight.

To be honest, the only despair I have about Geordies is that one of their own married a little toss-pot called Ashley Cole. She could do a lot better.

Despite the fact I love Geordies there is a matter of a football game being played today in Newcastle, involving my proper love, Arsenal. So for 90 minutes the love-in ends. Fuck Newcastle United.

In previous years many a goalkeeper has saved their best performances for when they play Arsenal. Shay Given was one of those. Although he does play well every week! Just better against Arsenal.

Luckily for Arsenal, Shay Given doesn't play for Newcastle United anymore. He sold his soul for money. Given has saved Newcastle's bacon more times in the past than I care to remember. Every week he was Newcastle's man of the match. I've always regretted not seeing him in an Arsenal shirt.

There is no more Shay Given to save the Toon. Despite this it will a tough game but one I believe Arsenal will win.

It's gonna be Arsenal V Liverpool in Rome!

Steve Gerrard said that everyone would want to avoid Liverpool in the Champions League draw and I agreed with that but I also felt that nobody would want Arsenal either.

Liverpool and European football go together like fish and chips (gravy and chips if you are Northern) and Liverpool enjoy a good record in the competition. Arsenal do too. We've qualified for the Champions League every season under Arsene Wenger and I believe we are a huge threat to anyone.

Arsenal are like David Blaine; We bring the unknown. Whether that's a good thing or not I'm not sure because even us Gooners don't know what we are about to bring to the table! Ask Roma. We smashed them to bits at the Emirates and the second leg we couldn't have been more different.

I'd argue that on their day Arsenal, in full flow, would beat ANYONE and I mean ANYONE! Barca, Manchester United, Chelsea and yes I include Liverpool in that list. You could say the same about Liverpool as Madrid and Manchester United have found out lately.

In the past the Champions League hasn't always gifted Arsenal a great deal of luck. Maybe this is our 'lucky' year? Villareal are a tough side to beat, as are any Spanish side, but the pressure is on Arsenal as we will be favourites for the tie. However, despite it being tough we have avoided the 'massive' sides at this stage and will be confident of progression.

Last season Liverpool knocked us out at this stage and I think luck played it's fate in that game. Nothing could really separate the two teams but Liverpool got that little bit of luck that made the difference.

I really wished they would win it after that because I feel there is an affinity between the two clubs. Ray Kennedy is a bond we have and the fund set up for him is a great gesture.

I'm glad we have been kept separate and could meet in the final. I'm also glad that the little leprechaun Robbie Keane will miss out on these great European nights because lets be (Villa) Real for a moment, when will Spurs ever get to see Champions League football?

There is a long way to go but I have felt all season that Arsenal would win the Champions League this season and I still do. I also believe that we will meet Liverpool in the final. It's destiny.

Mission complete on Gallas; Fabregas firmly in sights

The poxy media. What is their problem with Arsenal? Why are Arsenal hated so much?

During his tenure as Arsenal captain William Gallas was vilified at every opportunity and I fear that the media now have a brand new shiny target; Cesc Fabregas.

The controversy over 'spit-gate' will leave a black mark on Fabregas' character in the future even if he is proven not to have gobbed all over Brian Horton's shiny Tesco Value slip-ons. It's like an innocent person accused of rape, despite being innocent that person has been tarred with that brush and I fear Cesc has been tarred. (Not of rape!)

If a person accuses someone of rape and is found to have been lying then, quite rightly, they are punished. I hope that this is the case for Phil Brown. But I doubt he will be though. The muppet.

Cesc Fabregas is one of the good guys in football. A role model. Yes he is a little over-zealous at times but he is young and will learn to curb his temperament with experience. What he doesn't need is the media on his back already.

I think Fabregas has made a mistake trying to explain his side of the story. Obviously he wants to get his version of events out in the open but the media are fickle and those left out of his 'exclusive' will be out to get him.

Perhaps silence would been the best option here because Phil Brown seems to be hell-bent on contradicting himself more and more. Talk about putting your foot in your mouth. Perhaps his ear-phone isn't working properly and the message's he's receiving are muffled.

Anyway, keep your eye on the reports on Cesc Fabregas in the future. I bet the media will now be out to discredit him like they did to Gallas week-in week-out.

My message to Phil Brown; PROVE IT!

So Phil Brown reckons that Cesc Fabregas spat at his assistant does he? He witnessed it did he?

My advice to Phil Brown is; PROVE IT THEN!

Where is the proof? It sounds like Phil Brown has learned a lot from his mentor and master, Fat Sam.

I've no doubt that Phil Brown has said this to get some kind of twisted revenge. He hates Arsene Wenger (because his boyfriend does) he hates Arsenal (because his boyfriend does) and he is bitter (because his boyfriend is).

The muppet can stick his bluetooth headset where the sun don't shine then maybe I'll hear him better because he talks out of his arse a lot and more.

Fabregas of course, and rightly so, denies spitting of any kind, even lyrics. Who do you believe? Cesc our captain? Or some jumped up little sun-bed addicted freak? All I'll say is Cesc says he didn't, that's good enough for me.

I can understand the frustration of losing to an off-side goal. Only the most one-eyed Gooner could claim that the winner was on-side, but for Phil Brown to go on a rant like that has only embarrassed himself and his club.

Defeat to such a goal has a bitter taste but it's football. It's hard to take but you win some and you lose some. Fuck me, Arsenal have had plenty to grumble about in the past!

Some of his claims were ludicrous. Apparently Arsene Wenger got Myhill, the Hull keeper, booked for time-wasting. Silly me! I thought that maybe Myhill himself had something to do with that! Was Wenger forcing him to hold the ball so he would be booked? Maybe Arsene was, ask Phil Brown.

He has proof.

So a night of controversy concludes with Arsenal going to Wembley for the first time. I said that Hull stood in the way of destiny and I stand by that. Arsenal will win the cup.

I also said that I hoped Hull stayed up and that is still the case. Not for Phil Brown, he can go fuck himself, but for their supporters and for the Hull fairytale. They may not end up with cup glory but staying in the Premiership is what it's all about.

For Arsenal, a season that looked like being a really really bad one may still end up being a really really good one!

Hull City stand in the way of destiny

Hull City surprised a lot of people at the Emirates earlier in the season but not me. I wrote that if Arsenal underestimated Hull then it would bite us on the arse.

Many Gooners still have scars on their bum cheeks.

This time its different. Hull were flying as high as Pete Doherty back then and Arsenal were as cocky as Wayne Rooney before the Liverpool game. I don't want to sound cocky; but I'm fully confident that Arsenal will win this game.

The FA Cup has Arsenal's name on it. The draw (until Chelsea in the semi's) has been as kind as Snow White and Arsenal have taken advantage so far.

I think Hull have bigger fish to fry. Like staying up. I hope they do stay up because at the Emirates that day they played some great football and that is always good to see.

Hull have been great for the Premiership and achieving Premiership status again for next season will be their top priority.

Arsenal are hitting some real form and I expect that to continue tonight.

The invincible season came with a price

The achievement's of Arsenal in the 2003-04 season will never be matched again by any club.

To go unbeaten for a whole campaign was freakish. The Arsenal side who gained the tag 'Invincible' were freakish. Freakishly great.

Gooners are so proud of what Arsenal did that season and the memory will live on forever. Maybe that is the problem.

Ever since every Arsenal side under Arsene Wenger have been compared to the 'Invincibles'.

Its time we stopped living in the past............

Those days are over. The 'Invincible's' have been torn to shreds and are nothing but a great memory now.

We cannot continue to compare Arsenal teams with the side of 2003-04. It's time to move on.

The heights we reached in that season will never be reached again by ourselves or anyone else. Let's treasure the memory but lets not live in the past, lets look to the future.

Its difficult to see the decline we have been on since those dizzy days but the future is looking brighter in my opinion and Arsenal will compete again.

Aston Villa are like Samson but Arsenal can only get stronger

If you are aware of mythology then you may well be familiar with the story of Samson, an exceptionally strong hero of the Israelites who had tremendous physical strength.

The source of his strength came from his long, thick hair. While Samson was asleep one night, his girlfriend Delilah cut off his hair. She had tricked him into revealing where his strength came from.

Samson grew weak and the Philistines seized him. They put out his eyes and chained him to pillars in the temple of their god Dagon.

After a time Samson's hair grew back, and his strength returned. During a celebration in the temple, Samson pulled down the pillars to which he was chained. The temple collapsed, killing Samson and all the Philistines inside.

Aston Villa remind me of Samson. They appeared to have power, pace and thrived in a 4-5-1 formation. Since Emile Heskey arrived in January they have changed from a formation that served them well into a 4-4-2 and appear to have lost their powers.

I've always been confident that Arsenal would overtake Aston Villa at some stage but I wonder why Martin O'Neill would change a formation that was working so well for his side?

Arsenal are going from strength to strength and with players like Fabregas, Rosicky and Adebayor to come back will only get stronger.

The defeat against Tottenham today may leave the Aston Villa players crushed mentally while Arsenal appear to be getting into their stride, and in perfect time too.

Arsenal have an edge over Villa now. And like Samson, Aston Villa may find it's too late to regain the early season strength that they had.

Andrey the Giant!

Andrey Arshavin maybe a man short in size and stature but he will become a giant of a player for Arsenal.

His goal today was immense and straight out of his You-Tube drawer. Type Arshavin in You-Tube and you will see goal after goal of similar style.

His arrival at Arsenal seems to have had a knock-on effect to the rest of the side and it has given everyone associated with Arsenal a huge lift. With the business end of the season in sight the lift couldn't have arrived at a better time.

I have one question though about Arshavin. Why does he wear gloves? I'd have thought it would be hot over here in England compared to Russia!

The 4-0 hiding of Blackburn wasn't all down to Arshavin and Nicklas Bendtner tried his best to keep the score line as low as possible.

Gooners are split on Bendtner but I think he should be given a break. The booing was wrong and to be honest there was really no need. Yes, he missed chance after chance but it was petty to get on his back like that.

I happen to think he will become a very good player and if he did leave the club as a result of him being booed then it could come back to bite us on the arse.

Eboue is the other player used to being booed by Gooners but fingers crossed he has turned the corner. He hasn't endeared himself to the Arsenal faithful in the past with his antics but if he works hard on the pitch then we can build bridges with him.

The result was flattering for Blackburn and could have been a lot more than the four goals we did score. What makes it even more sweeter is the fact Fat Sam is in charge of Blackburn. I can't stand that man and to see his face looking like thunder at the end warmed my cockles.

It's over to the Spuds now to do us a favour against Villa but in my opinion finishing in the top four is down to us. We have the quality and players coming back from injury and that should be enough.

A Gooner being stabbed? Not surprising, why is the final actually in Rome again?

The news that a Gooner was stabbed in Rome has killed off the enthusiasm of last nights victory for me.

You pay all that money to go and watch your team in Europe and you have to look over your shoulder in case some fucking lunatic has a pop at you. It's football not war for fuck's sake.

The worst thing is some sort of tragedy was expected. How bad is that?

Football is full of violence in Italy and not enough is done to stop it. How many times will this be allowed to happen in Italy without anything being done to stop it?

Could you imagine if this happened in England. I should imagine that every English club would be thrown out of European competition and banned for a long time.

How the final can be allowed to be staged in Rome stumps me. Yes the Olympic Stadium is lovely but that night will not go without incident outside it.

The Champions League final should be staged elsewhere to show these idiots that they will not win.

Somehow I think FIFA or UEFA haven't got the bollocks to do anything about it.

I hope the Gooner makes a recovery.

We will be back in 77 days!

There are 77 days to go until the Champions League final on May 27th. The venue is the exact arena we play Roma tonight, the Olympic Stadium.

It's a bold shout but I'm firmly in the belief that we will be back there on that very night.

Nobody expects us to do it but I believe that makes us stronger. Arsenal flourish with underdog status.

The tie with Roma should have been killed off already but when did Arsenal ever do things the easy way?

An early goal will destroy Roma and silence the ultras.

Its the business end of the campaign and Arsenal have a lot to play for. We have players coming back from injury and there seems to be a renewed belief flowing through the veins of the club.

Lets get through tonight and begin the journey to Rome on May 27th!

Manchester United will get a reality check, just like Arsenal did

It appears that most people believe that Manchester United are set to sweep up every trophy in sight and dominate world football, crushing anyone who gets in their way.

I have to admit, it's easy to get caught up in the frenzy and start believing but the truth is reality is far different from fantasy and Manchester United could find that out.

Remember the season 2003/04? Of course you do. That was the season Arsenal went through the entire Premiership campaign without a single defeat.

Back then people were saying the same things about Arsenal as they saying about Manchester United now.

Arsenal were going to win everything in sight and nobody could stop them. Fate didn't follow suit. Within a few days we suffered a double blow when losing to Manchester United in the FA Cup and Chelsea in the Champions League.

Football is unpredictable and that's why I won't get caught up in all the talk that Manchester United will win the lot. I'm sure the Manchester United players and Ferguson won't either.

If you listen to the media then the season may as well end now and lets just hand the trophies to Manchester United. I don't listen to the media and happen to believe that Arsenal will ruin the party and win the Champions League and the FA Cup.

People will call me an optimist and not a realist but why? I'm realistic enough to know that Arsenal, on their day, like Manchester United and Chelsea have found out, can match and beat the best.

At present the season couldn't be going better for Manchester United on all fronts. On the other hand, Arsenal have had a bad Premiership season even if we do make fourth place but we are genuine contenders in the cup competitions.

Manchester United deserve a lot of praise but I think winning everything is beyond them or anybody. They will win the Premiership, they have the Carling Cup but I think Arsenal will share the spoils and give everybody a reality check.

Aston Villa have made the big four a big five, Everton could make it a big six! No sign of Spurs!

In recent years the Premiership table has had the same four clubs challenging for the top four places. Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United are the familiar faces at the top of the tree whilst the rest of the Premiership have squabbled amongst themselves for the remaining places.

A few years ago Everton broke the mould, at Liverpool's expense, and it was a breath of fresh air to see. Aston Villa are trying to do the same this season, seemingly at Arsenal's expense, and Everton cannot be ruled out of the running for Champions League qualification either.

It seems as though Manchester United have wrapped up the title this season so the excitement for the Premiership maybe in the hunt for Champions League places instead. Of course people will insist that Arsenal are the most vulnerable of the so-called top four and Aston Villa or Everton will take their place but the truth is Chelsea and Liverpool are vulnerable too.

Obviously Arsenal's position in the league table for us Gooners is painful to see but you have to praise Aston Villa really. They have taken advantage of us having a poor season and they have had a great one. At present they deserve to be in the top four but the question is can they remain there?

I think this campaign is too early for them and Arsenal will finish in the top four as usual but this will be good for Aston Villa in the future. This will make it harder for Arsenal of course but it will be great for the Premiership to have another side challenging at the top.

Everton can also make the step up in my view. I see no reason why they cannot challenge for the Champions League places on a more regular basis. They are hard to beat and if they spend wisely then they have every chance.

I have to admit that Manchester United have raised the bar this season. I think it is safe to say they have the title wrapped up. It's up to the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Aston Villa and Everton to match the level they have set. Obviously that won't happen this campaign but it can in the future.

Since 2004, the title race has been very difficult for us Gooners to swallow. What is certain for Arsenal is it will be far more difficult to win the league whilst the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool, Aston Villa and Everton strengthen their squads.

I believe Arsenal will finish in the top four this season because I feel Aston Villa will stumble and Everton will miss Arteta too much. What I hope though is that this season is a wake up call for Arsene Wenger regardless.

The sides around us will strengthen their squads and we need to do the same or we will fall behind. The margins are closer than ever and while it is exciting for the Premiership it is heart attack material for Gooners.

The Premiership could turn from a big four into a big six and I don't include Spurs in that either!

Is Denilson REALLY that bad?

In my opinion Denilson has been on the receiving end of some unfair criticism during the course of the season.

Of course he has his flaws, everybody does. But it's not his fault that his predecessors in the midfield of Arsenal were world-class and he is at the beginning of his career.

We cannot forget the fact that this is Denilson's first season as a regular in the Arsenal side and whilst I cannot agree with Arsene Wenger that he is an unsung hero, I think he has done a good job for Arsenal in a difficult season.

In truth Arsene Wenger has thrown Denilson in at the deep-end and Denilson has kept his head above water, improving as the season goes on.

In recent games I've been impressed with him. He has produced tenacious performances, and against Roma he was immense.

His job in the Arsenal side is to break down the play and give the ball to a creative player. Unfortunately for him, his most recent 'creative' partner has been Alex Song so I think he has done rather well!

I believe if Denilson had the players around him that Fabregas did when he became a first team regular then Denilson would have progressed even more. I'm not comparing Denilson and Fabregas' abilities but Denilson has no role model around to influence and help him grow as a player. Cesc did, Vieira.

There are statistics to say how well Denilson has done this campaign. I prefer to see with my own eyes and I see a player who has plenty of potential who with the right players around him could become a very important Arsenal player.

Everybody loves a good hard working and honest player, attributes I'd definitely give to Denilson. If he works at his game then he can become a very good player in years to come and one I hope to see remain at Arsenal.

Arsenal have signed the new Dennis Bergkamp

In the three games Andrey Arshavin has played for Arsenal he has been blowing out of his arse after about ten minutes of play!

That is hardly surprising though. The Premiership is a tough league to play in and he hadn't played for a long time until finally making his Arsenal debut against Sunderland.

Despite his lack of fitness I've been very impressed by him. You can tell when a player has class and Arshavin has class in abundance.

He sees the play before it evolves and seems to know what is going to happen next. This intelligence reminds me of an Arsenal legend; Dennis Bergkamp.

I think Arsenal have missed Dennis Bergkamp more than any of the dismantled invincible side. Everyone looked up to him and he was adored by Gooners.

Many have compared Robin van Persie to Dennis Bergkamp, I can see why. Both Dutch and world-class forwards who play(ed) for Arsenal but I think they are different types of player.

Bergkamp was more of a link-man than van Persie is and that is the comparison I see with Andrey Arshavin. In my view Arsenal will benefit more with him linking midfield and attack.

I believe that is where Arshavin will play for Arsenal long-term, in the hole behind the attack.

At the moment it is about Arshavin adapting to his new surroundings and to the Premier League. We will see the best of him next season.

I can't wait to see him next season with us. He will have been with us for six months, adapted fully and will have a pre-season under his belt.

Arshavin will be a special player for Arsenal; next season.

If we don't win against West Brom then we don't deserve top four place

Tonight's game against bottom-placed West Brom is the biggest league game for Arsenal so far this campaign.

Nothing other than a victory can be comprehended; it's do or die time.

I've heard a lot of talk coming from Arsenal, now is the time to back it up.

We were given a reprieve by Aston Villa drawing on Sunday. We still find ourselves six points behind them but it could have been eight. We are very lucky.

In many respects West Brom are like Arsenal; very pleasing on the eye but light-weight. I hope they stay up because they do play good football.

However, football is a results driven business and the pretty football will mean nothing if Arsenal end trophy less, out of the top four and West Brom are relegated.

We have been given an opportunity to put some real pressure on Aston Villa who sit above us. If we don't beat West Brom then we don't deserve a top four place.

I don't mean any disrespect to West Brom for saying that, I mean Arsenal have been given a chance to put recent results right.

Tonight could make or break Arsenal's top four ambitions and I'm backing them to make it.

Aston Villa draw puts Arsenal in last chance saloon

I'm still in the belief that Aston Villa are beginning to hit a rough patch but it doesn't mean a thing unless Arsenal take advantage of the situation.

In my opinion Aston Villa are feeling the pressure of being in fourth place. Its a situation they are not used to being in. Arsenal, on the other hand, have experience of competing for the Champions League places.

You could argue that Arsenal are cracking up too. Whilst we have been on a long unbeaten run recent draws with Sunderland and Fulham have not been good enough.

We were handed a reprieve today. Aston Villa dropping points means that we are very lucky indeed. I'd say that now we are in last chance saloon.

We are running out of games and desperately need to start turning these draws into wins. If we don't then it could be Europa Cup football for us next season.

In the past I've suggested that Aston Villa have been very lucky this season. I still believe that is the case but maybe I haven't given them the credit they deserve.

Their position in the league table doesn't lie and it can't all be down to just luck. They deserve their lofty place in the league.

Its going to be a very tight race for the Champions League place and it will go the wire. I still believe we will pip Aston villa to fourth spot. Just.
